I have been playing the game for a little while. The rewards presently are not balanced. In challenges, I am scraping half of them as they are worthless. I don't see any difference between gold, silver and bronze rewards. Gold should be only epic and legendary. If supply or experience or radios, make them worthwhile

First, thank for great game. It was solid strategy game before implementing high chances of bodyshots and "bruiser tweaking" which almost kill this class. But i'm sure you can tune this negative moment in a future.
    a) Episode rewards is not best but they should not be outstanding. Its good enough especially because player take it only at normal difficulty.
    b) I assume that the challenge missions have a hidden tag like exploration ones. Sometimes i got 7/9 chests with food from certain then this happens again with next level of same mission. Perhaps its just random but i think rewards should be varied within a single mission.
    c) You did not ask, but the rewards for exploration missions also require adjustments. I do not know what purpose was in the addition of such a large number of common/uncommon items, but it is only used as XP storage. Getting the useless items for the deadly mission very depressing. I think rewards for deadly mission must be at least rare quality.
And at the end, please add radio as a regular frequent rewards. Anyway new survivors summon - roulette. My last 12 calls x15 was rare quality despite the fact that the last five were already during the event. And considering the fact that generally need a certain class this is very annoying.

    Best regards,

Here is an idea, within your code set up a counter that registers each time a player completes a campaign mission or guild challenge mission. Then use that data to reward players with a Platinum bonus box on the 9 box selection after a set number of challenges have been completed. Here is the rub, the platinum box must contain legendary gear appropriate to the level of the survivors used on that mission.
Just a thought. It might cost them 50 gold to get it if they know it's there but if it is a good reward people will do it.

Awesome! I'm so glad you are asking because I have not been happy with the rewards at all. I would <3<3<3 more gold level gear rewards please I'm sick to death of all the green gear. Also more gold for completing more milestones would be really appreciated.

Also if we can get rewarded weapons that start at the recommended survivor level of the missions we complete that would be so much more well receipted. For example if a mission has a recommended survivor level of level 14 and we successfully complete it then please reward us with a weapon (if a weapon is offered) that starts at level 14 and has the ability to be opened up into higher levels. It almost feels like and insult to get through all the crap reward mission (or any mission for that matter) and get any weapon (even a gold level one) that is one or two levels to low to be useful to you. Sorry this is so long and thanks again for your time and for listening.

    Edit:

And please for the love of all that's sacred and holy bump up the odds of getting legendary survivors some and have mercy on us folks that are very close to completely baffled as to how to get them at this point. I'm kinda feeling like a live woolly mammoth sighting is more possible for me than obtaining a legendary hunter at this point lol.

As far as I read nobody mentioned more milestone awards so far @Teeceezy @TK-421

Bet I am not the only one that would appreciate "50k killed walkers", "1k deadlies" and so on.
According to the memorial that data is within the db. Would be awesome to get some (living) survivor stats btw ;)

    Thnx for asking :)

My suggestion first, the rest of this msg is just basic whining

It could be very exciting to get random characters as a part of rewards in Weekly missions.

There could be for example 1-5 characters randomized totally in a week among personal rewards with normal drop rate and based on a level of a player. Or there could be a defined (by Next Games) three characters of free choice of one for example in 120, 270 and 360 * behind one gold card. Theses are just two examples, personally I'd feel more motivated if I'd see the choices beforehand to goal them.

Character rewards in Episode missions are great and I've spent whole weekend to run through Episodes in Hard and Nightmare mode just to get characters from them. I really recommend to check this shop list from Wikia undependent of the level of player: http://nomansland.wikia.com/wiki/Survivors

After getting decent camp, specially Council, Training ground, Workshop and Tomato fields, the amount of tomato cans (5K - 23K) as rewards are more joke in my POV. Tomato fields are providing enough tomato cans and they can be easily and cheaply obtained in normal episode food missions as needed. Too often even normal XP mission gives more tomatoes than expected XP :|

Atm the weekly personal mission rewards in 160 * and after are quite poor compared both to the amount of gasoline needed and guild rewards (which are good in my POV).

Also, Episodes and level cap atm is not balanced yet. Sometimes - but not so often - Episode 11 and 12 give decent gears, even normal Deadly episode missions. Best source in my POV to get lv14+ gear are Week challenge mission, but there are a) too few chances (missions costing 9-11 gasoline) b) I have got too few gold cards from them. And gold card rewards in these missions can also be XP or tomatoes.

