overwatch - which zombie is being targeted?

hi there, so i have been searching and i hope this isnt a redundant question.. is there a way to know for sure which zombie will be targeted from overwatch? the survivors sometimes kind of rotate on the spot towards the respective zombie, but this could be wishful thinking. -it would help with planning, knowing which zombie is covered by each survivor.

-also, overwatch often doesnt work, -right!? this hasnt been such a big deal with zombies, but with human enemies and thier excessive damage it has.

it seems that overwatch targets the closest walker to one of your survivors. if there are multiple walkers that are at the same distance... it seems to be random? (probably based on enemy id that is hidden from us)

It seems to be random. In earlier versions sometimes survivors shot simultaneously on same target and another then wasted his bullet. Don't know does it still happen.

Tried yesterday to leave wounded zombies next to my survivor to avoid noise and let overwatch handle them, but several times overwatch was used on undamaged zombie further away.

In reverse escape challenge my survivors shot crossways, so the one that was standing left shot right and vice versa.

overwatch only attack walkers than move. if they are standing next to your survivor and don't need to move to attack, overwatch will not touch them.

Owerwatch attack only distracted walkers. Update 1.6 changed it a little. Walkers now only attacked when are alarmed.

i agree, but it is the way it works. if the walkers don't move, overwatch ignores them completely.

I wish the Survivors on overwatch were smart enough to know when they have 100% interrupt. I've taken hits when I thought I was covered because 2 people wasted their overwatch attack on the same walker. Perhaps 1 wasn't enough for the kill, but they would have been safe because of their interrupt skill. I play on overwatch quite a bit, but it can be frustrating.
