TJS' MOVIE

SUGGESTIONS

I have decided to make this movie of the week thread where each week I will post a movie suggest. I'm going to suggest movies that are less well known and that I highly recommend watching.

I welcome comments and your thoughts if you have seen the movies I suggest or if you do end up watching them. Try not to put any spoilers in your comments.
You can use the forum spoiler feature for this.

ENJOY!

Excellent movie. Very stark and dark. Takes a little patience to get to the payoff.

Train to Busan is a must see if you're into the zombie genre. Ok, pretentions aside, it's really good if you can do subtitles.

I have some other suggestions in mind but I'll stick to one a week (Thursdays) so I don't run out. I haven't seen either of the movies you guys suggested. I'll definitely check them out.

    MEMENTO

    2000  -  Thriller  / Drama  - 2h

    [DESCRIPTION]
A memory inside a memory, Memento is a complicated head spinning adventure. Leonard is determined to avenge his wife's murder. However, unable to remember anything that happens day-to-day due to a condition he sustained, short term memory loss, he has to write himself note after note that still don't mean anything after he falls asleep. The film goes back in time to reveal each little bit of the puzzle as he tries to find out the person who killed his wife and makes the audience feel just as confused as he is. The narrative closely follows a phone call Pearce has in which he talks about Sammy Jankis a former client of his who he believed had the same condition. The film takes an unexpected twist as the two characters have a lot more in common than is initially put across.

    THIS WEEK'S MOVIE SUGGESTION

Today is my eldest son's Birthday
so this week I've chosen one of
    his favorite anime movies which

In this animated feature by noted Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, 10-year-old Chihiro (Rumi Hiiragi) and her parents (Takashi Naitô, Yasuko Sawaguchi) stumble upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park. [TRAILER]

    [INTERESTING FACT]

@Artisans Train to Busan is really great. I think more than any other Zombie flick it captures the way that huge groups of people move really nicely. They just ram into each other and pile up, none of this shambling in a nice line stuff going on there.

If you liked Train to Busan you might also like Seoul Station, which is set in the same universe and made by the same director as Train to Busan but this time animated. It tells the story of how the outbreak began. The themes are way darker than Train to Busan though, so watcher beware for some creepy stuff.
