    @Sleestak

Yeah me too. I'm starting to really be able to empathize with the maxed out players as well because I'm a level 49.

I feel I might want to add to this, since I'm one of the members that left sleestak's guild, and the most recent, and I really miss the group and am sad that I left because of NG's strategy. I joined this game because I am a fan of the show and like a game I can play when I have free time. It's a decent story-line, game-play, and the social aspect is fun. Now, I've advocated against the 2 challenges a week since it started. Zombie Bruisers (slee's guild) is not a high pressure star's guild, but there is a competitive nature to contribute as much as you can, especially since ZB was so close to breaking the top 50 global list... I unfortunately can't keep that obligation anymore, and it did become more like work than fun.

I feel like a broken record at this point, but if the challenge system benefited higher players and was incentive based, great, but to be on a stupid list of top 50 and that's the only thing it gets us as a benefit, forget it. There is NO benefit to doing well in this game. You get shitty unusable gear, you have higher costs with every update BUT XP is not increasing at the same level, you have to contribute to 2 challenges that earn you nothing and are a waste of time. I did it for a while, and likely would have dealt longer, but I have a baby that is farrrrr more important on my time. For any upper level player that isn't complaining, that's because they have nothing to do other than game in life.

There are several ways to fix this, it's not one answer...
    1. Add rewards for excelling
    2. Make part of upgrading gas to lower timer. Upper levels with 21 have to wait 3.5 hours (210min) to fill their gas?!
    3. Base the challenge on player level, and allow players to somehow skip things that are super low, like 1st 5 rounds and get all stars just based on your level, and the obviousness the player won't get injured there. I would even pay gold for the feature to auto skip intro level challenges. (NG you money hungry monster you... There's how you profit...)
    4. FIX the XP issue and allow higher level players to earn more XP
    5. Don't have 2 challenges of different time internals (3 and 4 day) - Maybe don't base it on a week since it's odd. I like the idea of 4 day challenge 1 day off, repeat.
    6. Give a break between challenges. (This has other benefits for guild organization and recording last challenge guild data)
And I'm sure more suggestions are out there, but baby is crying (nobody puts baby in the corner). We can start the 100th poll on the same subject and get the same answer, but NG, it's time for you to step it up and do SOMETHING to help fix the 1000's of posts reporting this as an issue.

High level/maxed players are mostly capped after 2 days of challenge.. if you dont participate anymore in outposts, like me.. you would have nothing to do after half of week (except supply grinding) if we would go back to 1 challenge per week..

I probably would quit, because at some point nothing else is more boring than grinding food or xp.

+1 Once in awhile I try the outposts, but the systems is still dicey and it is really is not that appealing. More something that if I have two gas cans left and want to do something. And grinding XPs is something I have been doing less. Did it a bit yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks.

The two challenges and chatting with the guild is probably one of the main reasons why I tune into the game as much as I do and do not quit. I started a new game about 12 days ago on another device. Up to level 21 there. It is fun and reminds me why I initially liked the game. At the higher levels there is a big fall off in terms of it being something that is fun.

I really like that (or 3 with one day off), both would be a good tweak. Also the other that was mentioned of perhaps two maps running at the same time for 6 days, though I think the 4 day or 3 day with one off would both be easier to implement from NG side of things since we have seen them do this before.

Really sounds to me that is a winner in terms of addressing the concerns of players who are both pro and anti two challenges a week.

Well the truth of the matter is that this is next games' playground and they can do what they want and all that don't like it are welcome to leave. They are also starting to make it perfectly obvious who is welcome and who is not. Actions speak louder than words and I'm getting a clear hit the road signal from both so its really close to time for me to go as well. This game was fun before so many changes, game bugs and other things have made it become more of a job than a fun hobby. 1000's more post like this really will not make one bit of difference. Things have been trending towards worse for a few months now and it was good while it lasted but the good parts are quickly evaporating and will not be re-enstated.

  • I have just started playing this week. So far, it's been a blast. But what I've been reading here from people who seem knowledgeable and respected in the community makes me hesitant to expend money & time towards a dead end. I haven't bothered with the outpost, either, based on forum discussion. It's not just the high level players that are questioning the path this game is taking.

