I'm fed up with having to draw with opponents, or kill them all if I can be bothered, when all I want is the TG. I loved the "all I want is you TG" confessional thread ages ago but it seems blocking is back as a tactic. So why are people blocking again?

Gotta bring a scout when you're raiding. If the TG are still unattainable, it's bloodshed time. Pick and choose your battles like you said. It can get annoying.
I'm not sure why people block though, hence the post. Why not just let raiders get the TG and piss off?
Anyone who blocks/defends on outpost and wants to comment I'm interested why.

Blocking is a completely valid tactic since outposts are designed for fighting. And it's also annoying when farming TGs and wanting to avoid hospital time. I don't like to waste gas, so I fight.
I'm struggling to understand blocking and aggressive attacking when most people are playing nice and making it easy.

I would just disagree with your one comment stating that "most people are playing nice." No. No, they do not. I previously ran a social-experiment making TG's accessible and using low-level defenders. The majority slaughtered them anyways. I did this throughout different Cycle-tiers for weeks to observe differing demographics. Same shit. (I intentionally didn't do experiment with buffed defenders out of the way, as that wouldn't truly gauge the Outpost nature of raiders).
You see, the harsh truth about Outposts is that people are only as good as the situational environment allows them to be. For many players, grabbing TG's and fleeing is not done out of some honorable mindset; it is self-serving to avoid hospital time. But I observed that if/when attackers can kill with ease, they tend to do it anyways even if unnecessary. (There was literally only 3 or 4 players that didn't take the bait and kill. For those few, as I stated before, you are truly your brothers' keeper).
Thus, I have no faith in the outpost community.
For this reason, above all else, I resumed blocking TG's with my crew. If my defenders are naughty, then go ahead and spank them. If you can.
Happy hunting, and stay safe out there, survivor!

I think people that don't go for the kill are the minority in terms of the game as a whole, not just the forum.

I personally raid "only" for TGs too, dont need/want to raise my influence. Even allowing others to raise theirs with my LLS and lvl1 equip. What bothers me is, that outposts are still broken. Being offered same target(with low TGs) for 2-3 times(8 times in row happened too), getting 10+ influence for winning raid, loosing 0-2 influence for lost defence, triggering hero traits that are not present etc. Hope NG adressed those in next update.
For some time raids were significant part of my gameplay(made myself comfortable reserve of 350k TGs), but now Im going lower and lower, not only because of spending those, but also because of not raiding as much because of said problems. Give me my lust for TGs and blood(sometimes) back.
Btw if I can, I kill spawned walkers and 1-2 defenders for bonus XP, even in case TGs are not blocked at all. Just trying to avoid hospital time.

I respect your viewpoint but I'm disagreeing with you because my personal raiding philosophy is similar to the OP. I also disagree with your 2 turn crate opening suggestion and your statement that some of us are playing this game mode the 'wrong' way. I don't believe in right and wrong ways of playing, I like personal choice. I also don't understand how most of your raids are boring because some people choose to leave their crate open. You're obviously attacking the defenders anyway, so what's the difference?
In the present state of affairs, it's silly to block tg. If outpost were "meant" to be a fight, it wouldn't be set up the way it is: no tg loss for loser, etc.
Once upon a time, outpost was a fight. You lost 10% of your tg stash. And those days were great. Outposts were fun. It was always a fight, and you could win as much as 5000 tg in a single raid.
People complained when they lost raids, and complained when they lost defences. NG tried to balance outposts this way and that, but less successful outpost players would always whine, no matter the balance. They wanted to win every attack and every defence without ever adapting their strategies.
Eventually NG said "Stuff it!" (an Australian translation of whatever they actually said) and made outposts free tg for everyone. They took the fight out of it, because players couldn't handle the fight.
Long story short, I really sympathise with @zerosouL. I miss the good old days of bloody outpost battles. But that's not today's outpost. Today's outpost is tg for everyone! So blocking crates is dumb.
