I love your game I truly do, I've always liked turn based games from the very first one I played which was Rebelstar on the humble ZX Spectrum way back in 1986 and that leads me onto my main point.

That game some 30 years old now is more advanced than yours, sure it's inferior on the cosmetic side of things but the workings behind the core gameplay element that being the combat is way more advanced.
It takes into account distance, angle, cover and you even have a choice of 3 shots types depending on how many action points you have.

So here's some ideas which I hope the right people will see.

Radically overhaul of the AP System
It currently makes no sense and here's why, so in a move you can do the following actions

Move 1AP Move 1AP
Move 1AP Attack 1AP
Move 1AP Overwatch
Attack 2AP
Move 2AP
Overwatch

You can see the inconsistency right away if when you move then attack the attack only uses 1AP why if we chose to remain stationary does it cost 2 AP with no additional benefits.

My proposal is to introduce a AP value based on class which makes thematic sense, such as scouts have the most as well there scouting and it can be scaled down based on the other classes skill sets.

We also need the flexibility to spend these points at will (even if we keep the current 2AP system) an attack shouldn't end our move, we should be free to move then attack or attack then move. Also when it comes to bonus actions that are free actions in the case of the Warrior & Shooter we shouldn't be forced into using the special move 1st we should be able to use our regular attack then if we chose to use our bonus or free shot.

On the flip side if you insist on keeping the Attack ends your turn give us some additional benefits for using our 2AP to attack since we're putting an extra point into it. Same with movement if you insist on keeping it the same if we use both at once give us more distance.

Improve your hit detection
This really effects classes such as assault and warrior mainly and hunter to a degree, but many a time a walker has been on the edge of the cone or field of attack but nevertheless inside the zone and not taken damage. Basically if it's in the green it should take damage.

General Combat Calculations
Again I refer back to a 30 year old game that took into account the angle, distance and cover to calculate a shot. At present in NML it makes no difference if you are on the limits of your range or have the barrel of your gun down a walkers throat which again makes no sense.

Auto Body Shots
This need to be removed as it just installs a ceiling on how far you can go bar a few lucky runs where you would scrape through. Even put a negative modifier in to vs higher levels is better than auto. Your basically just clumping everyone together and stifling competition.

Guild Star Changes
The new rule change that it only counts people's stars who were in the guild at the start of the challenge is the wrong way to go about it. People have to leave or decide to quit the game for legitimate reason your handicapping a guild for that two week period if this method is used, its quick fix on this one that you've done but not the right fix. The perfect solution is if people leave their stars are deducted. I know why you havant done it this way and it's likely because people could keep dipping under a reward threshold and earning it multiple times but a bit of effort on your part can make awards only receivable once.

Give Melee Some Love
Melee needs a complete overhaul as at the moment your making 50% of your roster nigh on unplayable, I don't know what the soultion is maybe significantly higher dodge bonuses or higher damage in general as they take more risk.

Illusion of Choice
This needs looking at also as it's misleading to a lot of players. Still have the 9 boxes and populate them with items but then let's have it as a genuine choice rather than items 1-9 on a hidden list in order that we get regardless of what boxes we pick. Same with the cinema boxes too.

Story Missions
You partially addressed this with hard & nightmare modes but these will be exhausted at some point then the contents is locked. Why not make the story missions infinitely replayable, they are by far the best content in the game yet it's locked out once you clear it.

Fuel Generation
This weekends event was great I could play the game when I wanted, when I had a spare 15 minutes. Now it's back to 10 minutes per fuel and for example I had a spare 20 minutes yesterday afternoon went to pick up the game and I couldn't play because I didn't have enough fuel. I'm not saying reduce it to a minute like the event was but maybe reduce it by 50% (5 minutes) or 6 minutes so that would be 10 fuel an hour. I can only speak personally but if I'm able to play the game more I'm likely to spend money on it.

    Surely the NG staff players see this too. it will take time but it will be great to see a roadmap about how these common suggestions can be addressed through the releases.

    yup agree with the lot, especially the mele team in particular scouts, whoom with their only 1 target attacks and the fact their damage isnt that much more than a warrior means youd never choose, perhaps in addition to movement maybe make the brain stab a "free hit" like the shooter so at least you got a chance to go again or move away after an attack

    @Putchuco Well if a 48k game that loaded off a audio cassette can do it 30 years ago there's no reason they can't do it here.

