well for people who has only only 20 level survivors and heroes (more than 3 like me) it was much harder last week, i got into 500 something stars and sometimes i can go to almost 800.
that could be logical since we need to upgrade to get to same level than the top players but it takes really a lot of time and grinding to get to next level (cant even imagine how much time we will need to get to the max level and i play all days)
maybe they can find a balance between the high level players but dont make it even more harder than it is alreadt for mid level players, thats it.
Ultimate challenge or normal chalenge it doesn't matter. It is both the same old shit. It would be nice to get new missions in the challenge. This would bring the fun back.
Sorry to jump on thread but has any staff or NG representatives confirmed if the challenge is coming back? And if so when? My guys loved the ultimate challenge and prefered it but are geeting restless. Would be great for a staff member to just confirm if they are bringing it back or not. Its obviously clear to see that most prefer it.
@rebirthunion They haven't said anything about making this permanent. They just wanted to hear peoples thoughts on it so they could plan any future changes
@_Lily_ Hope it don't take them long to decide its been over a week now. I don't mind it either way however I have found it very grindy this challenge from last challenge. I under It was a trial. Maybe the next update? But when will that be? Xxx
There are no plans to make the Ultimate Challenge permanent, however we will be running special challenge-based events in the future as well. As always, your feedback is very much appreciated.

Worst news I think I've ever heard during my 2+ years playing this game. I echo @TJS 's sentiment of questioning how much of our feedback is valued. The feedback regarding the Ultimate Challenge was OVERWHELMINGLY in support of making that format permanent. It wasn't even close. Ugh, and just this past Saturday, I posted in the Hero Week 2 thread that NG has been "knocking out of the park" the past few weeks. I guess I'll have to retract that statement, given the retraction of the ultimate challenge being the new norm (yes, I understand nobody ever said it WOULD be the new norm, but I think the overwhelming assumption in the community, based on the overwhelming positive response to that format, was that it would in fact be the new norm...and soon).
Man, we thought the exodus of long-time players was bad after 2.8 - don't be surprised if it's even worse after this dreadful news.

Maybe I should scrap all my pink star survivors then just use only legendary survivor so they'll bodyshot any walker 5 level & above them without using piercing weapon & charge attack. Then suddenly I'll be using way less total gas to reach challenging level & I'm be in very very easy grind of every weekly challenge.

I'll take your word that it was more difficult - but personally, I don't see that as a bad thing.
As far as stars, I know I'm beating a dead horse, but it's completely meaningless. Since the last update lowered starting difficulty and increased the grind, I have been able to get regularly to 1400-1500 stars per challenge. During the Ultimate Challenge Event, I barely got to 1,000. You know why it doesn't matter? Because rewards were scaled, so the fewer stars had no actual impact on the rewards I got for the effort. And because stars were reduced for everyone, the playing field was still fair for all players and guilds.
So I lost nothing, but I gained loads of time and enjoyment.
Analogies here are always dangerous, but I'll try one: If your income gets reduced by 30 percent, that can be painful. But if the cost of everything you buy (rent/mortgage, cell phone bill, utilities, groceries, etc.) is also reduced by 30 percent, then you are in exactly the same position you were before the change. If everyone in the world also has the same reductions, then the relative difference between everyone is still the same.

@Teeceezy I don't want to put words in your mouth and I don't want to read too much into what you're saying...
Last we heard 'data was being analyzed' in order to determine if changes would be made, such as whether permanent adjustments to the challenge would be made (either tweaks or fully implementing the Ultimate challenge). Your message gives me the impression that the data has been analyzed and a decision has been made... no permanent changes will be made. Am I reading too much into your statement, or is this accurate? If it's accurate, then it's borderline awful news for some of us (it's definitely ugly crying in the fetal position news, right @Jenng?).
Everyone’s got two wolves inside them. One is anger, envy, pride. The other…truth, kindness. Every day they tear each other apart. But it’s not the better wolf that wins. It’s the one you feed.
There are no plans for me to buy a Gas Booster, however I will be spending more time with family and friends in the future as well. As always, NG’s listening to our feedback is very much appreciated.

I don't think all the long time players leaving the game feel the appreciation.

B-b-but why!?! This game is being mindless boredom!!
I am extremely disheartened by the decision by NG to not cut out some of the challenge grind with 2.9. The grind is unbearable, and the further we take our teams (survivor level, pink stars, the more legendary badges), the more mindless the grind becomes. NG should not be okay with a game that is mindless, they should be doing their best to make the game fun.
I'm sure it's been considered, and I haven't combed through all of the comments to see who may have suggested this before, but it seems to me that the main gripe of the people who do not like the ultimate challenge are either concerned with star count or with lost supplies/rewards. While those opinions are very "in the box" thinking, the attempts by players (but not by NG) to explain that the rewards are better and star count doesn't matter have not been successful--what matters is how far you can push your team in terms of difficulty level by building up your team and improving in strategy. To cut down the grind and still have similar rewards (I'm not going to do the math here, as that would add to the grind even more), why not cut the number of rounds needed for a round pass to 3 rounds? Those who routinely get to lvls 30, 31, 32, and so on, would see more round passes and cut the grind, and those at lower camp levels will get the supplies and stars they want. My proposal is a short term fix until a better, permanent solution to the grind can be implemented.

In regards to this subject, the feedback was overwhelming and in support of a change.
I have to question how much our feedback is truly valued.
Disappointing to say the least.

But to be honest I don't think it makes sense at all to burn out your players...

@Teeceezy @Fearofabotplanet @Shteevie Can you implement a short term fix so you don't lose your veteran players?
Again, my main point is to cut the number of rounds needed to one round pass for every three rounds completed.
