I'll ask what happens to stored crates. I think the contents are generated when the crate is created, not when it is opened.
Thank you for looking into this. It's kind of important for many players in my guild, myself included. IF the previous change to Challenge Rewards is any indication, it appears as if the reward has an identifier when achieved (something like Guild Team Reward Level 5), but there may be a separate Reward Table that identifies the actual reward (something Like Guild Team Reward Level 5 = 800 Trade Goods), and then the two are linked when the reward is cashed in. I only guess that since when we went to one Guild Challenge a week from two and the rewards were changed, all of the rewards earned (and stored) from the previous Challenges were converted to the new reward structure.
Any info on this, and the new reward structure would be extremely helpful for players to decide whether to cash in their crates before or after the update.
I'm sorry...I just gotta say, after reading this whole thread...more pacifying...nothing substantial...blah blah blah...
@Shteevie what about the players that built around luck? You sorta just said ....stuff coming...stuff will work out...balance....future fabulousness....really?
I'm not clicking like or agree here...just more of the same from a diff staff member...
@tammy Sorta underselling his posts imo. Between the pacifying there is actual information too. Obviously the worth of it will be in the open by 2.2, at least a bunch of the stuff he's talking about will be live by then, and then we can actually gauge what we think of how 'stuff' works out. It's a long, frustrating, wait. Believe me, even the very patient guys like me know that feeling all too well. But not quite the same as before. The 'stuff' is way more, and way more extensive, than I have personally seen so far.
Sounds like updates are more or less intended monthly. If I am correct the 2.2 update should be live several weeks before the start of season 7. Doesn't sound like a very long time to wait to me, considering the amount of work that goes into this 'stuff'.
The lack of luck isn't a problem. The problems are repeatable maps in challenge. Why we need high luck? Mostly to avoid walkers on rec lvl 30. If somebody care badly about stars then yes.. They counting on luck. Fortunately NG want to get rid off those maps thanks to GC. Of course ppl who spent $$ to build their team are pissed off. It's normal reaction.
Yeah, for those that $$-ed their way to a specific combination of traits and such I really hope that the changes don't completely ruin what they were 'gunning for'.
Oh Amiga you've been so nice lately why you want to take a poke at Tammy? I remember she has been on your side when it wasn't so popular.
If the changes to luck don't bother that's great but I'm sure the people who are upset about it is not limited to people who spent money. It's not always about money. I'm sure there is at least one person who hasn't spent money that is also upset with the luck nerf. Every update they nerf something either a survivor class or radios by adding more heros or they take away deadly missions. I don't want to argue with you I want to get some stars but no need to poke at someone when you disagree. One day they may nerf something you like and it bothers you but it won't bother someone else. Imagine if they went back to the old XP values for kills! You wouldn't be happy would you! Great example right!
No it was the part about "people like Tammy who spend money to build their team are pissed." It sounds a tiny bit insulting. If that wasn't your goal then my mistake but that's what it sounded like to me.
I'm sure ppl using real money to build team are more upset. Isn't it? Sometimes my sentences are wrong received... English isn't my native. My apologies. Hope @tammy will understand it.
Agree wirh @Amiga on the repeatable maps, my soultion is when the required level of the mission is more than +3 (so if you had max survivors at the moment that would be req lvl 23) then the mission becomes old school deadly.
@Shut_Up Agreed that every time fundamental things get changed there will always be perspective from which it will be disadvantageous. I am sure there will always be people in that perspective. In my mind 'nerf' implies intent though, and I doubt that making adjustments to the realm of luck for instance are intended to be disadvantageous.
I disagree with you @MadPuppy about intent and crap. Not all changes made by NG are for the better and it doesn't matter if they meant to or not. To not fully understand the consequences of the changes they make to the game and then for them to realize the fix needs a fix doesn't give them a free pass. The luck nerf solves nothing whether with or without intent.