    Portrait size in missions

    This needs reducing or removing, it currently displays no relevant information other than how many kills needed for a special attack.

    They are just way to big in their current form, move the kill count pips to above the survivors head and when you have your special available have a button appear like the fast forward button when you select them.

    Alternatively make the portrait relevant, either a health bar displayed and telling us the survivors state of injury.

    do i have to? anyway;
    first is fuel regeneration. i dont wanna go on details but i realize that its not for my advantage. fuel increase capacity is ok but not fuel shorter regen,.
    2nd is illusion choice. it is made that way so that no one can cheat by doing an airplane mode and repick again to get the better reward on first try.
    3rd is guild star changes. the change that will be made on update 1.6 is ok for me as it encourages trusts, loyalty and dedication among guild members and leaders. it may not be perfect but it cannot be abused. while poppy's suggestion is also good but i see loop holes. it's like "if you're strong, join my guild and i'll kick the weakest member even in mid challenge". im not saying they will do that, but what prevents anyone from doing that?
    4th is AP system.. he suggested that we should be able to use free attack even after normal attack. This will make the warrior OP. he will be able to attack 3 times in 1 turn, ex; warrior has charge ability. he uses charge ability, still got normal attack. he then uses normal attack and killed 3 walker. charge ability online again.. he then can use charge ability again? that OP.

    On 2, @Poppy was referring to the crates after finishing the mission. NG admitted that the content here is pre-set, there is no retrying as the result will always be the same.
    So, why give us the illusion? Same for the cinema crates.

    On 4, yes, this might need some finetuning as to not ridiculously overpower another class like the hunter is atm. But, the general point of considering attack+move after is very valid, and could make for great gameplay. It might very easily make the melees worth something again. Attack, and then step back, have another survivor interrupt the walker on their move.

    Mostly agreed with you. Also I will add colour health bar during missions to be sure about wounds.

    Gas issue can be solved in many ways ;
    - reducing refill time
    - increase significantly gas capacity
    - significantly reduce gold cost req to full refill
    - reducing gas amount req to start mission.

    @Putchuco That is why i disagree on them because the suggestion needs a fine tuning.. i dont want to change something if the changes will only lead to an abuse.
    The pre-set content of the crates, what change will you do to make it a genuine choice without having a way to abuse it? If you know how it can be done then i would agree. But as of now, nobody can suggest anything to make it work. So i disagree on changing it..

    @AysatyoPet I know that you are a big fan of 10 min refill... but honestly I have no idea why ;) seems like you don't like play often or you prefer to use gold to refill. I don't see any other reasons.

    Items I don't necessarily agree to:

    1)Radically overhaul of the AP System
    -I think the game would be too easy if melee could attack, then run away...

    2)Guild Star Changes
    -I don't like the idea of subtracting stars... if someone leaves, that does suck, but that's life... besides, if you can't find another person, then you lost a person and you lost stars.. imagine if your top 2 players leave on the last day...

    3)Illusion of Choice
    -This is really a non issue.. who cares if the order is already chosen for you... your suggestion only creates the possibility of abuse...

    Change to Assaults Attack

    Allow assaults to fire upon a space to better direct there cone instead of having to focus on an enemy.

    This I agree with, so many wasted attacks because you need a walker.

    Great discussion. As for gas, the last event I think benefitted more the newer players in terms of progress. Again the gas time is to give development time to plan the next move if not they would have to increase the cost to upgrade astronomically. Outpost isn't ready for a while so enjoy the next update.

    Give double attack charge to scout so it is same as shooter, but melee
    Change warrior charge to extended arc
    Change bruiser attack stun arc and charge critical damage or longer stun which stuns also fatsos

    Make Portraits more useful

    I've mentioned earlier in this thread about the portraits in mission been useless but since 1.6 introduced it saying struggle on them can we please have it state there injury status.

    Reason been the on screen pop up isn't consistent and borderland injures are hard to judge.
