That's exactly what I was thinking! If there are absolutely no deadly missions ANYWHERE in the game, then what is the point of my memorial? I was waiting to kill a survivor that I have had for an extremely long time (hunter level ten from like the beginning of my game play) that I have used on countless missions so I could see his kill count, but now with the update, I won't get to see his stats! Unless they make it that retired ones go in the memorial...which is originally what I thought memorial would be for, but then realized it was for deadly missions and survivors who died.
Plus, I liked going on the deadly missions and acting out crazy stories to make my survivors die so they would be memorialized, it made it more like the show!
Noticed that the formerly deadly side/explore missions still show up in episodes (with weapons symbol) and promise extra chance of rewards, but if aren't deadly, why extra rewards? Not just memorial is useless but also stats on players deadly missions (# will never grow) and an achievement gold reward for 50 deadly missions still shows up in list that I'll never collect now. The zombie apocalypse just got tragic!
Damn.... I want back deadly but... To kill survivors is insane!!

My memorial totally disappeared after the update, maybe because I recently started the game and I hadn't had any deaths yet. I only had the chance to play 1 deadly and I'm bummed they were removed. The 1 I did play was more exciting with the thought of losing a survivor.
Best answer I have come up with is they had too many complaints of people losing there best survivors in deadly. Have heard there was some glitches that causes deaths when it shouldn't have... But seems people complaining about an optional part of the game is enough to ruin it for the rest
Also they do send you this standardized message if you try and ask them directly....
"Hi survivor,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I'm sorry to hear that you've been disappointed in some of the changes made in this update. Every update introduces different changes to the game that improve the overall playing experience. This time due to a lot of feedback we received from players deadly missions were removed from the game completely.
We understand that this makes the related achievement unachievable so to ease the change and to celebrate the new radio calls system, we've sent everybody a summer gift with 15 phones!
I think this would be an easy fix that could make most people happy. Register retired survivors in the memorial and still list their stats but put a little star disclaimer saying they are retired and not deceased.. this way you still get the xp back plus memories of your team that have been with you for a long time . Win win for everyone , or bring back deadlies
This was the message I sent to contact in game ...
"I am trying to understand the need to remove the deadly missions. It was an optional mission that those that didn't like could avoid. Now you also have the memorial with no purpose.
I enjoyed giving my survivors a warriors death, and seeing the day's survived and kills completed. Have some lvl 15 maxed survivors I am a few weeks away and would like an option to send them to the memorial.
Maybe an option to toggle deadly on or off or when you retire you have an option to send to memorial.
Many on forums are unhappy as well for the loss of risk factor and the achievement half completed.
Understanding on why you thought this is a game improvement would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time and really enjoyed all the other changes in this update."
I feel like no matter what people will complain about something so it's upsetting that the deadly missions were removed for that reason. They were optional and came with a known risk.
If they won't give them back I do like the idea of retired survivors being listed in the memorial. Mine is totally gone which is annoying. I think I had to have spent something to build that. Thanks for the phones that I used in 1 shot lol. I got 1 survivor I liked then the game crashed and she was gone. When I tried again I got all rejects what a trade off for the achievement
I was at 458/500 deadly mission, willing to get the 500 gold reward. For **** sake, why have you done this? It was totally ok to have deadly on exploration only, so you could go or stay safe with normal one. We don't give a **** about those 15 Radio tent, I want achievement back! @eetu
