RSL lvl 25 on Hard exploratory mission now?

I know there's a lot of Forum traffic today, so I'm sorry if this was explained somewhere earlier.

My exploratory missions on "Hard" have a starting RSL of level 25. Are other players with comparably lvl'ed survivors having the same RSL?? Other players are telling me they have a lower starting RSL on Hard mode. And the rewards afterwards for this are giving me below-level gear (2 levels below my survivor lvl).

Is this how it's supposed to be now? What is the new calculations for RSL & equipment level rewards?

    My survivors are level 19 and my camp is level 54. My RSL is only 21 for hard mode.

    My survivors are lvl 19 and camp 55. RSL for scavenge missions hard mode is 23

    Not sure how the RSL is being determined

    The Exploration missions you were playing in 2.1 are now the 'Normal' difficulty Scavenge missions. The Harder ones have higher level walkers and increased base rewards. Crate results are still random, however.

    @Shteevie why have you designed the scavenger missions so hard mode is only a benefit to low and medium level players?

    Why not make the crate rewards higher for end-gamers as well? (Currently I get the exact same crate rewards from the normal and the hard mode as crates still seem capped at level 19 recommended).

    I understand you think about tomorrow's customers, but the list of end-gamer disadvantages introduced with 2.2 is quite long.

    Difference of 500 XP between normal and hard is a joke. 1 WALKERS around camp gives 450 XP.. and no, please don't nerfe them.

    @Shteevie i was doing scavenger at RSL 25 and cleared it with heavy injuries but the rewards remained the same as a normal scavenger. there was no boost whatsoever. also the equipment cap level doesnt really make sense when you're against a lvl25+ dropping lvl18 equipment still...

    @Shteevie But then why are some lvl55 players getting RSL 25 for hard missions, but I'm getting 23, and others are getting 21..? Shouldn't they all be the same??

    Also, to verify: the gas cost for Scavenge missions WILL go back to 6 on Monday? Or no? That seems an unnecessary thing to deal with...

    Oh and why are Influence Rewards halved?! I thought you wanted Influence to be MORE important to us, not less!!

    Is it really impossible to change some value without new update? It's hard to believe. You can adjust gas cost for challenges ect in a second so why not change it to Scavenge until you rework rewards?

    Ok, thanks everyone and Shteevie for the responses. Sounds like RSL 25 is supposed to be correct after your camp upgrades. Glad the rewards may be adjusted & improved later too. It was disappointing today dealing with swarms of lvl 25/26 walkers on exploratory missions, and only getting base lvl 18 gear rewards afterwards. I thought my game was bugged. Thank-you for clarification.

    Wish that rewards / reward chances in hard mode were similar to or better than in deadly missions in the good old days... :)

    To be fair, the hard mode give far more than just 500 extra xp. Killing those walkers gets you roughly 2k extra xp in kills.

    Nthing the sentiment that the crate rewards should reflect the RSL though (otherwise, gear missions are still garbage). If that were the case I would be okay with paying 7 gas to do it.

    Gas cost is already changed to 6. Difference between XP are also bugged. Shouldn't be less than 1k

    I'm player level 55 (will go to 56 once council upgrade is done) and my Hard missions recommend level 21 survivors. I'm seeing here people are seeing 23 and 25? Why is mine different? :grey_question:

    I've been trying to get an answer to this question too. @Shteevie

    I'm level 55 & facing lvl 22 on hard scavenger
    So are others in my guild from lvl 54 - 56

    Then there are Others in my guild who are levels 54 -56 & they are facing rec lvl 21 walkers.

    Please can you help/Explain

    Hello, all -

    General response here: we're factoring in your survivors that have been upgraded past Legendary here when determining the difficulty of the scavenge missions. This is true for Normal and Hard modes. The rewards for killing the walkers in those levels will adjust accordingly.

    Today, we increased the chances to get gear in the gear scavenges, so those will help you find new setups for your team in the post-change trait environment. I was able to adjust the gas costs without a code change, because the engineers here are smarter than I am. Most players will have seen their gas costs further reduced as a result, and this change was approved unanimously by the whole team. I mention this because I want to make it clear that the gas cost error was exactly that, and not an attempt to gouge players for gas boosters or refills.

    In the next update or two, I want to further increase the risk and reward relationship of the Hard missions. Because this requires work from level designers, engineers, and others, it wasn't possible to get it all done in 2.2. Hopefully players will be able to manage the scavenge missions they run to get the most out of their playtime.

    I have seen level 23 walkers on all my probably 10-12 hard level scavage missions for my level 20 survivors so far. No level 25's for me.

    @Shteevie Sorry, but I'm not sure I follow the reason why some folks are getting level 23 or 25 recommended when I'm only getting level 21. You mention the survivor team having an impact. I made sure I put in all level 19 legendaries with max gear. I still didn't see any change.

    Plus, I assume that survivors "upgraded past legendary" is a typo... unless I missed something like "You can promote survivors to god status." :lol:
