They are dazzling us with rewards & stars (Lots of people in my guild are amazed they hit 500, where I have told them that they should be getting about 650+)
Which mmorg game isn't a unlimited grind?? Play lineage 2 or WoW This is more simple game but mechanics is the same. If you will not repeat 3 times then what you will do for next few days ?
LOL, or maybe there is something outside that is way more fun do do?
You mean real life?????? Is it still exist?
BTW I see most of us forgot the pain doing first RSL 2-15 in old challenge....
Playing a game is "real life"
Revolutiongamer is recruiting 200+ star players - search for Revolutiongamer and request to join today!
As a new thing this challenge is still cool, more fun then the old version, has some new rewards (which I strongly suggest should scale with increase of difficulty), but as someone mentioned after a few weeks it will turn into a second job.
If you're not running a gas booster or sink a pile of gold (assuming your limit is not at RSL -1/+1, but you can reach RSL+4 and above) in order to max out your stars you need to: - play first thing after you come from work, last thing before you go to sleep, first thing in the morning and some time in between. During weekend/day off you need to squeeze every last bit of gas you can; - buy all the gas from TG shop, watch loads of adds; - carefully consider your possible free time before challenge ends to decide if you can afford to replay for an accidentally lost star; - calculate probability of reaching the next threshold (when the real mess starts), or if it's even worth the possibly wasted gold and gas.
At least that's pretty much what I did. I've maxed out on Sunday, late evening, which was my only free day during this challenge. Used around 30 gold for healing (yes, I believe I've stopped at the right moment - 920 stars, not that I had enough time/gas to reach 980 stars), got 40 gas from TG shop, about 60 from cinema ads and probably about 100 from post mission crates. Only 4 gas used for 1 lost star replay, 8 stars lost in total by the 25/2. Pretty sure I could hit 1k+ if I had another day, but that's irrelevant.
To sum up, - I find it somewhat exhausting. This is supposed to be a game, not a second life... So, I'm pretty sure I won't be doing this again, at least not to this extent. And I believe it's a matter of time before regular people are getting fed up with this way of things.
I was never so knackered before like now.. This challenge was really challenging. I played till today. In old challenge I finished mostly 2 days earlier.

I agree - the game is now about who can put the most time in. For those of us that work, I don't think it's going to be possible to max out?
I hit my max easily but I've used every single gas..so yes it is time consuming more than earlier. But more time = better rewards. My time is rewarded pretty good...

Well, I could grind out 2x 1 stars on 26.4, to get the extra 26 stars, but I reckon it will take me a couple of hours and a few hundred gold (based on getting stars on 26.4 so far).
Whilst I have the gold, I no longer have the time (at work now )
After playing 1,5 years starting from the first release and kept my 2nd position in top player list in Finland and after the first Challenge 2.0 I decided to keep my time and money from the game and going to occasional casual player without paying
Nice that so many are happy w Challenge 2.0. But in the POV of lv20 characters player, it is even more time-consuming and dull grinding than previous 1.0. 1-hour cool down does not help at all. Now to me it is impossible to find anymore enough time slots IRL - or reasons to pay for time game. Two experiments of removing cooldown were great but NG decided and try to lockdown players even deeper how they use their time.
NG does not want change the only point of the game: grinding and paying of it. There are several modern techniques to generate missions by algorithm (like in Boom Beach), use player-build PvP (like in Compass Point West of NG), scale automatically missions individually and so on.
I dont remember who defined this tactic and business model as "chew and swallow". I want to eat some fresh and variant
Yeah just finish at 1.1k stars. Could have push for more as things just interesting and challenging. However by the time I got there I was already burnt out from grinding out that 1k star just to make it "challenging. Was also dissapointed in the rewards at this high in stars.
I love 90% of the new rework... Just something may need to be done about that 3x grind... Or at least start it +3 your level or something...
Tip my hat to JVC_TWD (DTPx2) and Nicolas (DTP) for your challenge scores this week. JVC_TWD finished with 1309 stars and Nicolas finished with 1304 stars . I finished with 1282 and would have had an additional 28 stars if I could just get past the double trouble mission on the last quarter of level 27. Couldn't do it though. Tried every combination of survivor. Pretty tough when you have to kill to level 28 tanks and then two more tanks spawn… LOL! Anyway, big props to both of you. Would love to know how you got past that one.

Awww man if ever there is an argument for scaling in the RNG this is it!!
I pulled 20+ hero tokens twice early on in the challenge and thought NG had seriously turned the taps on, my later rewards were much less exciting, 15 shooter and maybe 12 bruiser? Can't remember but something like that?
COMPLETELY AGREE BigRich! Rewards started out very good and made me optimistic about the update. Then the progression stalled, leaving me with the 'wtf' thought as I grinded it out level after level after level. Even the crates maxxed out at 1000 per.
I will still push to get maximum stars (for my guild) but they need to do something about the higher level payouts... like they said was going to happen when announcing the update
I love the changes, but it takes too much to reach an high level of RSL which makes it challenging.
It takes too much of your time and on the long run it will not fix the main reason veteran quit the game: REPETITIVE.
Complete three times each scenario to level up? It's too much, it should take two times.
Token rewards are disappointing, I am fine with 10-20 hero token, they feel rewarding, but around 650 stars I had around 15 assault tokens... seriously?
Well for me the new look challenges are still a grind. A grind with better rewards and less low level missions but still a grind. Good thing i love the grinding pain. I have countless, thousands of accumulated Diablo series hours (yes, since D1, i am that old), so i have to love the pain, right? So still playing NML and D3 hehe
After playing for about a year, I quit for good on Saturday of the first new challenge. I found the new setup to be extremely boring. They got rid of the low level, but kept the grind in full force. I really thought that how far you can get in the challenges should be based on how good a player you are, and how good your survivors and gear are. Instead, it is based almost completely on how much of your life you are willing to let this game suck away from you. Why should it be that you have to put hours into playing the same 6 missions repeatedly just to get to a level that is even moderately challenging? Why is there a need to replay the same rsl 3 times in a row? We all know that the answer is to not reduce the amount of boosters sold. I got really bored with the grind, and realized that NG isn't likely to make any substantial changes that make the game exciting again. For those reasons I will find more productive things to do with my time than grind away at challenges.
I think NG has a difficult problem on their hands... how do you keep people interested without the grind?
1) Farming tomatoes and xp is quite repetitive but ppl do it in order to progress... so the grind is ok. 2) Outposts is also repetitive but again since it's for TG's... I'm still ok with the grind...
So now we have challenges... and NG simply kept the same formula of repetition... but in this case... you don't really get anything out of it that you can't get from 1 and 2 from above (except for the chance of hero tokens).
What people want is a challenge and not more grinding... but it seems almost impossible to make a challenge last 3-4 days without grinding...
So my only possible "fixes" 1) Add an auto fight button... the AI plays for you, you get 3* for ez levels and use up your gas... 2) Put class restrictions on the missions... ex: you can only use warriors / bruisers
But unless someone comes up with some novel idea, I don't see how we will escape the repetition in challenges...
Fatties is next, so more of the same and harder to continue. Last challenge I got to lvl 25 I think, this one I stopped at 24 so I wouldnt waste time in the hospital

Anyway how about something like;
>250 stars = 10-20 tokens
250>500 stars = 20-30 tokens
500>750 stars = 30-40 tokens
750> 1000 stars = 40-50 tokens
1000>1250 stars = 50-60 tokens
This would reduces the burn.