I have played from the beginning of the game. For example Warrior class, I have got epic lv15 Chopper as Episode reward and epic lv17 katana (which I can't use or upgrade due to level cap) from Weekly mission. But I havent ever got better lv14 warrior weapon than rare shovel.

Instead I have got for example legendary Scout armours lv13, lv115, lv15 and lv16 at least once every of them :D I'd like to transact three of these Scout armours to only one epic lv14 shovel =)

    Sorry for long post

In future, something could be done to avoid having literally everything we have being based on luck. Something that makes sense in TWD world.

Episode rewards are good, as long as they match the level required to complete the mission or match the highest survivor level available. I thought the level 15 epic 'The Chopper' from Episode 12 was a perfect reward. Just rotate weapons from best or most used survivors. (Someone also mentioned having an option to pick a weapon type, that would be really cool.)

As stated throughout, challenge milestone rewards need to increase level/rarity as you progress. No reason I should still be getting level 9-12 weapons at the 210 & 270 star milestones, when I get the same things at the 12 star milestone. Really, I only look forward to rewards from completing higher level challenge missions, not really the milestone rewards, since they are mostly useless for higher level players. Maybe starting at 210 stars+ have weapons ranged from levels 13-16 and higher chance of epic/legendary.

Finally, and this is a bit off topic, maybe have the 'Training Grounds' and 'Workshop' levels match so that we can upgrade the max level weapons for our survivor level. Sucks to have a level 15 survivor but you can't upgrade any level 15 weapons. Having the workshop lag behind the training grounds by 1 level kinda slows down your ability to put together the best possible survivors.

Anyway, the game is great and I think we're all happy that you are asking our feedback as you continue to work on it. We really appreciate it! Thank you!!

Hi all! I've scanned the thread and I think there's a lot of well thought suggestions. I've also seen those that say the question spawns answers based on a will to maximize rather than to balance. I too needs to go a bit beyond the original question to make my point.

Let me clarify that I'm far from maxing the game. I just recently crossed the 20 building level and not reached 10 level survivors yet. I grow with the game so far and I grow slowly: I never watch video (since it doesn't work on my device EDIT: It's actually working now. Cool... Wonder if it will change my perspective on rewards or if I won't care to tap that show-and-tell button.) nor spend money so I'm not spoiled only tankful for what I find and trusting RNG to once in a while give me at least one of those gold tickets that should be in the boxes. You bet I too think I get too many low level weapons and gas when I'm already full, or no gas when I need it with high level weapons that I can't use for a long time.

But, somehow I don't think it would be fair to have rewards that always match player level. That would make strong players even stronger, then needing even stronger rewards etc.

I understand there is a large amount of players who maxed the game, both in episode missions and survivor and Council level. It's pretty clear that it will be impossible to make them happy by altering the rewards, possibly with the exception of giving gas that at least let them waste more time on useless missions. Some of these players maxed the game by luck, others from paying money, probably all of them spent a lot of time. The way to make these players happy is likely not exponential rewards, but more likely a game changer. It could be the Player-vs-player to kill time while waiting for next expansion or gather a completely new reward (like the stars) or possibility to loot other players camp. It could also be the "recycling center" (such as that in suggestion section of the board) that allows the picky player to meld two pieces of suitable equipment and hand pick traits or make a lot of scrap metal into a weapon upgrade. It could even be the "within guild trade opportunity" where instead of scrapping another player could transfer xp to yield the weapon (if within some level range of the recipient). Even so, game-change could be that the number of kills done by one survivor actually makes that survivor more experienced, stronger and less likely to do body shots, a trait not rewarded by luck but by consistent fighting spirit.

At least, I think just making the rewards better is not making the game better. I play the game because I enjoy seeing myself in the TWD universe. I don't recall the TV series as being without struggle and sacrifice. I don't think legendary Rick or Michonne would be more likely to find legendary equipment if the missions was for baby food and medicine. These survivors already have an advantage by them taking the mission, they should not also expect to find champagne in that hospital, just because they are legendary. It should not even pay off less for the easy fight nor more if you attack a mission that is +2 over your player level, a mission is a mission.