@Muffin Just enjoy the beginning. It will take a long time before you'll reach the frustrating part of the game.

Afaic this game is a lot of fun up to lvl 40. You can do the story missions and even replay them on hard and nightmare mode. The upgrades are affordable and you don't have to grind for days to upgrade one tier of a weapon.
Furthermore you have no pressure to waste no gas so you can max out your challenge stars with less refills.

I'm a bit envious...hardly remember how much fun this was.

That i why I started another game. At level 21. But now the Community Gift disappeared when I was about to claim it after I got a shooter to level 10. Some things stay the same ;)

    @Perdtin

2 people in my guild said that they couldn't claim their community gifts earlier today either.

Thanks @DarkFae for the information. Going to try again in a bit. I am having some fun with the game at the earlier levels again otherwise. Pulled a 7 of 15 Epic Shooter yesterday, which is tremendous for where I am in the game :)

Great ideas and glad to see all you high level players starting to speak out. We are all on the same boat here and eventually everyone else who is behind us will start to realize this as they progress further in this game.

They have addressed that xp balances will come in the next update. I know each day that passes by people will start dropping like flies.

Since we just had an update; I really hope the next one comes sooner or that we can hold on and hope NG is planning something big to release next month (more episodes, balances, and fixes)

If not its better to take the high road and move on.

The main reason I say 4 instead of 3. 4 gives enough time for people to play catch up if they have something personal like a funeral, weekend trip, whatever, and they can still pull off contributing their fair share. I've found that the 4 day no one is stressing, where as the 3 day, some people are stressing. It's supposed to be fun. Nuff said.

@blkjack0o four works fine for me no doubt. Not really losing much in terms of challenges/trade goods, but the timing would make it a lot more enjoyable than the current situation.

    3 or 4 days, it doesn't matter.
The problem is having to go through all the boring lower levels over and over.
Complete waste of time and gas for crappy rewards.
If we could choose the starting level in challenges, it would leave us with more time and gas to do other things, like exploration, story missions and outpost.
Those who likes to do challenges from lvl3, can do so if they wish.
Also, exploration missions should cost less gas.

I'm a high level, I guess, level 45 with two 18 level survivors. I have never joined a guild, though I created my own, with just one member. So I don't stress much about stars. The lower level challenges give me stars for buying crates, which seems the fastest way to accumulate supplies. I have no idea what the value is for guilds. Want to enlighten me? I spend time waiting for the council level to advance, trying (successfully so far) to spend actual money. I've enjoyed the 15 bar buy-in this weekend.

Guilds need to deliver more value than a couple extra gold crates. Maybe we can swap gear or borrow players or something or borrow gas or somethkng

I don't think you are going to find any guild members who will share their precious gas, but I agree 100% that we should be able to gift our unneeded gear within the guild.

There is other solution. Early map to easy for survivors 15 lvl above recommended lvl?
Then make it like in orher MMORG games:
    - No exp for survivors above 5 levels of recommended
    - Using survivors with the same or +5 as recommended level will grand more xp.
    - The same with rewards. Better rewards in the crates when we used survivors +5 the recommended lvl.

It will force us to use different team to get better rewards on early challenge maps

This is currently a MSORPG with a collective reward system. It's you against the RNG. The community is informational only, or at best morally supportive. Angry birds with a chat room

This isn't a bad idea either, but it leads to that you'd require a lot of slots and leveled players/gear to max out the XP potential. Assuming 13 rounds (234 stars), you would need 39 player slots of varying levels with ideally maxed out weapons and survivors. That a lot of paid slots, that a lot of xp to level players/gear, that a lot of storage space used for gear, and it's a little annoying to have to switch up your team all the time.

Not a serious suggestion, but it entertained me thinking about it. How about they add some entertainment for the upper levels... Since the intro levels are intended for level 3 pea-shooters, well, when you bring a level 21 rifle to a bb-gun fight, I want to see some damage! Let the parts fly and kill nearby walkers when you shoot that bazooka of a rifle at this squishy piles of zombie mush! I want exploding zombies! I want to see those biters flying completely off the map when they're hit!
