Yes, leaderboards mean nothing, Theres no benefit except some bragging rights.
But then that means that NG are limited to what they can do in future. So what happens if the top players get rewards. How would people feel about LLS?
I personally don't choose to use LLS in the challenges. I don't have any, and I prefer to focus on leveling up the survivors I do have. I also have no issue with those who use LLS as a gaming choice. It has no effect on me or my guild, directly or indirectly. I will also say that many of the players that do use LLS are also among the very best in the world, as they showed on this last challenge, when the LLS strategy was basically useless. Someone from DTP can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe their guild star total was higher this week. They are also some of the most helpful to other players, whether they're on the official FB page, or here in the forums. They are always happy to offer advice to new and experienced players alike. For example, @NCDawgFan seems to always be on the FB page trying to help others. I honestly don't think he sleeps. The point is this: they are not cheating. They are not the enemy. Their use of the LLS strategy doesn't effect anyone else, really. Let's all just have fun, help each other, and kill some walkers.
PS: If NG does anything to try to improve the game, it should be reducing the strength of the Freemen. Their ability to take damage at higher RSLs is ridiculous.
I just know there are some who want to remove this from the game because they think it's the same as an exploit where it gives them an unfair advantage at keeping their rank on the leaderboard. I say, don't worry about the board.....just do what you do to enjoy the game for yourself.

I imagine a lot more people, myself included, would start using LLS.
Why not just remove the leader board altogether. It seems the top 10 players ha e been the ones playing the longest and have spent the most. If none of them seem to care who is at the top lets just delete the leader boards.

I agree with that. Obviously they still have to play hard each week, but the majority have been around since day 1, and have benefited from the first star issue last year (although most will probably say they never used it).
Wow extremely divisive and hot topic here. I have been following discussions about this for a while now and my opinion is that even though NG says it's not an exploit it is an unintended strategy. It is counter intuitive to not upgrade buildings and survivors and I doubt that NG would want to promote such a thing to the entire player base. I'm aware this strategy does not work in kill all the walkers missions and with having to complete all 6 missions should be less effective. I've seen a few good suggestions here that would solve the issue and I'm sure that NG is weighing the pros and cons of any decision that they make.
Obviously by my above statements I do not use this strategy. In my opinion it doesn't seem like very much fun anyway and if and when I was going to spend money for a gas booster it would be solely to take advantage of weekend events to better my survivors not for a few more stars. My fun is leveling my survivors, equipment, seeing how far I can push in challenges, collecting heroes, raiding some, and chatting with my guild.
I think the leaderboards should be wiped. It seems everyone says they don't care about them anyway and if they do care then it shouldn't be a problem to resume their rightful spot with strategy and money lol. I'm not knocking those that spend money, I really appreciate that you do, it supports the game I love to play. I know I can't really compete with those that spend a lot but that's ok. Am I competive? Sure, I've been mostly competitive with myself, always trying to do better. I've been competitive in any guild I've been in leaderboard or not. I just know the confines of my competitiveness.
@Terminates I was pulling your string :P. You know what I mean. I know you won't care if it is wiped. I also know that you do care about being "the leader at what you do". Who wouldn't? Leaderboard is a platform to reflect that (for now)

I mean it's good to have passion about things that are truly important, like the best way to kill walkers in an online game. And if you put a small amount of all this passion and energy into discussing real-world events, like the recent terrorist attacks in Sweden and the Bowling Green Massacre, then maybe it doesn't matter what level your survivors are, cuz real life.

