In my case, in both the challenge and the distance today, the game is constantly not picking up my moves correctly in the way it should given how I touched screee and/or not picking up anything at all for a few seconds when/after I touch the screen, both of which have led to my strategy getting totally messed up as well as my survivors ending up heavily injured due to a wrong move or no move actually even being made — thus I have been ending up with heavily injured survivors, dismal progression in the distance on the levels I wouldn’t have had the same problems with as I have today and/or really low stars earned in the challenge missions compared to what I’ve always done and was able to do until today when this all started.
All of it has gotten so bad, that I have honestly taken a break from playing for the day, just hoping the issue will get better because it’s just not worth trying to play right now, due to the way it’s getting stuck/freezing/acting up right now for whatever reason. Not to mention, when I was trying to play it was just really frustrating having constant missed moves or wrong moves that led to quite unfavorable outcomes, lol.
Anyone else dealing with this? I am playing and have always played on an iPad Air 2, with all the most recent updates downloaded.
Since few days, my game stops loading after +-30 seconds. The loading bar goes full 100%, the first window pops up with the bundle sale, than it crashes. Can not arrive to the camp to collect my stuff neither play the game. Anybody can give me help and advice? I have restart my device completely, delete all cookies, nothing helps. Can I delete the app, reinstall it and enter again with my username and recover my old score or do I have to start all new again? Any help welcome. Thanks. Clyde

I would only do that as a last resort. If you have your game backed up on Google Play or Apple Store you should be able to recover it.
Keep note of your player level, in game name and guild. A screen shot of these might come in handy if you have any trouble.
@TJS Thanks a lot, just now I was able to take a screenshot as the game was loading up to the camp and than crashed again. I will try to delete the game and reinstall again. May be it works otherwise......will send a ticket to support to recover my old game. Sheers Clyde

Do you know what you were doing in the game before these issues?
Press 3 fingers on the screen for 10 seconds while the game is loading it should take you to the help menu, click contact us and send a support request if you are able to.
If you uninstall and reinstall the game and can’t find your save game, please take a look at instructions for lost game:
@zbot I use ipad2 Have no problems with other games and run the last version of TWD. Before issu appeared, I was collecting the goodies in the camp, upgraded my survivors and checked the outpost, logged off and when trying to log on few hours later, the problem was there. I tried the thingy with 3 fingers, the help window poppes up but it's stucked, can not select anything. I will send support request to contact us listed below in the forum (guess it's the same than in help menu). Cheers Clyde
Oh, wait, I just notice there is a new update for today, I will update this 2.8.1 update right now and will come back to you when finished and when I tryed again to start the game. Cross my fingers. Clyde
Back again. After a bit more than 2 weeks, I finally decided to delete the game from my device. I reinstalled it, and when install was finish, I started the game as newbie, got to the instruction on how to move your players in the game, than, after game center welcomes me back to the game, a window popped up asking me if I would like to recover my pld game from level 58, I said yes and all is done. Soooo easy????? Yes. Should have do this already on Dec.3 from advice from TJS. But I was waiting for help from support, but no big help arrived unless sending me a mail with instructions as told by zbot above. Anyway, as I didn't like to wait any longer for a concrete answer from support, I decided to do what I did. During the 2 weeks, I could not collect anything, like +- 6 million supplies, 1.3 million XP and about 15k trade goods. I don't expect NG will send me all this, should be nice for x-mas gift Anyway, players who have same issue than me should be sure to have registered their game in game center, make a back up of your device before deleting the app, reinstall the game and follow the instructions for restoring the previous game they were playing before game crash.
