Feedback thread - Gas in the TGS and next week's proposal

Hey again!
So share your thoughts about:
- The 30 gas in the Trade Goods Shop after every restock during the challenges.
- Next week's balance event (which I'm going to explain now)
For the next challenge week (November 28th), we would like to try:
- More Gas in the Trade Goods Shop after every restock (again)
- Triple rounds starting at difficulty 32 (normally it starts at difficulty 27)
- Readjusted personal, guild and round completion rewards.
So this small progression change only affects high-level players, however, the readjusted rewards will be an improvement for every player that plays the challenge. If you get to difficulty 32, then you play 5 rounds less, which is not great, but it's already something. What we want to try is to work on these small changes until we manage to find something better and stick with it.
I understand that most players have mixed feelings about those changes, but what I've noticed is that it's mainly because of the readjusted rewards, so I'm going to post the list of how it is at the moment and how it's going to be next week. It's a bit long and it's painful to make proper tables on the forums, so I'm going to send you some screenshots. If someone needs the number/text, then I can figure something out later. :P
Rewards:
Round Completion. Note that at round 20 you will get 2000 Trade Goods. The reason is that we didn't want to improve it so much for every player. So if you go already past 20 rounds, you should be getting the same number of Trade Goods you used to get.

Thanks for taking the time to break this down for us! As usual, great job! Hopefully we’ll have more than one week to see how these changes affect everyone over a longer period of time rather than just a snapshot of how it punishes high achievers (as with seeing folks pass you by during challenge that usually lags quite a bit behind you normally)
Great job Kaz, thanks!

I have limited time to play this week so thought I would likely not go as far as normal but with the 30 gas option I've managed to play when I can and I'm on track as a usual week.
The change proposal for next week with the TG looks awesome too.
Good stuff NG!
But all in all, that looks good and fair and will reduce the grind by several stages for end gamers.
Next week has a slight chance of getting me a little more challenge. Time will tell.

2 rounds until LVL 32, once again mid-level are being punished to please endgamers
Expect to lose a lot of players -again...

Got some good gear from post mission crates, I'll have 270 less opportunities next week, not really a great way to go for me.
I barely manage to get to 27 and pass it with 3 rounds..
I'm not sure about the new Challenge format. I'm not sure how many Stars I will lose out on with the fewer rounds. Where's @DLich when you need him?
It takes out a lot of the stress on time management. I can always catch up later If I'm willing to burn my TG.

I think removing 5 rounds not all that long after a council upgrade is a bit of a small bandaid on a much larger wound, but at least it's a bandaid. If the goal is to remove 5 rounds, personally I'd be more interested in rounds taken off the beginning rather than taken off more mid-level missions because I want to see players getting better... max-level, competitive players don't feel all that much of a difference between 20 and 29.3, but giving an extra tier at 29 would give another chance for mid-level players to push their team to a much more satisfying completion, and get better rewards. Plus the best way to get to those very high levels is to be comfortable playing at them, and the more you play them, the less anxious you'll be trying to pass a level. I've seen players with lower level survivors and mostly green badges play at +10 without dropping down to one-star. When the going gets tough, you've got to adjust your teams accordingly and look for the moves that will keep you alive.
Please, let's not get too concerned with star count. Removing rounds is going to mean less stars for everyone across the board, and if any of the changes explored here are permanently implemented, guild leaders will adjust minimums appropriately. But the rewards are being scaled AND, let's not forget, NG is trying to allow us time for the new game mode: Guild Wars. And some extra time with loved ones or other game modes.
Good on ya NG for giving us more than a 1-week dive into this, I hope that the people who were turned off by previous UC formats will learn that by the second week under this format they really won't be losing as many rounds because they will have gotten fewer rp's the week earlier, so they're not missing out on that many missions. Previous UC formats have been placed after reduced body shot weeks or heavy buff weeks so that many players went into the next week with more round passes than usual, so we played even less than if the UC format was properly implemented, and it was the poor planning that really hurt those one-week trials (which hurt the week after as well).
What it doesn't do for me: reduce the grind. If I want to finance it, I would need to do a few raids for every restock/bought gas. So that's the one impact it doesn't have.
That doesn't matter to me, though.
It helps me get to a challenging point in the challenge sooner so I might reach a higher difficulty.
It will help me play Distance and challenge on one day without having to decide which one I will actually do.
If I don't have that much time, I can play in short bursts and am able to do my fair share and finish my dailies in one go (this is what I started to do on my alt accounts).
It also takes away a lot of the pressure - I don't feel the need to check for gas and play to the last drop all the time.
Even if I have to do a few raids to finance the gas, it is still well worth it.

edit: i purchase gas weekly so doesnt affect me either way, just figured give my opinion.
> Can someone calculate which RSL you need to complete in new format to have 1350 starts? Of course assuming perfect rounds. Currently to reach first additional reward (1550) it is 33.2 but I feel that in new format to get there it will be 34.1 or even higher.
@ignas scroll upwards and you will see the table provided by Kaz
Less rounds in the challenge will hurt a lot of egos but thinking long range i like the idea. I really want to give guild wars a go. I would also like to play more distance missions. With the extra gas I have actually started playing outpost again.
People will complain about getting less stars but playing the different game modes will give players more rewards in the end.
Keep the gas, players will learn how to use it.