Funniest thing is that everyone cares about the leaderboards and for those saying the top global spend money.... Amazayn and Sekushi rarely spend any money at all on this game and I've spent very little. A couple gas boosters a week and some time is all it takes. Most on the leaderboard didn't pay to get there. We worked our butts off for over a year.
In my opinion its more of a strategy than an exploit or a loophole. I don't do it, but I think its clever. It justifies having a mix of survivor levels as opposed to maxing out all of your survivors into nearly invincible super heroes.
Not a strategy I'd use myself but fair play to those that realised it in the first place. I just wonder how NG could stop it even if they wanted to, and seeing as it can't be used on every map (I don't think), surely it makes little difference to anyone not chasing top 10 leaderboard positions.
“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option.” (Bob Marley)
I don't have LLS and I don't want them. Some people uses them. Ok. I don't see a problem here. I only have one concern about it. In the past people shared great tactics on some channels like YouTube. I had many Learnings from that and adopted some tactics from those great players. If people now concern about them and their tactics and NG nerfs the next thing, what is the result? People who discovers new great tactics won't share them with the others. This would be a great loss. I am sad about it.
So at the end there is only one thing to say: Live and let live
If the leaderboards were wiped, after 1 week 90% of it would look exactly the same. What would be nice is for everyone to be able to see their actual position on the board, and be able to compete against their close rivals.
After seeing all the reactions in this thread, I'd like to offer my take on the topic as well, to try and offer a neutral, on the point perspective:
I believe that the topic itself is mislabeled. Why? Let me explain:
A person cannot have any issues if he/she uses, or does not use the LLS approach. It is simply not possible for me (just using my person as an example) to hate myself for employing or not employing a strategy. OK. So where does the difference in opinions come, you would ask. Easy: It comes when I do something that others do not do, or I don't do something that others do. If we try and translate it to a common wording, the dictionary would advise the usage of the "envy" term. Now don't get me wrong! I am not calling any of the LLS pro or con players envious of each other, I am only trying to state that the individual game strategy employed by each individual should NOT have impact over other players. As a really good example, one should be concerned about the length of grass in it's own yard, not the neighbors. So I am asking: what is really the point of this discussion? Is it the fact that LLS should be allowed or not because of a technical aspect? Or, the fact that LLS should be allowed or not because I (again, using my person as an example) cannot do it as well as others do? If you read this far you probably deduced that I believe that it is the second option, for the obvious reasons. And my response would be to encourage each player to find the best strategy to reach the highest possible star count (which in my opinion is the point of the game). If players choose to use their 10 star pink hero with the perfect weapon or they employ a lvl 7 scout with specifically matched equipment it should be their choice, and not anybody's business, especially given the fact that those options are available to everybody.
Now, If you want to drag NG into this topic, I'd go and suggest a different approach. Instead of asking to modify the game, to completely remove a playing strategy, I'd advise on asking them to improve the game and add new possibilities. A very good example is the decrease in healing times and/or addition of an extra hospital spot that some players suggested.
As a conclusion, my advice would be to chose a strategy that suits YOU the best, master it, and get as many stars as possible. If others use different strategies, do not disregard them as malicious, instead focus on what you do.

Thats because you utilise LLS, so therefore you are not spending as much gold on healing get survivors.
And I would be interested in what you have spent to life on the game. I would have to say that it's more than just a couple of gas boosters each week. (maybe not u exactly but the other u have mentioned).
I know that people in the top guilds have spent thousands on this game.

I don't think It's about envy, rather because It's not logic at all. It's like sending in flyweight fighter to fight a heavyweight. How do you think that would end?
Keeping or removing LLS same result @Shteevie do it, remove them ASAP. Thank you. Ps: I am NOT trying to offend anyone nor being sarcastic. Pls. grant these people their wishes. Goodluck to today's challenge guys.

@Baluban I dont have to please everyone. Make up your mind people, you want it gone then so be it. I made my point here just like you do and everybody else. I'm sorry but it is what it is.
How about, instead of arguing, everyone here bands together to get the Hospital/Healing time logic fixed? It's beyond dumb that as my Survivors get better, they take longer to heal. And since NG has turned this game into getting a few top notch survivors instead of a gazillion Legendary Survivors, the hospital time is bottleneck in reaching your potential in Challenges.
From a pure $$ perspective, NG has to want to fix this. The people using the LLS strategy are the top spenders, and NG is losing $$ from all the lost gold saved from this strategy.
Personally, the LLS strategy is something I'd never do and find it dumb (from a gameplay logic perspective, not dumb for the people who use it). But I'm also not super competitive and have spent less on the game over it's entirety than most people that use this strategy spend in a week on gas and gold for healing.
