Omg! @WhySoEgar, that would be DEVASTATING! But great feature indeed!

If not permanent death, looting the body of the failed team would be another crazy one =O

Imagine obstacles and fog of war... This def would mean being able to strategize is key!

Ok I'm imagining the future if this is implemented in the way you describe. The amount of whining and rage quit postings on the forum would make this place unbearable. :s

@Headhunter, for those not knowing that it's permanent, they will rage over it. But those that know the consequences... It definitely would be worthwhile. Reminds me of pvp in the game "Runescape," where death is the result of looting the person's body. The excitement!! High risk = high reward!

We wont know how their pvp is until it comes out.

It could be where the winner just gets a reward, and then ppl will b mad that they do so good in pvp, but get only crappy rewards =S

The key to any good PVP is how good the matchmaking system is used in the game. Nothing generates more complaints in games with PVP than poor matchmaking. Let's hope they don't screw this game up by implementing a poor PVP system.

    PvP! Yeah!
As headhunter just said, matchmaking will be key. Get it right and we're in for hours of fun.
    Looking forward to it

If PVP is forced upon every player, then I will be gone. I'm not interested in beating up on other players and stealing their resources, nor do I want my resources stolen after I have worked so hard to obtain them.

I recognize that some people want this element, but PLEASE make it voluntary!

My prediction is that it will work exactly like XCOM PVP.

Participation will not be mandatory at all.
There will be an arena lobby where you are granted 10000 'points' to spend building your team of 3. It won't use your regular survivors.
Rewards will probably continue to work exactly as all other rewards in the game. You'll get 1 or 2 gold cards, and there will be a limit on the number of rewards you can earn on a daily basis.

This game implements a lot of XCOM-like features already, so not really a stretch that they would emulate the PVP also - especially since it was a successful feature for XCOM on mobile devices.

Interesting. I've never played XCOM so your insight on this is helpful. From your description, it definitely sounds like something that can be implemented in this game. Since this is my primary concern, how well is XCOM's PVP matchmaking implemented?

Yea runescape style deaths would be great.

Think about it you could have 2 modes. Soft core were there is no permanent losses. But with lower end rewards. And also a hardcore mode were the losing team would either lose there team. Or maybe have to pick one survivor that is left behind.... I think it adds alot to the idea of pvp. But then again I like the idea of games were you honestly have something to lose. Then again I grew up on games like that as a child.

This will be great if it's done in real time.

You can have a que that everyone goes into and match survivors levels to close to equal to each other.

Best thing would be to have a Deadly PVP and a non/deadly PVP.

Ugh. So not a competitive person. Hope it's optional or this game is going to lose its appeal for me.

I feel the same way. MY understanding is that it is optional and that you have to actually say that you're going to enter a battle.
