they secretly nerfed the dodge trait

there is a significant difference between the dodge from last update and the lastest update. i can usually withstand 2-5 hits from walkers/raiders (previous update) and now, even with my 60% dodge team cant even dodge 1 attack from a walker. (consecutive times <tested many times>) i am very certain that you guys nerfed the dodge. on top of that, there was no announcement about nerfing dodge trait from 2.1 update. @Shteevie please explain thank you.

Traits dont stack anymore, so your 60% dodge trait is at most 30% now. It was discussed. Made quite a scene on forums.

Also RNG is a fickle bitch. My shooter dodged 4 fatty hits in a row in an outpost raid because I was lucky while corralled into a tight spot. My assault wasn't so lucky despite having a similar dodge score.

This was not supposed to happen until 2.2 , curious if anyone else is seeing same results .. my dodge seems normal although I am getting hit more raiding. . That's mostly because of the close proximity of the smaller zones with lots of zombies tho

The luck/dodge changes are not in 2.1. However, a bug has been fixed in the the way bullet dodge behaved. If you have that in high amounts, the fix might lead to what you're describing.

That may explain why my warrior with 60% dodge gets stunned more often after 2.1 update during outpost raid. However, he can still dodge from several level 19 walker attacks in a row. I haven't noticed a difference of dodging from walkers yet. I'll find out more once I get into higher level challenge missions.

What OldGoth said. We've had a programmer basically on fixing buggy traits 100% for a couple of weeks, so we're going to get the gameplay back in line with intent very quickly.

Stacking still works, and will continue to work, but Bullet Dodge was buggy, and therefore got corrected.

I see huge difference during Outpost raids regarding bullet dodge. Thanks for it! Hard to say about normal dodge. I need to test it on high lvl walkers...

Bullet dodge never seemed to work right. You could dodge bullets with regular dodge and no bullet dodge. Also I witnessed body shot taking hits from high level walkers with bullet dodge, so I could only conclude it was the same thing as the bullet proof armor trait.

Does it work as it is described now? Does regular dodge apply to getting shot?

I'm not surprised at all. I don't know what I would do with myself if the game ever got to a point that it was bug free and working the way it's supposed to.

The bug with Bullet Dodge was that it also dodged melee attacks, which wasn't meant to happen. So, a survivor with both Dodge and Bullet dodge would look like it had tons of dodges in missions where there were no incoming ranged attacks - making regular Dodge look like it was better than it really was.

There's a mention of it here, I think in the 'Pre-update' discussion thread.

Compare a survivor with Dodge to one with both dodge and Bullet Dodge. They should act about the same in regards to slipperiness now.

Well that's an interesting read. It makes me wonder how something so significant like that made it through quality control and into the game.

Maybe before the devs change the way dodge and luck stack for the next update they make sure all the bugs are squashed and then maybe the devs won't have to nerf dodge + luck and cause even more problems. Just a crazy idea I know but one can dream for common sense and logical solutions.

My dodge also seems to work as it used to. I just feel the lower level health boost nerf a lot.

@OldGoth & @Shteevie: Can we get the most updated answer here, since I know it's been back-and-forth:

Is the plan as of now for ALL double-traits (Dodge, Bullet Dodge, Luck, Iron Skin...y'know anything where both a weapon and a survivor can have the trait 2x) to stop stacking in or around 2.2? Or is there a new plan in mind, and if you're allowed to elaborate, what is it? Just trying to make sense of all the discussion. Thanks!

@Shteevie why would we upgrade/stack up our dodge/luck when you guys are just gonna nerf it in 2.2 plus great alibi about the bullet dodge. soon, all of your players will "secretly" stop playing this game too. good luck to all the players who are near in high level challenges. you will all notice a significant difference.

Are we talking about dodging a lvl 30 walker guys? @Amazayn

The only time I'm seeing a difference is at high level playing which is normal to me.

@WeekOne yeah trying to dodge the lvl30 walkers/raiders but it very difficult to dodge the attack(s) even though the walker hit me once, and i know that 60% to proc rate is high but it is always an instant struggle. are you at lvl30 yet? if so you'll see the difference.

I'm there @Amazayn and what I've noticed is the Saviours are bad ass and I love it. It's not as easy as what it used to be which is excellent. I love the improvements I am seeing in the challenge.

At your player level, you should know by now that you can't rely on dodge against a lvl 30 walker or Saviour.

    Suck it up buttercup! ;)

it is pretty impressive for you top players who are okay with the dodge nerf and to kill many walkers and raiders at lvl30 and successfully manage to get stars.
  • @Amazayn I don't know how you managed to get that many stars in the past, going up against a lvl 30 walkers/saviours, if you relied solely on your dodge?

The dodge is the same for me going up against lvl 30's

  • @blynknz everyone knows that bullet dodge was OP and I can assure you, some people got many bonus stars because of it. Regular dodge is the same. Nothing has changed in that regard.
