@OneLessTitan lls is smart and efficient so how do you find it dumb? You're using lls to save gold. It's plain and simple lol
He said it is dumb from a gameplay logic perspective.
Meaning - it is better to not upgrade survivors (and some buildings) - lower level survivors are better than high level. - LLS heal quicker than a HLS. Surely HLS should have the benefit of healing quicker.
How about, instead of arguing, everyone here bands together to get the Hospital/Healing time logic fixed? It's beyond dumb that as my Survivors get better, they take longer to heal. And since NG has turned this game into getting a few top notch survivors instead of a gazillion Legendary Survivors, the hospital time is bottleneck in reaching your potential in Challenges.
From a pure $$ perspective, NG has to want to fix this. The people using the LLS strategy are the top spenders, and NG is losing $$ from all the lost gold saved from this strategy.
Personally, the LLS strategy is something I'd never do and find it dumb (from a gameplay logic perspective, not dumb for the people who use it). But I'm also not super competitive and have spent less on the game over it's entirety than most people that use this strategy spend in a week on gas and gold for healing.
(I know, I like to repeat myself). One way is to set the hospital healing times at Player Level not survivor level.
So for a Player Level 58, an injured level 10 survivor would take just as long as a Level 20.
That would change the usefulness of LLS, and probably promote a larger survivor group.
To start off, I think whoever discover this LLS technique is extremely smart. He/she is not only know the environment or the platform very well but also constantly staying on top of the innovation side. Mentioning LLS is not merely enough. We have to mention the tactic of a map, wrestler trait, the survivors' traits, the possibilities of the re-spawn and how they all play into one equation. Once you understand the mechanic of equation thoroughly, that is when that person can make it work. I think he/she deserve an award to come up with that technique. Extremely creative! It is not what they have but it is about what they do with what they have!
Once the aspect of the game play on LLS and how the developers develop it, as many already said, it is definitely bit flaw but understandable. However, we must ask ourselves if a solution comes up "how would the propose change will impact veteran players and new players alike?" "Would that impact the game play of F2P vs P2P?" "How would that help the game grow for both world?" and "is it doable in term of coding and servers?". I saw many good ideas on proposed changes but it will be up to NG to decide what would be best for everyone. Of course, it would be impossible to make everyone happy but I think the game is going into the right direction at this moment. I am superb happy with the new challenge format presently. Of course, there are few minor tweaks needed to be done but stepping into the right direction is part of adapting to the demand of the mass.
Back to "LLS", in my personal opinion, I uses here and there to be honest. However, I don't use it much at all to farm for stars previous version of the game. Why? I simply does not have enough time and the patient to do it. Again, I do think people that uses it are extremely clever, competitive, and smart. But I cannot afford to do it with my time and cannot withstand the pain to do it. On the game side at next released version, do I care if NG decided to make a change to it? No. Do I care if they don't make a change to it? No. It is simply the current challenge format is already somewhat preventing LLS to fully capitalize on the technique.

I got a great idea how about the best star getters get together from the top guilds and start a new guild together and utilize the lls and challenge dtp since the current guilds can't even get close
If I were playing Everquest or WoW....and took a Level 5 Character and found some way of killing an endgame mob (AND get the loot/rewards) becuz I equipped a Leet Sword of Asskicking - I guarantee that would be fixed in a matter of hours. Previous gameplay experience in a multitude of other games is what leads me to look at this as an exploit.
It has nothing to do with Leaderboards, or jealousy (I can technically still get LLS if I wanted to since I'm only Level 44). It's simply a matter of Risk vs Reward for me.
"Individually, we are but drops of water in the ocean. But together, we are the ocean!"
This very unfair. Everyone keeps saying that a LLS can beat a level 30 and get me high stars. I am wasting lots of gold trying to beat this level. Might go broke if I keep this up. Well, I have these three guys that are level 8/9 that I dont have xp to level up to 20. Got them in a radio call. I can't beat all the tanks with them. Why? I got 4 more to kill. How in the world can I make this work. Maybe that new Rufus gun will help. This is unfair. Why can't all my fighters beat up to level 30. Let alone these level 25-26 tanks. How do I get past this level. Is it possible with a maxed level 20 all ten stars pink??? I don't have the money to afford such a fighter, let alone 3 of them. Can we nerf the tanks and allow them to not have such high HP and can we at least stub them with assault and bruiser. This is so unfair.
Where's a LLS when I need one??? This is unreal. Anyone know a tactic on how to win level 26? Costing me a fortune on gold. 25-75 gold bars. Am I just not that good at this game. I must suck since I can't beat this level. How can I LLS this like I read about.
Of course they can't hit my green health guy when I put him in front of the dang Walker. Goes after my hurt guy to kill me. Sound like some IT issues. This is completely unfair. I need help.
Ok, LLS don't work well. Might be scraping them for tokens since they are garbage. Just called out my tank busters. These guys destroy all level 30 tanks. What ever you put in their path they kill. Rick Grimes got nothing on them.

