    More or less zero.

And btw...I don´t get it, that people still asking for this.

    1. NG said that it won´t come along for quite a time.
    2. You´re now able to level your survivors up to legendary and beyond.
    3. The chance of drawing an epic or legendary isn´t that bad at all, if you´re doing 15 radio calls :)

I haven't pulled a Legendary since the last Event.
Yes we can upgrade them to legendary.. but I would like to also have the higher chance of just pulling it!
& I for one would much rather pull a Epic/Legendary right out the gate then have to Upgrade its Traits!
    & why?
Why do people/players ask for any of things they've been asking for ?

& NG never said Never :grimace:

Crap, I'm officially the unluckiest NML player around.
Here I am at level 41, waaay too many playing hours, many hundreds of radios spent, maybe thousands (never thought to keep count), and guess how many legendary survivors I have?

    Yup: 0, zip, nada, none.

I'm sitting on my radios untill I feel I have a better chance than no chance at all.

Judging from the most recent communications I'm guessing that will be until update 2.2 or later.

Level 49 with only 1 leg that I got during the last increased event.
But I am mostly a f2p player, so I only get the phones from crates/wall

I was well into my Player Level 40's (46 or 47-I cant remember) before I got my first LEG survivor and now I have 7. None were from an ICELS event. So although I would not mind this event, it is not as though you can not get LEGs without it. Last time we did have an ICELS event I didn't even get an EPIC let alone a LEG.

looking at my latest calls in july (here: http://forums.nextgames.com/walkingdead/discussion/comment/108835/#Comment_108835), i think there's no need to wait for an icels event

I had two legendary and about four epics during the last three weeks...

    @Ifyourforgive
Judging for the lucky ones here I should probably have had a bunch of legendaries, but alas, I am not one of the lucky few.
And sure enough, if I keep at it, ofcourse I'll have legendaries eventually. Even if only by rejecting rares and such and by that route gaining tokens.
So, yeah, in due time, I'll get there.
But with that event I'd get there sooner.
    :)

Edit: unless it's like previous events, where I spent hundreds of radios to get no more than epics even during the event. But hey, even bad luck has to break sometime. Let's give it a nudge in the right direction... with an ICELS event.

Indirectly, this IS the ICELS event...

    More radios = More Calls
More Calls = More chances for ALL Survivors, including E&L

Just saying. I'd love an ICELS event, but I'll take events like this one any day.

In a way you are right. With the added bonus that phones can be held onto until a more oppotune time to spend them. So viewed in that way simply earning extra phones is better.

@MadPuppy plus, since the last ICELS, we now can pick from three survivors... So if they keep this event in the mix, coupled with 3 survivors to choose from every call? No ICELS event needed. Really.
  • MizTyMizTy Member Posts: 1,335
Yeah, if this weekends event happens as advertised it will definitely quench my ICLES crush. I'm excited for more phones!

Now what would be cool, @Teeceezy is if they forecasted an event that gave x2 double tokens from scrapped survivors and x2 hero tokens. More tokens = More ways to buff your existing team?

    @Big_Guy
    Since last event?
Last time I checked.. We could choose from three then too lol
& now.. We have Heroes to deal with.. So our chances are even less!!
So the Event is still needed

I think ICELS isn't nearly as important as it was before. Since 2.0, I've promoted 4 survivors into Legendary status and even better I got to select ones with the 4 best traits out of my epics, rather than a full random draw. I feel like my rate of "acquiring" legendaries is perhaps higher than it was when I'd save phones for the big weekend.

It isn't mentioned often enough what a big deal it is that call-outs return tokens for rejecting survivors. Class tokens are worth so much more than the small XP reward we were given before. Epics are not hard to come by from 15-radio call-outs and you can turn the bad ones into tokens for promoting your favorites. I'm pretty content with this system.

@Teeceezy @OldGoth @Shadowkeeper I know you guys won't give us exact details, but is there ANY reason we should save our radios beyond this weekend? Trying to decide whether to spend my 800 radios on maxing out Glenn...

    Quick math.

It takes 128 X 4 + 250 to promote an epic into a legendary. 756 tokens of a single type.

    With generous odds of pulling an epic being 1 out of 10 normally that's 32 X 9 = 288 tokens + 1 epic of 128 is a total of 416 tokens.

If even 1 more of those 9 rares became an epic with an ICELS event that's an extra 96 tokens (3 15 radio calls).

3/13 is 23% extra tokens for simply getting 2 out of 10 epics instead of 1 out of 10.

@NG this is why we want ICELS so please let this weekends increased radio event lead to next weeks ICELS event!!

    ** edit

Realizing 10% normal odds and 20% increased odds might be too high I'll use different numbers.

Suppose it's a 5% odds normally of an epic.

Out of 20 pulls you get 19 rares = 608 tokens and 1 epic at 128 tokens is 736 combined. If one of those 19 rares is an epic then it's a bonus 96 tokens.

    96/736 = 13%

So if epic is normally a 5% chance and the odds are increased by 1 of those 20 pulls it's still 13% more tokens. Nothing to sneeze at :)

Not really. If you normally get 30 radios over the weekend, you will probably get 60.
yes you do get double the calls, but I doubt its the same, considering there will be a lot of people with saved phones.

Well, whatever @DLich said, I'm thinking it's pro-ICELS. :) You're way beyond me dude, LOL.

In any case, I'm sitting on my radio's until update 2.2 or something thereabouts. Waiting to see what this better-ways-to-get-more-tokens-business is going to turn out to be.

My but is getting a bit hot though, so we'll see how my resolve holds in the coming weeks.

Ever read the "Foundation" book series written by Isaac Asimov?
In it mathematicians play a big role.
New recruits had to learn to relate their math reasoning to non-math people without using any math at all.
This idea appealed to me when reading those books.
And you give a great example of how hard that actually is to do for real.
    :)

Wow my math can use a lot of work maybe I will check this series out :)

Spoiler alert: in that series it's the mathematicians that set out to save the universe.