@Shut_Up big thank you...I'm not offended though... @Amiga says things a bit funny but I don't think he was aiming specifically at me...and this is a forum to discuss the game...peeps are gonna have different opinions and all are valid
I've been playing since almost the beginning, and yes I've spent a lot, cos I'm not as cleaver at it as a lot of peeps and spending helps me play it at the level I like...
But having been here so long, I just get a lil jaded at seeing yet another staff member pushed out into the community, with the hopes of pacifying those who are not happy.
It's ok though...ill just go back to my lil corner, and throw my tantrum quietly....kill some zombies...and wait...
@Shut_Up I think you and I are still on terms of a no-hard-feelings discussion, correct? My assumption here is that your strong sentiment is toward the issue, not me.
Under that assumption I think I'd like to agree to disagree for now. My reason being that obviously I feel more sympathetic to Next then you do right now. I obviously cannot speak for Next, and neither can you, so it's your assumptions against mine. Hope you agree.
I very much hope that whatever they roll out will improve things for you (and of course for as many others as possible).
I find it interesting that, though I wasn't here at the time, one of the driving factors behind removing deadly missions was the preservation of items of value that a player may have spent real money or invested hundreds of hours into. Since I have started at Next and we've announced the new free daily radio calls, some people were calling it a bad idea and stating that this was something they didn't want.
We all have different tastes in games. Not everyone plays hardcore, and I'm sure there are some who only play hardcore. Some people save scum and others never play side quests. Gaming, as in life, takes all kinds.
The philosophy behind the Luck changes is to make the game fairer for everyone, and to cause the least amount of hard feelings in the process. Of course, some will be upset. We could make Luck better and some would be upset. We thought that, with the first plan [no more stacking] that players would move their gear to other characters and 'spread the luck around'. Since that idea didn't go over well here, we went to a new plan that still allows stacking, so that you can keep your team build the way it is.
It's our hope that this change, along with all the others coming in 2.1 and 2.2, sets the stage for a great experience not only for those of you that have played since day 1, but also for those that tried, left, and may return, and those that will find us for the first time. This is how you build a player base and how you maintain a game for as long as you can. You have to build as big of a net as possible, without giving up on the players you already have.
There will be new missions, new walkers, new council levels, new heroes, new ways to get Tokens and in larger numbers, improvements to the special calls, and many new rewards for basically continuing to do what you are already doing. To those of you that have been playing for a long time, this might look like a lot of free bonuses and rewards. I'm sure I'll read some "Back in my day, we didn't have it so easy" posts referring to when rewards were more scarce. To new players, we want them to see what you saw in the game, and join you on the ride. That's how we will be able to keep the game alive for everyone the longest.
Sure, there will be changes. Hopefully, it'll be a long time before we ever have to restore balance through a nerf. But a gacha system with only one good reward is no fun for anyone. Veteran players feeling like they have the best stuff is good for a little while, but grows stale and stagnant quick. We need to allow for more than one good build, and for a wider range of possible new traits down the road.
Next isn't abandoning the veteran players, nor do we take the money and time you have spent lightly. We think that you will have more fun with less repetition, a broader selection of good builds, and more people to play with and against; so that's what we're building towards. If my words don't sway you, I hope our work will. If you are still unsatisfied after you have seen what we're offering, I'll be here to take my lashings here on the forums. But I believe in my game, my team, and our player base. You are the people we're working for, as much as anyone else, including AMC or the company's investors.
2.1 is on the way, just as soon as we can get it onto your devices. 2.2 won't be far behind. By then, we'll have plans through to the end of Season 7 of the show, and possibly beyond. There's a lot more good stuff on the way.

Have a good weekend Amiga.
I'm always on Tammy side. Strange you took it other way round. About lottery it was a pure joke
My whole team is also lucky friendly...

Whoever hired you to be a on the forum did a GREAT job!
For some reasons I was angry at first, but the post that you did just above gave me a change of heart.
All those new info especially the logic behind the changes makes a lot more sense now.
You have brought light to the end of the tunnel and I think that is what everyone needed!
@Shteevie I'm gonna get a paddle ready just in case
