Red guild wars gas

Hey @Fluxxx
I know you guys are bussy right now with improving guild wars beta version and the upcoming update. But lots of people ask me often, if i know anything about the old red gas there was in old guild wars.
And today i saw 2 similiar answers from some of your guys about it, that you still dont know about how to compensate it. It's month now, you changed the red gas into a fix amount of attacks (what i really like a lot). Maybe the community can help to find some good ways to compensate this.

I have 2 suggestions, that could be a good way to solve this. First is to trade 1 gas in 5-15 RP for the guild wars shop or you can make a red gas trading shop. Like 1 Red gas = 1 normal gas, ...

I am sure, other people here might have better suggestions than my and maybe this could make this change a little bit easier and quicker for you and us.

I like the idea of an exchange of Red Gas for RPs. Not sure what the right exchange ratio might be given some folks paid real money for Red Gas. Anyone remember the bundle cost and how many Red Gas you got?

if it is exchanged for Green Gas, I think the ratio would have to be higher than 1:1 and the exchange would need to be incremental so folks don’t end up with 1000 gas and it takes days to burn down while losing out on the free gas. It would seem like a waste.

But, any communication from NG would be welcomed. @Fluxxx

Does anyone remember how much the red gas cost? In gold or dollars.

I strongly believe that red gas should be traded for a useful in-game commodity, like radios or gold. In-game gas is not valuable to people who use boosters every week (or accumulate enough gas naturally to play challenges). RPs is a cool thought, but I actually ran out of things to buy last war.

I’d rather it just be something EVERY player could use and not complain about. That’s why I want to figure out the original cost, so I can suggest an exchange rate.

Technically I do believe that anyone that purchased in game for $$$ could go through provider and gain a refund for that purchase. I do believe that NG has ample time to figure this out. Worth asking the question and if they deem correct they would directly refund.

As previously mentioned, the elephant in the room that must be addressed is many players paid real world money for that red gas. Thankfully I'm not in that boat, but I do feel for those that paid.

Due to the length of time that NG held on to these particular players real world $$$, compensation should be better than equal to make up for that.

@Fluxxx if not addressed soon this is an issue that is only going to fester as it has the appearance of a swindle......

I never spent money but I did reset distance which did cost gold. Got the res gas from there for GW.

********Here's what I found:

The bottom screen is from a thread of mine, you saved me a job as I was going to search it out! I believe red gas was reduced in price after this thread though, it was extortionate at first and then dropped a lot in price.

@Drunken has the right idea in the other thread on this subject, anyone who ever bought red gas before GW fell to pieces should be able to submit a claim and get a refund.

Okay... so red gas was roughly 60 gold for 1 gas. Buying a radio for gold (which is expensive and out of line with the rest of the game economy) is only 25 gold.

2 radios per spare red gas still doesn't really seem like a fair ratio for the players, but at this point, I think players would rather take that than nothing.

@JayZ I have much respect for you man but on this one I have to disagree. Had NG dealt with this as soon as they took away the red gas, yes. Now, it should not only be an even trade, but we should get more than what the gas was worth in real money value. Interest has accrued.

Yeah and let's face it that many radios probably still won't get us an extra star LOL

either way I said in another gas post this:

Personally if you are like me and all my emails for games and receipts go to one email I save it all I would personally go through each receipt and contest it with your store to see if you could be refunded.

NG has had more than enough time to address the issue especially for those that bought gas. They have not done it and what you spent money on is no longer useable therefore NG has not held up their end of bargain.

I know Apple will refund when a game changes mechanics I assume Droid does to.

Maybe submit a help ticket get the confirmation they are “working it” show this thread and message from NG as proof it’s been more than enough time.

I bet as those refund checks come back the quickly address the gas that people paid for.

But for me I wasn’t playing game at time cause NG pissed me off with their nerfed bundles!

Then I would venture to say that a fair value on gas in terms of money would need to be replaced

Thanks for posting this issue. I am a long time player since inception of the game and a pay-to-play gamer. I spend my fair share of real money and never have complained about NG crap. But my patience with NG is now getting short.

I have significant red gas supply, some purchased, some earned. I expect to be reimbursed in real money for that cost. These ideas of exchanging red gas for radios or gas or gold is nonsense. Any vendor or supplier who sells a product or service is expected to deliver on that promise. Otherwise it’s downright form of stealing from your customers. Shame on you NG!

@Fluxxx it’s time to fix this.

Mine capped at 1000 red gas approx a month before we stopped collecting it. I also believe @SCBMA had similar so long ago wow. I have been very patient and it’s been what 2 years???? Cmon now it’s unacceptable at this point. I spent good amount of money on red gas in that cache also and regret it too because that was before I even knew we capped out of collected in game gas. Once 1000 was reached the only way to add more was to purchase 😆 cmon NG time to make this right after such a long time of waiting.

Strikes me that NGs go betweens answer what NG lets them and ignore the rest. Several valid points have been made about various issues and the threads either get ignored or closed.

I know the wait has been long, but rest assured that Red Gas has not been forgotten. We've been discussing this matter after the last update. There's been a few suggestions on the forum already, and we've also got some ideas for this. I'll share more details about this later on when we've got a concrete solution.
