Who cares about traits as long as we 1 hit kills everything? At high levels is where traits becomes important but that is not fun according to You.

I still don't understand what's NG's problem with "repeatables"? Why was that a problem in the first place?
I was already suspicious that this piercing trait would not work as advertised, the same way dodge is not working with walkers +4 and upwards. But in good faith I upgraded a machine gun with gold piercing expending more than 2 mil xp... what a sucker, I should have known better.

Yes, people are asking around the forum about what to upgrade, I just always say whatever. It doesn't really matter, now does it? And if it did, why would you think that would last. When I see something roll out, I never touch it right away. We're beta testers, and I can't afford to chase the next shiny bug because I progress too slowly.

i have a question, since long range survivors has pierced shot trait. will the melee survivors get similar trait near future? since the 2.2 update was mainly rebalancing.

But melee has no bodyshots on armoured walkers that's why ranged has this trait. But if you ask about high lvl walkers then I doubt. Luck is the factor atm

I would say melee would need an even better pierced trait with higher percentage to reduce body shot to make them effective.

I have. Question to piggy back on this. From my understanding it's been stated that +3 or more level walkers will typically get body shots that therefore interrupt and piercing won't work.

Does the same rules apply to weapons of lower quality?

I have Lvl 19 survivors and just found a legendary pistol with silver luck, gold piercing and gold interrupt but the weapon is Lvl 3.

I used to use lower grade weapons that had better traits for higher level challenge missions if my weapon didn't have interrupt since my goal was to stop the opponent from moving id give it to a survivor.

If a Lvl 19 survivor uses a Lvl 3 weapon with piercing and interrupt vs Lvl 10 walkers (let's say) does the piercing and interrupt RNG lower because the weapon compared the walker is more than 3 levels between eachother?

Edit - I guess what I'm asking is it the weapon level that causes the fact that it won't work as efficiently compared to the Walker level or is it the survivor level that causes the decrease in chance.

@Japes so even the one trait we could hope be an improvement is not much of one...how disappointing...

I see an interesting quote from Shteevie concerning the update in that screenshot you posted "I know that now it looks like a big ball of bad"...and we were told during this past summer of our discontent that in 2.2 we were going to be really happy with all the fixes we would have moving forward...instead, we were given an update that we would think of as a big ball of bad, and we should continue to wait for all the fixes we would love (maybe they will arrive with Gudot)... : /

    @Shteevie

Thank you for your kind and prompt response on the new piercing trait :)

I just tested it out again... And it is now working as intended. This changes everything! And is the counter - balance towards all the nerfs!

Thank you so much and I have edited this thread to a more positive standpoint :)

Yes ++. It speaks to workmanship and consideration. When you pull out the stops to downgrade player experience and make your promises empty by compromising your new trait by delivering it broken it is an ill omen. Congrats on getting wrestler right, lol.

And just to ensure credit where credit is due, congrats on my first useful gear run out of hundreds. Obviously, I couldn't have done it without you. There is still a big hole in 19th level gear (highest I can currently use) but this is, for once, a good omen.

What I find interesting is things have happened in the past, but nothing it "can't be fixed until the next update"

They F'd up peircing, which was meant to be their balance because of all the nerf, and they managed to fix it with a day or 2.

So basically, if the change does not require an actually UI change, I will not believe that anything has to wait till the next update.

@blynknz -- I dont believe many UI updates require update releases, either. The quest timer went missing for 2.2, but they brought that back without an update... /scratches-head

I just am getting caught up on my reading and ...
    ***mind blown***

Thank you ALL for not giving up & not putting this conversation to rest until it got resolved. Kudos to both sides

Btw @Amazayn had a legit question that I'd really like an answer to. It's important for planning new strategies. See ss

But this thread also gives me the answer to the question i asked @Shteevie in a different thread...

Since we now know it doesn't require an update, when are you planning on turning up the volume on swift strike, charging, etc? Obviously it wasn't intended by the Luck nerf to totally squelch these traits like the corpses of the undead.

Can you give us some idea how long it takes to create & analyze that data in those shiny reports so I have some idea when they will be "working as intended" again? This question is holding up my progress in the game

(Btw I'm a much happier LabCat when you guys just come out and announce this stuff... this thread was a tough read!)

@MizTy it's painfully obvious, the things that they want to fix get fixed fast even if we don't want them...the things we want fixed, but are not important to them...it's the next update or the one after that...or...well...let's wait for Gudot shall we....

I have amazing powers of denial my friend :)

Nevertheless, I think Steve wants to see the game more balanced so he can truly get creative with new content. Having said that, I'm still patiently waiting for patch 2.2b, which I now know doesn't need to wait for a major upgrade in order to tweak the unintended casualties of 2.2
I'd rather trust that they just make a general announcement but, well you know...

I have to disagree with that,.. Only last week I was complaining to my guild about how the hell my scouts where hitting do many body shots,..
Don't know about anyone else but I was seein it on screen mate

@MizTy unfortunately for some things, i have been waiting for since April, others since June : P, I have plum run out of patience

as for Shteevie...I don't know what his role is at NG since no one will tell us, developer?, analytics number cruncher?...or someone to experiment on/placate us?...I don't know if I believe in NG's vision, but then again they have chosen not to share it with us

I think the term is,...... Chief fobber offer ;)
