Mission modifiers

Based on the way the current scavenging missions work, I have an idea that i think would make that a little less predictable.

What if a possible rare reward for these missions was a modifier you could activate on your next mission which would increase the difficulty and possible rewards based on the type of modifier rewarded? For example you could get a modifier which would "ignite" all enemies in the next mission. Flaming fatties and armored walkers would certainly change up our strategy. Or perhaps the enemies gain X movement tiles per turn, they could radiate disease, have immunity to range or melee, maybe even a combination of bonuses.

The possibilities are there to add some creative excitement and really force people to reconsider strategies that always work. And, of course, maybe earn some unique item rewards only available based on the modifier.
