My survivors are all level 17. My weapons and armors are rangind from level 17 up to level 20. So why do I get such annoying rewards from golden crates?? Can anyone explain me?
They should make this like any other game when you go to the store to buy something you can pick what you want depending on the cash on hand and the class your looking to get the gear for. Leaving it to chance is not my idea fun but working towards that cool sword is.
I'm level 46, just got to council level 16, haven't upgraded my training grounds to level 16 or workshop to level 14 yet and I'm already seeing level 17 gear from gold crates.
That's because all my other buildings are maxed out before I level my council.
Improve your camp and you'll see higher level gear.

i waste more then 11 golden chest and get only crap items level 8-9 !!! same with the 1500er chest. my survivor are level 11, my council is level 11, my player level is 27. crafting tent is level 8, training ground is level 10...
before the update all was fine with the level, now its useless to open a chest for me ! since that, there is no need for me to play the weekly challenge.
so for now, i can log in and get my stuff. maybe play shortly a farm mission and log out for the next day...great change dev's !!
@Carlo One of several balance issues. Many players seem to have survivors way ahead of their camps. This doesn't mean they should stop everything and focus on just supplies. It means NG needs to make adjustments to the factors that determine a player's loot drops.
Related adjustments can be made with the XP tents. Maybe they should do more than provide a little bit of extra XP - maybe they should provide more BP. Whatever benefits are applied to in-game assets should be stated so somewhere appropriate. The only people who know the secret are those who come to the forums in frustration. Higher camp level giving higher level gear should not be a secret having to be discovered by players through trial and error.
@theRealBender That is exactly what happened to me. After the patch I've been receiving gear as low as 3 levels below my characters and had no idea why until I just read your post!
We have to buy all the shit we need...there comes shitty equipment from the gold crates and even if we save up 7500 tg...which is hard these days, there comes usually armor out of the box.
No riffles...no guns.
They come in optional and buyable bundles...
Even if I crawl out of the highest possible levels of challenge on my bloody knees, there is just crap in the gold crates...
I have bumped and linked the handy trade good reward guide thread we made I don't even know how many times.. also @OneLessTitan 's comprehensive site that has everything possible for players to know about drops and drop rates . Have asked several times if it's possible to get it stickied for the players use to no avail. I basically have given up
Since I, and most that frequent board, have had this info available to them for a while, my real annoyance comes from the drop rates in Gold Crates after a mission. Here's a table of my last 209 Gold Crate Tickets (over two months worth of data.) With the obvious small sample size preface, you can still see somewhat verification of what probably annoys most of us--the super large drop rate of useless gear in Gold Crates:
*So, out of my crates, 77% dropped gear, but 53.6% percent dropped rare gear, which most of us will never use. Maybe that's on us, but not really. Even with the added XP to the game, upgrading Rare Gear isn't really something many high Player Level players do since XP is still at a premium.
*23.4% of my gold crates dropped Epic and Legendary Gear!!! Not bad, until you consider the breakdown of the Base Level of the Gear. The extra % data for Epic & Legendary Gear shows the Recommended Survivor Level (RSL) of the mission subtracted from the Base Level of the Gear. So, an Epic Gear with Base Level 16 from an RSL 18 mission would give a value of -2.
*So, 7.7% of my gold crates dropped Epic & Legendary Gear with base level EQUAL TO THE RSL! This would be the only gear I would deem to be Useful or Desired from a Gold Crate. Add to that the fact that a lot of this gear will have traits that make the gear pretty much useless (Assault Weapon with no Wide Spread/Warrior Weapon with no Wide Arc/Armor with no Dodge/etc), and you're looking at 4-5% chance of useful gear, at best, and that's probably a very generous %. Then you can factor in gear for Scouts or Bruisers that most people don't desire, and drop the % even lower.
Is that worth spending the gold to unlock a Golden Crate if you don't initially unlock it in your first 3 or 6 with a video? That depends on your budget and willingness to gamble your gold. For me, the answer is a clear no.
Since the Gold Crate Drop Rates indicate we average 1 Gold Ticket every 11 Missions (3% of my total tickets have been Gold), and I have got useful gear maybe 5% of the time (that's a very generous percentage IMO), if my current data holds true, I'll get one piece of useful gear every 220 Missions. **I can ignore the first 15 missions of any Guild Map (RSL 18 and under, assuming I'm only looking for base level 19 gear at this point.) That's 60 useless missions a week for Gear Drops. **I only get 3-6 chances on each of the 6 maps on Guild Missions at RSL 19+, unless I go super crazy tanking stars or star farming (which I don't due to gas costs). However, the gas cost of these missions makes it a dumb idea to chase equipment in these Guild Challenge Maps since they have the same rewards as an RSL 19 XP/Food mission. **On the two days Guild Missions aren't available, you can play about 50 explore missions at most (1 mission per hour @ 6 gas with 1 hour regen time.....without booster or gold for gas.) **Based on that math, I can "expect" 1 piece of useful 19 gear about every 2.5 weeks. Those odds suck.
Thankfully, there are still Epic Trade Good Crates for me to try to get useful gear from. If it weren't for those, I can only imagine the crap gear I'd be playing with...and even the Epic Crates are a bit of a crap shoot, but at least you know you have a chance to get something good or at least useable.
Honestly the only feasible way to get good gear now for high levels is going to be opening gold 500 TG crates after camp level 55 (still to be confirmed but it should run along the same tier guidelines) . Level 19 legendary and Epic gear will have a chance to drop.
If they removed rare crap from gold crates , they not only would please every single player out there that can't stand it , they would also have more players spending to open gold crates instead of refraining. I used to chase gold crates all the time , now because of the above reasons OLT mentioned , I don't waste the gold.
If they put player tokens into gold crates In the place of rare gear? Missions would become a lot more desirable and fun
When you get a gold crate after a mission , it's supposed to be a reward, when you open that reward and it's rare gear with such a low scrap value that it penalizes your reward and turns it back into lower than a bronze crates contents , the logic of this completely escapes me on all levels.. maybe someone else can explain it lol

