Outposts; are the walkers allied with defenders???

Twice in two consecutive Outpost matches, I have seen walkers walk right next to defenders and not attack. Why? Is the AI that screwed up in this game? Really?

    @kafir , defending walkers don't attack defenders. It's by design.

    Some mods or devs previous answer to why they made some change in the game was because they wanted to make it more realistic. So I guess walkers not attacking a meal close by because they captured them to defend their base is professional courtesy or something? That's realism, huh? I guess I should just spend more money for them now....that's the only realism they want...

    LOL, you are late to the outpost party but forum user @Necroboogie theorized the following.


    Wrong!!! Next issue! ;) Lol Obviously the defenders are covered in walker blood/gore and attackers are sprayed with fresh blood as they go thru gate.

    And don't forget attackers are sprayed with blood going through the gate... Just saying ;)

    Not helpful becaue I cannot access whatever you posted. But to protect my property, I'm gong to dig a moat. I'll spend a lot of money to dig it and fill it with water...then I'll add a lot of piranha. I'll spend lots of money to feed then and nourish their habitat...they I'll go swimming because I spent all this money to upgrade their place and feed them...theyll never attack me. THAT'S the devs thinking it seems...

    So you spend TG and supplies on your walker pit, upgrading them placing them etc. and you want them to attack you? There's no way they'd let you build a defence and then somehow let that defence turn against you!

    Just make all raids (realistic) deadly - with perma death ... you lose a character or a hero, you have to unlock him/her all over again !

    How is that for "realism" ???

    The walkers should smell so bad that everyone should have to cover their noses and then no one can fight because their hands are over their noses!!!!!!!

    I think this would be resolved if the first turn at the gates the zombies can not be in range to attack you. That or the opening of gates only counts as half a turn.

    I feel like there is a few situations where getting hit is totally unavoidable. I am sure one can argue that that is just how life is.
    When soft cap comes I quit the game.

    NG is forgetting that the walkers that appear after the gate is opened are not the ones that the defender upgraded.

    Personally speaking, I'd be fine either way if walkers were programmed to attack defenders, or not. I just don't see it as making any significant difference. Raids have turn-limits anyways after gate, so by the time walkers get close enough to defenders, it probably means the raid isn't going well for the attackers. If I'm the raider, generally I have to keep moving forward on the offensive and try to pull defenders out of cover; not shooting cover-to-cover with defenders all day and waiting for walkers to join the party. So if they ever make walkers neutral, that's fine with me.

    In my opinion, the "I spent TG to capture/upgrade defending walkers" train left the station long ago. For several reasons. If you raid you know what I'm talking about.
    A tiny exception are those lucky ones who haven't changed their defensive positioning since NG partially failed their attempt to move the starting positions to suit the whiners. Sometimes they shave a few points off my party. Otherwise it's just XP. I was planning an essay on the socialist nature of the walker pit to encourage people to upgrade for the right reasons, but I guess this is it. Upgrade, everyone upgrade, so all raiders can get better XP. There’s no downside.

    Other than the cost of upgrading that is. I have better things to do with the TG than upgrade my walker pit. The TG cost seems out of step with the rest of the economy. I have upgraded my standard to 12, my armor to 10 and my fattie to 8 and have captured to 2 armored and 6 standard but no fatties. The cost are just to much at this point. So, there are enough there to fully charge before you attack my defenders.

    Always level first then capture. Low level specials have never bothered anyone in the history of time. Yes, it costs. But NG does not fail at every change they attempt. 7 updates from now they will find a way to make it useful again and punish those that didn't. Personally, I do it for hospitality, but you should at least max normals' level. These are the ones that put pressure on raiders at the end stages of the raid. Unless you are ignoring defense which is fine too. I also like to have every capability available in the game, whether I do it or not. My defense is set for convenience to raiders, but it's a choice, not a necessity.

    I guess the walkers are just trained monkeys like developers...it really is BS that they don't attack any "human" near them.

    It's clear that there are no walkers defending outposts, it's just 15 more defenders dressed as walkers with walker guts smeared all over them.

    It was like Christmas, I opened the gate and surprise ! My very own lvl 17 tank walker was waiting for me.
