Does it make sense to spend 4.5 million xp on lvl 24 armor for less than 70 hp boost???

Hey survivors from around the world...

After a few weeks of scavenging and upgrading to lvl 24 equipments, Does it make sense to spend 4.5 million xp on lvl 24 armor for less than 70 hp boost???

How is that going to make a difference towards a lvl 27+ walkers hit???

If you compared lvl 21 to 22 to 23, there are larger increases compared to such a small boost from 23 to lvl 24.

Shouldn't going to lvl 24 armor have a larger boost in hp instead? Spending 4.5 mil xp is not a great and doesnt make sense vs the walker buffs and comparing the progression ratios of 21, 22, 23, to 24.

Thank You and I hope someone out there is seeing this the same way I am.

Update: seems NG may be looking into this and could possibly be better than how it is now!

It's definitely a bug. Damage and health values should increase by 19% per level, see my analysis below (originally from this thread)

Below are some numbers for legendary weapons/armors for end gamers (does not factor in Lethal or Health Boost). It appears that damage and health, on average, increases by 18.8-19.1% every level. There are a few holes in my gear inventory, but I listed everything that I have. I also listed approximately how much damage/health level 24 equipment should have, based on past trends. I don't actually have any level 24 gear myself to verify because I'm a n00b.

I think NG has acknowledged the bug and are "looking into it."

    Hello all,

There does seem to be an issue with the armor shown in the screenshot above. I would ask that players who have increases to armor or damage of less than 100 points when upgrading from 23 to 24 please submit a support ticket through the game so that we can track these cases. We'll investigate and determine a cause and a correction. We may not be able to do anything immediately, but knowing the players who have seen this issue will give us more data for identifying the cause.

Can I ask @David_H79 when you originally got the item you are describing in the post? Was it in the first day after 2.5 released?

And this is what bothers be terribly about how NG handles these situations. No word or any kind of acknowledgement until an incredibly detailed analysis is provided by the community (thank you @JayZ) that throws it back into NG's face with all the leg work done for them of the problem. What if no one bothered to run down the numbers? Just a whole bunch of complaints from the community, with NG waiting until it "blows over?" Then discussions at the corporate office about how "it seems like they're doing well enough" and "no point in changing anything now," assuming that they ever even realized the error on their end.

I realize that this is going off into rant territory and that they've announced balance changes, but a little communication never hurts. Whether they did catch the errors on their own or were made aware by the community, it seems like they've been working on them based off of the announcement. Still at some point along the way, they could have made it known that they were looking into several of the things that there were complaints about, or that they had noticed. Even if they wouldn't be making changes, a "we're looking into it" is better than nothing.

Yes thanks @JayZ -- I also made the point in another post and tagged @Shteevie and @Teeceezy to see if it could be considered that higher level weapons (like higher level/pink star survivors) could also decrease chance of body shot (weapons) and critical hit chance (armor), and increase dodge chance (dodge). I think 50-100 HP/damage increase is less important than these other things, although I agree they should stick to the 19% formula -- or maybe even HIGHER now that the walkers are all buffed -- with regards to flat stat increases. It's a waste of 4.62M XP.

There is an obscure mention that they will look into it here in this thread. A much more visible posting, thread, or sticky may be in order but no one should be surprised at this point. No one should be surprised that they need our help tracking the problem. Update is 20 days old by the way.
