Matchmaking Unbalanced?

I'm in a guild that has a fair mix of different levels players. I can't seem to understand why we are going against guilds that are so much better than us.  We have 14 members with levels between 60 - max. About 7 are mex level. 

Last season we went well over .500, actually hitting gold 2 tier. All of our wins were close ones and seemed very fair and well balanced. 

This season we went 3-3 on the first war. And now we just finished 0-6 on the 2nd war. We are now Silver 1 somehow. Our members consistent score upper 300s in guild Wars. My issue is: all of our opponents this war have scored in the mid 500s individually. We are getting our butt's handed to us. 

I'm one of the top players in the guild and I have only scored over 400 once. We all agree that we're playing very close to max potential. 

Seems like matchmaking is obviously unbalanced. Is there a trick to matching with fair opponents? Is this a glitch?

Appreciate any help/suggestions.

really the game is unfair in this part, my guild and I faced this same problem, because the game seeks opponents based on their war points and league, not at the level of the players.  Unfortunately, maybe this has no solution because when we are being injured we complain, players with 20x75 guilds intervene saying that everything is perfect, so the support will never look at us from lower levels.

Some tips,

• avoid playing 7, 8, 10 ppl, as the top guilds prefer these to maximize VP for the leaderboards. 
• At the start of the season, anyone can be matched with anyone, so if you are a relatively weaker guild, maybe wait a few days before first battle, so you will more likely be matched with guilds that lost the initial rounds, and you may be more competitive with them, until you can grow stronger.
• Thing should normalize after a while, in the beginning you may get some rough matchups, but hopefully you will get some more even matchups after that.
• Don't do bonus sectors, they seem like they will help, but they are really just a waste of attacks
• Do the highest level maps you can, within what you are willing to do in terms of tool usage and spending gold to heal
• coordination is key, if possible use external app like discord to help communicate
• track your opponent by monitoring their sector score changes, it will give you great insight into what they are doing, and if it is worth "going for it" or not.
• use something like Jubjab's GW google docs spreadsheet to help coordinate/track what your team should be tackling, and how to maximize your scores

Last season we went about 50% and we hit top tier, we arent a top 50 global guild, but we do have some top tier players who all can score. 

We avoid a lot of huge guilds by running teams of 6. Also we split teams up to ensure we can run a similar pattern. We basically all know what maps we are doing before we start. Our scores for 6 person team is about 5k which isn’t great but it’s good enough to beat other mid tier guilds. We finished 34th this past week first time we’ve ever we dipped into top 40. 

I think match making is harsh the first half because guilds are still balancing out. But once it’s going it’s more fair. It’s just doing the tips listens above to prevent running into better guilds.

We are top 15 global last week which means next week will face even harder teams and probably get knocked down a fair bit

Looking for a guild who has been stinking in GW and has struggled. Can score between 600-700 everyday and only wanna win.

That rank has got to be a visual bug.  My guild is wimpy casual so reset to Bronze 3 but we seem to be fighting a Bronze 1 too. So that doesn't make sense.  Doubt WW was really reset to Bronze 1

Same thing here. It’s only a visual glitch, doesn’t reflect the actual tier.

yes it is actually a bug, our family guilds have the same opponents with Bronze 1.

The disparity between teams was worse today than I've ever seen it.  They were scoring 600 plus  for their 2 highest players against our upper 300 for highest 2 players.  This wasn't fun for anyone.  How could they be bronze?

600+ it's not so big score, more than 500 players score that and it's only that I'm find

Yes, many teams can get great scores.  Maybe one day we will too.  600 is a great score by our standard, maybe not yours.  That's great.  It issue is that teams are put in levels so as a really good team gets the challenge of playing against a really good team.   The issue has always been that it seems impossible to set up a system that that allows for such a diverse number of teams so that teams can be challenging to each other regardless of how many years they have been playing for example.  I planned on trying the D level for the first time to see how it went,  but being so outclassed, I decided that since a loss was evident, that I would not waste my tools.  It not the losing of a game but there is no learning and/or challenge for at least one team.

1 week each season it's a pure random, we have fight Mavs OG (1 place) Vs SomeOne outside top 200 and we have fights TLOU Vs Stay Alive or Red Snow Vs RottingInHell so understand you worry about it but it's part of the game and need more efforts from NG to bring equality on the scale. From week two it will be little bit easy  for you guild find you power opponent

I guess I was expecting a better match up for this first week.  Wasn't there a change that instead of everyone starting the first war at Bronze 1 that each guild will go back one level this time.  For example, gold 1 teams would go back to silver III etc..  I'll reread the notes provided to see.

• The reset brings your guild down to 25% of the VP at the end of the season

• The amount of VP at the beginning of the season cannot exceed 30 000 VP

this will be better, but not resolved problem 

• The reset brings your guild down to 30% of the VP at the end of the season
