Episode 9 Nightmare mode end reward: Helen, 2* assault 17/20 and notions about the Puzzle strategy

Dear @TK-421 ,
I like to thank Next Games via you. Compared for example to Scopely and TWD Road To Survival game, No Man's Land has treated players very well and has not perseillyt (finnish expression for cheap tricks).
I was very optimistic that it could be worth to play third time Episode 9 in nightmare-mode as the end reward was better in hard mode than in normal mode. I got this, image below
The gear was not included
The three first stages of Episode 9 in nightmare-mode were very enjoyable. 4th - the Puzzle I'd like to criticize a bit, but i do not. The to last stages were really hard and actually each 3 last missions took three attemps to sharpen strategies and trying different combos.
The Puzzle was the hardest. For me, it was very important to get my studio team moving immediately because of the spawn nest producing lv17 basic zombies. After two attemps, I managed not to jam straight in the entrance of the puzzle. I got it through bruiser-hunter-warrior, other combos are of course possible. Check the order of your studio team. In the first round I got bruiser in the puzzle, managed to get also hunter inside with aiming the fat boss and warrior took the first basic zombie in the entrance.
After getting decently inside the (very long) puzzle, the rest of the mission was like usual strategic planning. And, as we read all the time about TWDNML: forward, forward all the time with every round.
Althought this character is over level cap LOL I hope I can keep her
I suppose it will take a bit of time before the Council and the Workshop is possible to upgrade and to get better gear to Helen (at the moment lvl cap for upgradeable gear is 14).

All the survivors you find on mission are 2* but they should be 1 or 2 level above your current maximum survivor you can train, they are great when you outfit them with weapon & armor near their level. I used a lv 14 assault from a mission for a long time, when my survivor where lv 12.
They get much less body shots!
PS: congrats btw!
Is 9-5 something with open gate and 2 NPC (Wanda and someone other) inside gate? If that is the case I used in normal mode 2 x hunter + bruiser. In recent hard and nightmare modes playing I have got enough strong warrior so I replaced bruiser.
This 9-5 stage can be divided to 4 phases or suboperations.
1) Starting to open the gate
There are other good strategies but this has acid tested 3 times
2) Inevitable close contacts and hits
When zombies start to make close contact and ur characters start to get hits - and I think is inevitably - just try to eliminate the closest ones and evaluate carefully which shooting lines are hitting more zombies in one shot. This and other nightmare mode missions are basically one-mistake minigames, meaning moving management finger just slip in screen of mobile device and the mission is over.
3)The Mess aka The gate is open
When the gate opens, several things happens: a) a fat zombie appears from the right building and start to struggle that nearby NCP not ur characters (it's scripted). b) U get more space to place ur characters and c) there is a total mess on the gate. Really a mess and it is one of many cools features of this game
Bruiser might do, but this is the reason why warrior or other the third AOE class (warrior / hunter / assault) character (others two I recommend here are 2 hunters): There is a free grid cell where warrior can hit both the fat boss and at least 2 zombies in one hit, depending on the situation. Naturally warrior needs a weapon with large angle. Another hunter can shoot the fat boss also and another shooter overall zombies. I think I have put another shooter shooting (boss zombie) just inside the gate.
4) The Great Escape
That's not enough (sic). U have to get to the Exit area. The is a main cut sequence in which u can't influence. Depending on the situation, sometimes it is possible just to walk to exit because zombies have better things to do. But supposedly u have to protect NPC also to get to the Exit. That is basically just forwarding to Exit and considering optimal shooting lines.
Hopely this helps and if not, please just ask more details
I think two assault and a shooter may be better. The shooter opens the gate while the assaults control the zombies on each side. Once open, the shooter kills the fatty. On the escape the assaults control each side with the shooter picking off the strays.
Of course I'll have to upgrade some more assault items for the second assault before I try.
Thoughts?

After you kill the fatty, Helen will stun the zombies. Which, if you set yourself up correctly, will allow you passage to the exit.
As a basic thumb rule - in most cases not all - a character lv N kills with one hit basic zombies lv N+2. Some classes can hit more, but assault hits realiably lv N-1 of his/her own lv. I think this is just normal game balancing and mechanics, assault has good range and angle options, so it cannot be so powerful in its hits. So it is easy to count, for example I have lv15 chars, lv18 nightmare missions are possible, but hard trying and a bit luck how mission is randomized. lv19 nightmare missions are just impossible (for myself), so I have to wait next Council upgrade.
As I tried to explain, maybe not clear, in my POV this is clear AOE characters mission, there are others where for example melee team and not alerting is better. Bruiser (and/or shooter or scout) may not do, I tried just bruiser.
