It's a game... It's just a game.

I lose faith in humanity coming to this forum.

People whining and complaining because the game they play for free has bugs and issues that the developers don't fix the instant you whine about it. And if you lost money on a glitch of some sort, quit complaining and just ask for a refund. You'll get it easily.

And I can't believe people spend hundreds of dollars on this game. A game that ultimately leads you to nothing.

A console game costs $60, the DLC maybe $20 or $40 depending on how much content comes out. That's maybe $100 for a game that is a continuous, evolving, social experience that can actually be productive in your life.

A game like this is literally the same thing over and over. I'm not knocking the game, I love it. It has just enough strategy needed to be more than mindless gameplay but not require countless hours of my time to play. But it's upgrade this building, train this survivor, kill that walker, repeat, repeat, repeat. And people spend hundreds of dollars on this?

What the heck are you doing with your life where you can spend that kind of money on a repetitive mobile game?

I feel kind of sorry for Next Games for having to put up with all this petty crap.

NG, you guys made a great game. If you can learn to play strategically, then you never need to spend a penny. And that's awesome. Just keep doing what you're doing, don't listen to these privileged whiners.

...Why? Why would you spend so much money on a game?

I'm also amazed how much money ppl can put ino F2P games but it's their choice. Some people spending cash on cigarettes, alcohol, drugs :) others on games. I prefer to buy premium games on PC or few £ on F2P game like this one. Anyway thanks to ppl like @DrBOB we can expect more content in this game :)
@DrBOB first you said that you spend a lot of money on this game then you want refund ;))) funny isn't it. Paradox - maybe think twice before you put £400 on F2P game...

That's actually a pretty good point.

I'm just so baffled... $400 is gas and food for a month. Or about 6 console or PC games. You get wayyyyy more out of those games. So much more.

These kind of mobile games are time killers. Stuff to do when your brain is bored, or during commercials, or on work breaks. It doesn't have a end game or overall purpose. Again, I'm not knocking that model or this game at all. I just can't fathom the idea of someone spending that much money on it. Such privilege...

Don't forget that $400 holds a different value to each person. To some it's a lot of money, to others it's nothing. To each their own.

If i will earn more.. much more then propably I will spend more on this game ;) unfortunately my budget is limited.
Also it's strange that NG devs wants to pull big money on everything instead of making small payments suitable for everybody... even ppl with limited budget.
Gas refill price ect are really expensive

I've spent over $200 and I'm currently broke, so nope not any privilege here. I've played almost every day regardless of my location at any given time. Not a bad price per hour.
Super Bowl nosebleed seats started at $3K, that's for a three hour game.

There were 1 million downloads of NML the first weekend it came out and NG had $10 million usd to start with. And who knows how much revenue the ads alone are bringing in. I'm not convinced that they still need more contributions for the game to advance. Buy gold or not but lets be clear.. This game is not going anywhere.

Alright, I'm wrong about privilege in your case.

So I must ask... why spend $200 on a mobile game if you're broke?

I should should note that I think it's insanity to pay $3,000 to see a football game.

Because most was spent from a Christmas bonus, the rest is just a $5 or $10 gold purchase. $10 a week for my second favorite hobby is fine by me. Up until Thanksgiving I was spending $50 a wee on cigarettes for over 30 years. Now that's money I wish I had back.

Good on you for quitting the cigarettes. That's not an easy thing to do.

$200 seems like overkill. I mean, think of all the places you could've put that money. All you'd be sacrificing is a few weeks of game play.

I could have bought a set of front tires or a tire and a partail, but if I was so smart I would have made more money at a better paying job and it would be a moot point.
And I'm not cashless or going hungry so if I just stay out of convienance stores il be fine.

That makes more sense. "Broke" to me means cashless or just barely getting by.

Still can't fathom $200 on a mobile game, though.

In game purchases have turned out to be a very lucrative business model. Candy Crush pulls in about $300K per day. I have friends who whine about being broke but don't hesitate to spend a few dollars to get to the next levels. It's an addiction.

I've always been prone to video game addiction. When I was a kid, it was limited by the number of quarters I had (and was willing to take) to the arcade. Once gaming went to PCs, it became an issue of time management. Now, I simply refuse to spend money on games.

I have another friend who says the money she spends in a casino is her entertainment budget. If someone spends $x going to see a movie, concert, or play, that is seen as okay but if she spends $x on blackjack, she gets told she is wasting money. To each his/her own, I say.

Instead of asking why would someone spend money on this game, why not ask why does anyone spend money on entertainment?

Ignorance can be fixed. Asking questions is one way of fixing it.

On the other hand, you can't fix stupid. Two different things.

How far disconnected from reality do you have to be to be able to drop hundreds or thousands of dollars on a mobile game?

    This is so sad.

It's not like we are talking about drug addicts, murderers, or child molesters here. If this is the worst thing people do, we're doing okay.

A game ??? do you consider it "just a game", believe me : for NG it is not "just a game" ... it is a business created to make money
There is nothing wrong being a business ... but it is far from "just a game"

Maybe people enjoy the game enough to drop some money on it every once in awhile, who's anyone to judge what ppl do with their money? I've dropped about $500 maybe more on this but that's only in $25 -$50 intervals every week or 2 depending on the pack or where I'm at, some people may want to fast track their game faster if they enjoy it that's their business, if I want to buy a console game I will budget for that as well if need be but really bored of all the console games out there, I also probably put 10k into empire z over a 2 yr span & a lot of people put in way more money then me, I'm now bored of empire z so in the middle of selling that account & moving on as it was fun at the time, my point being it's nobody's business & doesn't effect others in any way how much people spend or don't spend on these games & a really stupid thing to complain about unless others are jealous?? Seems like the only reason to complain. Gas, groceries, food, rent & bills aside everyone has different sources of income & if ppl want to spend their play money on a game that brings them some enjoyment so be it as everyone also has different levels of fun. What people don't think about or remember regarding these
" freemium" games is how do u all think the developers get paid? Or the fact that we get all these events & game updates?? The money needs to come from somewhere to keep this game going or others that people enjoy, if it wasn't for the people that spend tons of money on games like this, the game wouldn't be the success it is today & im sure we would no longer have a game to complain about as the developers would most likely move on to create a different game that will make money & succeed, even candy crush wouldn't exist or be so popular if people didn't spend tons of money on it lol

@BryanBatcher it seems to me you haven't played any other FTP games.. or haven't been in any forum of other games.. Believe me, the money spent here is nothing compared to other game i know. There are always people like that who can and will spend more money for the game they love.
And also, complaining and whining are always part of any forum.. you should get used to it.. i know, at some point, we all lose patience with all this whining, but its part of any forum. And there are rules for this forum, if you think they violated any rules, then you can report them to mod.. that's what the "flag" is for..

My best friend has spent probably 50-60 thousand dollars on a single ftp. I don't know what others he plays but I bet he has dropped some on others.

But he and his spouse also have no kids, no debt, and collectively make somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 grand a year. He is the type who pays first and asks prices later.

He calls spending money on games "skiing" because he considers it a hobby like someone who pays for keeping up skiing equipment (skis, snow gear, slope admission, travel, lodging etc.). If you look at it like that it's not that crazy.

I look at it like my husbands Xbox live subscription or World of Warcraft monthly fee. If I dropped $20 a month on TWD, it's kinda the same thing. It makes me happy, and it's cheaper and longer lasting than going to a movie.
