No new announcements since August 11?

anyone else think that's strange?

We are getting more ingame information, so how hard would it be to cut and paste those announcements here?

So not listening then, is my guess.

"Noting" requires two actions: reading the Forum & taking notes
"Listening" is the passive action of hearing inaudible input from a visual Forum

I'm guessing Teecee's mind is blown that Noted is obviously a more progressive response than Listening?

"Noted" implies it was recorded it somewhere while "Listening" only implies acknowledgment that input was received.

They say noted but this isn't the first time communication has been pointed out. We can all note things but unless we do something with that information it's a pointless process. So far it seems it noted and passed along to a brick wall hence our current lack of communication.

TK-421 and eetu left the NG.
It could be the reason of less communication recently

@Dlblis, my boss says "Noted" as well. Uses that just to shut us up about an issue with no intention of dealing with it.

In my experience it's noted for further payback at a later date.

I'd rather hope that they were 'hearing', rather than 'listening' and 'noting'......
The former is active, whereas the other two options appear, imho, to be more passive.

But everyone that plays NML will see the in-game msg but they may not be forum users. Every forum user would already know the in-game msg. anyways. So in-game msgs are the only essential announcements. Players can then freely create threads here about the in-game announcements for discussion.

So I'm not understanding the need for duplicate announcements, but I'm not opposed to it or anything.

They'll b an announcement after we've burned all our phones on heroes. Said announcement will b "Token event this weekend, use your stockpiled phones for survivor upgrades!" Lol, I couldn't resist :D

If NG has any hope to get back those long lost players that have quit the game due to the inadequacies/practices of the company, then it would be in NG's best interest to put announcements in a clearly marked area (the announcement category could work... maybe?).

Then on the off chance that someone who liked the game, but disliked certain changes-- maybe they read the forum and give these guys and this game a second chance.

It's doubtful, yes. But if you have to read 50+ messages of a randomly titled user post to find one half-assed dev answer... Well there's a better chance of finding snow in the Sahara desert than there is finding that post unless you visit the forums everyday and read every post. And no ex-player is going to do that.

  • Why do we need announcements from @Teeceezy or @Shadowkeeper or anybody else when you can go to the video section and see a video about it created by a content creator or skim their post for info all by and for yourselves? Let's all just leave them alone and let them fix the forum and/or fix the game instead of bothering them to provide information we can easily seek out for ourselves. Watching people act like that makes me wants to cry into my blankie and suck my thumb and I don't like that so just stop. Please and thank you before my smiles gets turned upside down for like more than 5 minutes okay? Feeling sad now :( Sorry I'm new at sharing my feelings, will try and do better next time and now my tummy hurts now too....

There are announcements in the video section?
I viewed that page once or twice and found video's with screens of weekend event announcements one day ahead of the actual announcements.
Figured that was useless, since that info comes readily ingame at the opportune time.

The communication that is obviously desired is mind-easing information about actual fixes.

It is in fact very noticable how silent NG is about development issues.
I seem to remember a much more active role from their side not too long ago.
In fact, since the recent one or two updates the development of the game has caused so many very major greavances that it is my suspicion that NG went OMFG on this and are now scrambling for a fix. This must be damaging to their cashflow.
But since sentiment is hot, openly discussing thought processes or partial plans for a fix will very very likely only couse ever so much more rioting.

So my guess, they're keeping their heads down, working hard in the background, in the hopes of getting morale back up much higher in the long run.

After all, while some players might leave now, come October there will likely be a new influx of players. Plus, a return of part of the players that have left and are then curious if perhaps NG has fixed enough of their grievances to enjoy the game once more.

There's still some two months for them to update a couple of times, using feedback to get the game back up there before the new season is on screen.

    @MadPuppy

You hit the nail on the head. Having to dig through threads for an answer to issues shouldn't be that difficult. A simple sticky with a list of bugs being worked on isn't a bad thing. It would solve the problem of multiple threads being created.

About this influx of new players we keep mentioning, I have to wonder if it will be as large as generally assumed. The show is going into Season 7, its fan base is already established and the pool of new viewers will be small as most people don't tune into a show that's been running for 7yrs. It may also lose a portion of viewers that don't understand the need for the Neegan storyline and find it too violent.

The game dropped last season and that's where the bulk of the downloads came from. Since then, the love affair has run aground and newbies will be discouraged by both active (postings on AMC's page for example) and passive (reading the one star reviews) methods. Basically, they've already hit their target audience and will now be looking to pick up the stragglers. No pvp fan is going to stay in this game for the broken Outpost system and pve players aren't going to fall in love with the current build for all the obvious reasons.

NG launched pve, they should have stuck with that and improved on their original product. PvP is a CF because they decided they wanted to be Clash of Clans (or any of the other multitudes of successful pvp games) and failed. Nerfing pve because pvp has issues is wrong. They can't have it both ways. Pick a team and play that team. Otherwise, launch another version of the game instead of ruining the one that was working...mostly. When you have to lie, cheat and steal from your players to keep your game, you deserve to lose.

You can add all the "Heroes" you want, but virtual paper dolls and silenced crossbows don't make this TWD.

@DarkFae It is easier (for me) to go straight to the announcement section above and take a couple of seconds to read an announcement as compared to watching a video which takes more time. Often you need to watch the video to get the information and it is not posted. Depending on what is going on, I rather bypass the whole video announcement thing. To be clear, this is not meant at all to be an issue with the content creators or the quality of the videos. But I often have sound off on devices and want to just read quickly. I have the same feeling about news sites etc, where something has to be a video. The in app announcements can work, but even then they are not done properly. Do we really need two things in the mailbox announcing the voting for the challenge? One to announce and one two vote so they both need to be cleared?

Of course all of this may be I got used to looking at the top of the forum on Thursday to see what is coming up for the weekend and I just hate breaking old habits. :)

Thansk for the reminder about the discussions tab. Now if only i had enough time to read all of them. ;)

I can certainly scan the topics though which is better than what I've been doing.
