Holed up in a corner at the top of the map with Sasha and 2 assault and just got some good luck the tank started walking away from my team. I was able to set 2 tanks on fire and then the waves of zombies started happening which acted as a barrier in which the tanks couldn't get me and kept stunning all the zombies over and over with Sasha. The last tank must have got killed off screen by the Freeman.
the whole game has got so crap I dont even do it anymore. I did distance diligently twice a week Now I don't even do it to get the basic badges.. BECAUSE the game is DEAD .
Quick question - when do people think that Hard Mode becomes a better option? My survivors are moderately well geared lv21, but I assumed that lv23 is pretty much the sweet spot for changing mode.
@DrUnpleasant I think as soon as you can get to the first set of Aaron tokens, the hard distance makes more sense. For me that was around level 19 survivors. Normal mode makes sense if you need supplies, but other than that, rare fragments and more tokens just make the hard distance better overall. It’s also just more fun.

Thanks for the comment - yeah, I'm still gathering supplies in order to hop another 2 levels to 23 as soon as possible - farming XP on some maps with Maggie is also pretty good. The downside, as you say, is that Easy is just a walkover from lv19 onwards... finished it in less than 1.5hrs at the weekend, but I guess that can be a positive some weeks.
@DrUnpleasant good luck! I think the biggest issue with hard mode for me is the sheer amount of gas required. When it’s weeks like this with 100 Abe tokens, I’d to play the distance twice per day (4x for the week) if at all possible, but the amount of gas required to do that on hard mode is insane. I think I need about 120 gas to get to the epic components (where I usually stop), which is 20 hours of gas recharging!
Thanks for posting rewards! I’m just starting to upgrade team to level 21, and choose which route to go based on the rewards you post here. I’m always 1 damn map away from getting those Aaron tokens before I can’t move on. I usually switch back to regular mode when I need certain hero tokens, but miss earning badge fragments.
I spent a long time only getting to the first Aaron tokens on Hard Distance. That meant that for me, Normal Distance was often a viable option, since I could finish it easily. It often came down to the tokens. If the tokens at the end of the Normal Distance were better than the ones at the beginning of Hard Distance, then I would do Normal. I also did Normal when we went through council upgrades the the food was handy.
With some pink star upgrades and another level of survivors, I am now regularly making it to the second Aaron tokens on Hard Distance, so I rarely do Normal any longer. But sometimes, if the Hard Distance tokens are crap and the Normal ones are good, I'll go with normal. Like the other week where Hard offered Morgan and Rufus tokens and Normal offered Sasha.

If you don't mind me asking, what level are you now to get to the 2nd set of Aaron tokens, baring in mind a few pink stars needed for later missions?
@DrUnpleasant personally, I was hitting the 2nd set of Aaron tokens by level 21. Past the level 27-28 walkers, stars stop really mattering anyway - it turns into either killing stuff with fire, or sneaking past without killing, etc.

Really?? What the hell am I doing wrong then? I have a handful of level 22 survivors, including a 2 pink hunter/shooter, and I barely make it past the first set of Aaron tokens. How do you make it that far?
@Deadheads there are a lot of levels that involve killing just one or two walkers (or even literally just firing off 2 shots to try to charge with Sasha), then fleeing. Do whatever it takes to keep Sasha alive, and make sure you have a couple weapons that can set fire. I find it also helpful to have as many scouts as possible (level is irrelevant) just to try and reach gates as quick as possible. Professor Earthtones videos on Youtube are also super helpful!
I've hardly managed to play the first distance due to council level requirements ( min. was 18?). Since from the first one i've almost always played hard mode even my survivors were level 19 if i recall correctly. It payed off absolutely, i have a very good badges collection. Getting green fragments was my initial target and they helped a lot.

Might dip in this weekend and give Hard a try.
Of course it's correct. I didn't grab screen shots from just anywhere & look closer in gif. It is there.
That it is, thanks! The gif was apparently moving too fast for my eyes, lol. Damn, 100 abe tokens, too bad I've never gotten to level 33 in hard...
