Walker Wonderland - fineprint clarification, please

Some clarification wanted/needed @Kaz
So the fineprint says that we will need to buy tokens in the bundle shop and/or restart Distance.
How many more tokens would we need to buy in order to get to the final reward - or how often would we need to restart Distance?
I would prefer to know now if it would even make sense for me to restart then to find out later that it wasn't enough.

What about the bundle shop stuff? How much for how many? @Kaz

You get 1000 max tokens per weeek and there are 3 weeks so 3000 tokens
Probably making a video!

Well, that's 2400 gold if there are no events that make restarting cheaper (which would be nice *hinthint*).
If you don't have the gold and would need to buy it "plain" (so not part of another bundle), that would be 21.99 in Euros. That would be a hard pass for me.
The assault rifle can be found for free (not the looks, obviously, but the traits for sure), only thing interesting would be the stick. And that would be a steep price for that.

The problems we had with the summer campaign:
- It wasn't clear enough whether if you have to restart the distance to be able to collect the RPG
Now we've shown the numbers and every F2P player (that it's somewhere around council level 12) should be able to collect at least the special weapon
- It was too long
Now it's only 3 weeks!
- Very active players ended up with 2k extra tokens after collecting the RPG
The main item of this campaign is the Winter Bow, which you can get without needing to restart the distance and don't even need to play every day. However, if you want to put more effort into it, now you will get some extra rewards. So nobody is being forced to do anything to collect the special weapon, but if you put more effort into it, you should be rewarded accordingly. It'll probably be together with another equipment/gear/radio bundle, but the actual offers are not really set yet.
Ooooo. Yeah. That’s a no from me on the restart. I’m not gonna lie, seeing the math of it and knowing that some rewards are just out of reach , even with doing all quests, buying all tg tokens, completing distances and playing challenges, is a slight bummer and accentuates my lack luster attitude.
Edit: wrong wordage lol

Or is there going to be massive amounts of gold and gas given away?
Big emphasis on the word PAY here because it isn't possible to do distance twice without paying $$$
Whilst I can see that paying players should be able to get better weapons, more gas/gold/radios etc, that exists in the main shop already.
I might have made a couple of small bundle or gas purchases this month, but this now creates a disincentive for me to spend money I would have otherwise spent in the game. On the principle of this event.

It's cheaper to buy Morgan's Staff or to wait for the Hockey Stick to maybe turn up in the bundle shop.
And that really doesn't make much sense to me, other than people wanting to have the feeling they have earned their rewards (even if they actually also paid for them, so they have invested twice).
I like that it's totally upfront but I don't like the costs.
The rifle is a nice weapon if you don't have a good one - but it's not special in anything else but the looks (as in: could find the traits for free - I have the exact same one fully upgraded already)... and the stick is too expensive in regards of money and time invested.
Personally, I would not need a gas booster to get to finish Distance up to level 16 once, maybe not even twice - if I play challenges somewhat less. But maybe I would end up needing to buy full gas tanks a few times... which would further increase the cost.
I am not sure that this has been calculated through very well...

It's still going to be nice to get free stuff. Those who are ultimate grinders will deserve that hockey stick.
I believe it should be something that an F2P player could achieve, but with the cost of restarting distances, I don't think it is possible, which is too bad. Everything else could be planned for an F2P player to achieve it, though, in terms of gas economy.
Still, though, there are great rewards that can be earned just for playing the game though!
You might have missed my post prior to that one.
I agree paying players should get more. I explained that. My view is that is what the shop is for.
I also agree the rewards on the way will be good for those that play.
Where I disagree is that events are excluding FTP and occasional spending players, in respect of getting the top rewards. With the RPG summer event it was about playing full on to get the rewards, whereas now the emphasis is on spending.
I've been less interested in the game for some time now and this just ruined it all for me. Probably gonna quit rather than get further annoyed about it. I am not chasing carrots that aren't even reachable.

I see this whole set up a bit differently - the main advertised prize, the Bow, is available to virtually "all" players. Consider that the top prize. There's no green insta-scrap version, and there's no ambiguity about whether or not you "need" to pay for resetting the Distance to get it. Almost everyone will get the legendary special weapon. Awesome!
The "extra" prizes arent half bad, and give enthusiastic F2P players something to shoot for. For anyone saying "buying Morgan's staff in a bundle is a better option", for cheapskates like me, its NOT an option at all. If I want a multi-targeting bruiser weapon with razor and concussion, this is the probably the only way I will ever see one. And in this reward schedule, its actually possible.
I'm currently sitting on 2340 gold, and seriously considering using my gold stash on Distance resets. If I dont complete each Distance, but rather just get as far as the token rewards, then reset, I'll save quite a bit of gas. Maybe enough to not even need to buy extra gas tanks. *fingers crossed*.
Sure, I'll lose out on some Aaron tokens, and a few others, some Epic components and fragments, but those arent in super limited supply. They will be available literally every Distance after these three weeks. The hockey stick will not..
So, I guess I'm saying the reward structure for this event was pretty well thought out, and not necessarily a money grab. There's actually a very comparable reward set for both F2P and P2W players alike.
Thanks to those who stuck around and read all that.
@Kaz Just by changing the way you present the rewards, you could have made people's reaction a little more palatable. Take for example, an apple to apple comparison with the summer event, the rewards should have ended with legendary winter bow. Everything else should be displayed in a separate tab, letting people know they can get even more rewards. As is, most people look at the rewards, do the token math and think, "it's not worth it" or "i'll never get there".