Dude... u don't need help. You need more gold... tons of it. Go to Costco and buy the iTunes card bundles... $85 for $100 worth of cards. But be warned... u never know what's gonna be nerfed next.

Lmao! I can't believe this 'debate' is still ongoing. I have no horse in this race. I don't have the patience to chase 1 star past a certain level, but I have no problem with those that do. From what I've read & observed, this seems to be a cat fight between 2 very small, but vocal groups. The majority of posters seem to favor live & let live, as do I. As I said, this particular issue doesn't personally affect me or most of the 120 players in my guild family. But when a handful of people try to take away players rights to play the way they choose, I'm greatly bothered. I hope NG is aware that this is a power struggle and not a legitimate concern to most players of all levels. @Shteevie
Retired, but not entirely dead. "Really? Good luck with that!"
@DonCoqui Never thought of that Costco deal. Don't shop there but that's sounds like a good deal. Extra $15 in extra gold and I need it too. Next month will have to look into it. Thanks.
I'm definitely pro choice. Play the game however you want. I may not use low level survivors, but I'm not going to take that option away from anyone else.

As you might have noticed, I have largely been staying out of this discussion, despite repeated mentions. This is for a number of reasons, not the least of which being my workload. However, I don't want to give the appearance that an issue like this, that carries such importance for many of our most dedicated players, is not also important to the development team.
The issues about low-level survivors first appeared before the challenge rework was launched. There had been lots of discussion here, especially in the Challenge Rework planning discussion subforum, about the issue then, and we had designed and specced out a possible solution. This discussion was further carried on with the playtesting of the challenge rework, where top players from both sides of this discussion were present. Everyone was given their chance to have their say, and every comment by every playtester was received and read by the development team. It should be noted that the play in the playtest focused almost completely on top-level characters, and it was thought, at the time, that the requirement to complete all missions in a set would prove to make further changes unnecessary.
I am continually amazed by the lengths and creativity that players engage in order to push the limits of their skill, and of the game in general. I have no doubt that, no matter the number of changes we could make, those kinds of players will always be able to do a bit more and get a bit farther than we would think possible at first. That is the primary talent of these kinds of players - to make the most with what tools are available. No single tool is as important as the minds and dedication of these players. You can see it in sport, where top players and teams stay on the top after equipment or rules are changed. The same goes for gaming in any competitive context.
We are looking at several possible adjustments that could realign the intent and spirit of the game's design with its play. We always intend for players to have reasons to engage walkers in combat, to level their team and their gear to new heights, and to complete difficulties that once were impossible. For the sake of transparency and complete clarity, those areas of possible adjustment include the way healing times are calculated, the functionality of the Wrestler Trait, and the current maximum enemy level. It should also be stated that we are also considering adjustments to the number of rounds needed for various point of difficulty progression through the Challenges to make it easier for players to hit the point where their skill is truly under critical pressure.
It is too early to say that any of the above changes will or won't be in the next release. We will use the standard process of releasing information in the week before the launch of the update. I want to repeat for emphasis, however, that each of these elements was under examination long before the 2.4 update was released, and that this discussion, while extremely insightful and even at times really helpful [when it remained respectful], was not the cause for these elements of the game to come under review.
Best of luck to everyone in the current challenge, and as always, thanks to everyone who posted here for again providing a rousing and spirited discussion. Kudos to everyone especially who remained constructive and supported the community in general.

Wow, you're 54? Long time no see, when are you joining me and nicky? Btw, how was your hike?
Interesting comment by Shteevie. Quite a diplomatic response, and yet inherently implying that NG already has an idea what they may likely do regardless of any further bickering amongst all of us players.
No matter the updates, the changes, the complaints, the LLS, or what ever is the new flavor for NML. Many still will have problems reaching these upper tiers in the game.

@Shteevie Thanks for the insight! I'm fairly indifferent to this issue, but you did mention some progress on 2.5. Any hints on a rough release week? Presumably not this month, but...? Any ballpark idea would be cool!

As it has been said many times in this thread, LLS can only make a difference of one or two stars now.
I wish NG used its resources to create new content instead of fixing tiny, tiny problems like this one.
And I fear NG's fiddling may cause new problems that are much bigger.
Check out the DMZ guild. We're recruiting. Here.
