Scavenge Normal Vs Hard bronze chest.

AmigaAmiga Member Posts: 3,770
In challenge amount of XP in bronze chests are depend of RSL. Why this rule doesn't work in Scavenge maps?
Hard or Normal 18 vs 23 lvl has the same amount of XP in bronze chests = 4700.
I made few runs and even with higher guarantee XP reward Hard XP Scavenge map is worst in overall compare to Normal mode.
On Hard we get at least 5k XP less plus more possibility to visit our sweet nurse.

Increase XP also in chests.. not only guarantee XP reward otherwise HARD mode is still useless.

Actually, it's the same for challenges, isn't it? The XP mission crates seem to be capped at RSL 19 or 20 at approx. 4700 XP for bronze. I don't recall seeing any higher amounts playing challenges at RSL 21+ Unless I'm trying to reach the next challenge reward tier, I don't bother pushing too far because the risk/reward ratio just gets worse and worse.

    That's why I don't push higher either.
    Max RSL 22 and quit.

Personally I don't want a reduction in gold chest drop rates. I don't feel like I get an excessive amount as it is, let alone having them drop even less often.

However I 100% agree that rare equip (sometimes even 2 levels below my current survivor level!) is a kick to my Bitch Nuts :s

And I just finished 4 missions on Hard mode... I didn't notice any crate rewards difference from the Normal mode. Am I just unlucky, or are the crate drop rates the same ?

    @Shteevie Higher risk, higher reward?

They gutted equipment runs long ago.

    Woha! That's the answer ;)))
    Thanks @Shteevie

I got a gold crate today in the scavenger mission and got an epic assault Armour. that is a first for a long time.. was excited about that..

Ok @Shteevie, but what does it mean exactly? Please shine a little more light on that.. (getting appropriate gear without paying tg's is my main concern in this game right now, on normal i get legendaries two levels below my current level, when on hard it drops a level above, little frustrating i'd say)
I know you couldn't remove rare gear from gold chests just like rare survivors can't be removed from golden calls but, for the sake of RNG god, please tweak the odds for epic gear drops. Right here I'm begging you sir just to do that only. No more and no less. And everyone should be happy then, guaranteed ;)

Couldn't remove rare gear in gold chests? I think more highly of their capabilities than that. I think it's more like won't. Whether one agrees with that or not is a different story, surely. I was more excited to see gold chests back in the day, of course, but now I am freed from that filthy rush of greed. Ever forward! It is good news to hear some good news, of course.

    It's a simple formula:
    bronze: common, uncommon
    silver: uncommon, rare
    gold: rare, epic, legendary

The legendaries are the 'extra good' stuff on the top that breaks the pattern and makes for the wow moments. I agree that those wow moments are too often in crates that have low-level gear. When we do the challenge rework, we'll look at removing gear from the lowest difficulty stuff we have left.

If there's a 'greed' motive at all, it's that we know that getting to the 'perfect' setup needs to take a long time, or else the 'wow' moments are watered down and not impactful. We want you to stick around and enjoy the game a long time, and we're pretty constantly throwing new ways to get more gear rolls or better ways to earn them for free at you left and right.

So, yeah. Greed. Totally makes sense.

If it's any consolation, the odds of legendary gear from mission crates are exactly the same now as they were in version 1.0 on release day. So I hear you if you say that you feel unlucky, but I have to flatly refute any assertion that we're somehow squeezing the drop rates to get more money out of players. If we wanted that, we'd put Legendary Gear crates in the gold shop and take them out of the TG shop. The day we do that is the day after I'm gone.

@Shteevie I know you get attacked a lot. Reread my post. I was saying that I used to get a rush of excitement when seeing a gold box on a gear mission because of my greed. But that after months of no joy on opening them, I am cured of that greed I used to have in my heart and not yours.
Now, if you think to tell me that after playing a year, running thousands of missions for gear, and now having no joy for months that it's all in my head or unfortunate rng, I'll flat out tell you I don't believe you. That may be a function of being higher level, but not fewer runs for gear.

And also I am very happy running a mix of epic and legendary gear, with a few rare in the mix. As I came up in the game I earned that privilege by running exclusively gear runs to the exclusion of supply and xp. My camp did not build as fast nor my people level as fast, but I got to enjoy good gear on the journey. Because if the probability of a trait is so low I can't tell if it's there, I don't care if it is or not.

Thanks @Shteevie, i know the formula already and totally agree on "wow effect" thus i don't have ANY problems with golden findings, they drop once in a while, ALMOST just like epic stuff...and there's a problem imho. Please answer to one question:
if rare gear drops so often in silver crates than why it is so damn hard to find epics in golden crates?? I can agree that better stuff mean lower chances but come on! Its almost 60\40 for finding epic\legendary (for me). I'll understand if it falls under prohibited economy issues, but I'm just wondering if you plan to do something with it...thanks again, in advance :)

I wish Rare Gear wasn't in Gold Crates... it's just not a Gold Prize imho
Can we remove Rare Gear from Gold Crates? It's always an automatic scrap.. or maybe create a Platinum or Diamond Crate that has only Epic & Legendary?
I know I'm reaching.. but it would be oh so nice @Shteevie

And put a small chance of epic in silver. You folks are by no means giving away the store, lol. Rare in gold is ok, but it shouldn't be the rule.
  • DarkZeroDarkZero Member Posts: 339
I'm just going to guess that level 57 players see the formula as:
    bronze: crap, crap
    silver: crap, crap
    gold: crap, crap, crap
    legendary: 7,500 TG crap
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me DZ.

Good idea @GrimGael, that would cause desirable by NG "wow effect" as well ;)

Not much to say here before the update announcement is sent out, but I hear you all, and I agree that things can be made better without "giving away the store" as it was said.

^did you see my posts above @Shteevie? I don't want you to think I was attacking the motivations of you and your team when I was not.

I will explain the lol I don't want you to think I'm laughing at you or your problem. It's just hard for me to read the forum and not laugh. Everyone has tried so hard to Control speech on here and be politically correct that now we all have to add a "not being a jerk" clause to all our posts or else someone will think we are attacking someone. It should be easier for grown people to have a discussiobn.

Haha, my friend, laugh at what you find funny. I've worked hard to have more lol's than likes.
I've put shteevie on the grill before, but I never want to be misunderstood.

Yes, @GrimGael , I saw your post above. I think we can find a middle ground, and maybe with the next update you'll see that we are already making steps in that direction.

As for 'political correctness', there of course are many ways to make any given point. I'd rather see some super obvious clarifications of tone and intent rather than the complete other side of the spectrum, where players refer to NG or each other in very hostile terms. If asking people to think twice and post once is what it takes, I think it is a small effort for a large gain. I'll be the first to admit that I've stepped over this line myself, but hopefully more often in defense of the game and the team than as an aggressive statement towards anyone.
