Name and last name?

The game doesn’t allow me to change non hero names to more than just one word. So I can put in JohnDoe, but John Doe will be cut to John.

At the same time Rosita and Abe have their last names.

Is it a bug or a feature?

As far as I can remember, the name has to be one string.

John_Doe will work but not John Doe.

Thanks @zbot this is clear. I'm just genuinely surprised with this limitation .. given that some heroes already have a privilege of having more than just one word in the string. Could you move this post to suggestions and ideas, please?

Sems pretty simple. Heroes have fixed names you can't change. Normal survivors have changable names and only accepts alpha numerics, dash and underscore (perhaps some more chars).

Yes please. I want to rename my Bronson to "C. Bronson" or Charles Bronson. He is already a shooter with the perfect trait (Revenge), so I want to commit to this.

Has anyone tried using special space characters, like thin space (0x2009), non-breaking space (0xA0), en space (0x2002), and so forth? You'd probably have to get it on your clipboard using a Unicode reference web site; but one of them might qualify as being in a character set that the field permits (for example, for localization).

Hmmm... I might try it out after work today! 🤔

OK, I tried copying and pasting several non-standard space characters. Every time, after I click OK on the editing text box, the name reverted to what it was before I clicked Edit. That is, it didn't merely strip the space character; it invalidated and ignored the whole edit.
Oh, well... worth a few minutes to try!