So the trick could be to save all TG untill you get to player level 54/55

@Conan1976 at level 54 you will still get the level 52 tier drops (level 18) but at level 55 it should jump to next tier and give you the chance at level 19 legendary gear (in 500 gold crates)

Haha.. Um. . Well I suppose you could just do missions and hope for the best. I'm holding off upgrading anymore for the time being and just focusing on my camp , almost at 54. It's just a shame that all the camp upgrades are basically useless at moment , 4 mil + supplies each is no joke. The double supplies weekend should help tho
Thank you @OneLessTitan - can never give enough appreciation to this guy.
I have said it before and I will say again - rare equipment is NOT appropriate loot for gold crates. Gold crates are rare enough already to be filled with such low-value loot. Why do we have such a wide range of loot values from gold crates? If I am lucky enough to get a gold crate, and then lucky enough to unlock one, then I should count on the contents as being of high value!! Right now at my current level I could get 25K XP (appropriate) or rare gear (not appropriate).
@Conan1976 - You could buy Epic or Legendary Trade Good Crates. At Level 52, you should only get Base Level 19 gear. That's my plan once I get to Player Level 52 (which will be after this weekend).
@theRealBender -- Thanks for the kind words. And if I could agree more than once with your post about Rare gear drops, I would! (and same for @Japes87). Seems like Uncommon and Common should be in Bronze, Rare in Silver (still not easy to get silver crates), and Epic/LEG in Gold crates. I'd be way happier with the low drop rates for Epic/Legendary in gold crates if it weren't for those Rare drops. Eliminating them and dividing their drop rate into XP/Radios/Food/Gold would be a huge win IMO. Of course, I'd like to see a jump in EPIC/LEG, but I'd also settle for them removing the gear 2 levels below the RSL and adding that drop rate into 1 and 0 level below RSL. I know we're dreaming here, but a boy needs hope!

Capitalism sucks.
Yup... The type of " Capitalism " that the " devious & dastardly " Fins practice ( for this game ) is tantamount to " grand larceny "...
And they know it...
Stop by their office in Heilsinki sometime, and they are " giggling & High Fiveing " all the time...
But don't take your kids, or any kids, with ya... Shudder...
Any guess who might " now " be on my list, ( in 2017 )