Ok, over to some answers to that questions...
I think it would be quite nice if you were able to find "gas tank expansion" as a level bonus if gas already full. I also think it would be realistic to see that if I sent warriors to the mission, it would be more likely that they decided to pick the warrior weapon and leave the bruiser vest from the armory they looted. (I'm sure Daryl would bring the motor cycle he found, whereas Carol less impulsively would suggest bringing the bus.)

There could be a wish list to fill in before you go to the mission. If it's decided to be a food run, nobody would come home with a new baseball bat in one of the boxes.

    Hi,

frist, i am happy withe the Episodes.

but the amount of XP you got, i think its a bit to less. Here you should give up a small Boost and change the XP cost from enhancing Weapons. Here you can use "Iron" as another payment method, like food for Buildings, XP for Survivors and iron or something else, for Weapons.

Another idea is a Gas Station Building, that reduce with each lvl 20seconds of the refill time for Gas. Its only an example... A kind of Blacksmithing could be, a change of trait on Weapons, one time/weapon and maby another "Boot Camp" to change one skill on survivor at xp cost...

Thats all for now... Good Job to the Devs, you made a great Job

If the stronger players can reach the higher levels then why should they be punished with crap rewards until everyone else can catch up to them? I'm sorry but your counterpoint doesn't make any sense. I mean honestly what motivation would stronger players have to keep playing and pushing their games further if they can't do anything until someone that has just discovered the game yesterday catches up to them? And what if the newbie decides to leave the game before they can achieve as much as the more experienced players? Is everyone expected to wait on the next newbie that happens to start playing and hope for the best?

It would be amazing if we could somehow store those gas canisters for a useful time. I get stuck in that boat all the time where the tank is full and I essentially get no reward. Challenges definitely deserve better rewards. Unless you are in a guild or don't have many reasonable mission choices due to your point in advancement, there isn't much benefit to playing. Especially with the cost of gas. The first challenge missions drop so very little, come on 480 supplies is ridiculous compared to other farming rounds.

I am level 29 and my survivors are either level 11 or 12.

Just let me share with you the REWARDS which I earned during the Terminus Challenge. In a total, I earned 6 GOLD rewards and not a single was legendary or epic. Except for a level 12 rare Small Axe for the Scout class and 9,800 experience points, the remaining were rewards which I would prefer to scrap.

not sure how codeable this would be...

...what would be a really nice feature would be customizable equipment as rewards:

    - items with only a level and primary stat (damage / armor)
    - extra skill slots (up to the maximum allowed of the item) as rewards
    - item skills as rewards

and on a long run item modifications e.g.:

    - silencer (reduced chance to attract Walkers)
    - scope (better weapon range)
    - etc.

    a) Completing an episode

Must really need improvement for the reward of each mission complete, if no, the explor deadly mission is better for rewards
Also when completing all the missions of the episode could be offer a legendary weapon or armor equal of the best walkers level recommanded, same for all players

    b) low, mid and high tier reward from challenges

i believe all player think like me about gold ticket who give just a rare equip really suck even if its a high level

So i propose for low tier reward could be cell phone or gold
Mid could be one epic armor + one epic weapon
and high could be one legendary weapon + one legendary armor

when completing low level missions from challenge, the rewards shouldnt be equipement because they are useless du to lower level, so it could be xp or supplies or gold or cell phone or gas only and more if silver ticket and and very more if gold ticket
When arriving on level -1 of max level of our survivor, equipement begin interesting

in case, i appreciate we can say our thinking, thank you very much

(sorry for language if you dont understand im french player)

I left 16 boxes from challenge and I opened them together. Just a CRAP :( Best rewards were 12k EXp and 4 radios.

The challenge rewards are mediocre at best. I stopped at 237 stars last challenge. Kept 2 reward items. Now I have members who are tired of getting stars, just to get lousy rewards. Mentioned upping star requirements and a few said they would leave because rewards are not worth it.
I haven't seen rewards good enough for it to be anything but relaxed . I had 163. Everything sucked. Makes me not wanna play. Rewards get better ill get more serious . That's what 1 member sent me. @Teeceezy are rewards going to get better? I like the TV show twd and it's why I downloaded this game. But honestly with the rewards it is taking the fun out of the game. No reason to see how many stars we can get.
