Assault strategy

Does the walker your assault weapon is focused on get the majority of or more of the damage? Is it the same for hunters shooting a line? For instance Hunter is targeting the last in line. Do the walkers in front of that one get less damage?

As far I know there is no difference in distance.

I don't know about the Assault class but my Hunter went to shoot 3 lvl 13 walkers in a very straight line and the middle walker survived. Maybe it's random

There is no difference based on distance, arrangement, etc. The only thing that changes damage is level difference.

@bgbelden I've seen that too. But what really made me wonder is when my assault fire is focused on a single Walker, it can take them out at higher levels than in a spray. Same thing if there are 8 Walkers in a spray, the one my target is on will always go down.

I have similar experiences regarding zombies in line. Sometimes walkers drop and sometimes they do not.

And my Lvl 15 Assault (Epic) sometimes takes out Lvl 15 Zombies with no issue and other times they are left standing. According to http://nomansland.wikia.com/wiki/Walkers the Lvl 15 Zombies I am speaking about are the normal ones with 433 Health. My lvl 15 Assault has an upgraded weapon (Legendary @ Lvl 18 all traits unlocked, started at 15) with Critical Chance at 10%, Luck at 15%, 45 Degree Cone. Total Damage at 609 with Epic survivor.

Tried it again. Some died, some didn't. Two went down, others took damage

Did your main target go down?

Looking at the video I may have slipped. I thought the main target was the one immediately in front of my. But looking at the smaller picture to the right you can see the tracer which is off to the shooters left. One in the line went down (and so did the zombie to the left of the one that went down.) The one in the immediate front took damage but did not go down. I think there was a slight shift when I fired, so the one that was not injured was probably outside the cone.

Damage roll is per zombie. Of course you're going to kill some and not others.
And yes the one that was undamaged is outside of the cone of fire.

@zoson but is it true that the main target always goes down?

There is no differentiation that I've observed... And you all know I use assaults a LOT. The only purpose is to direct the cone of fire.

as far as i have seen with hunters and an expanded bore
    assault with expanded burst
is the brighter green target line is the concetrated fire and only spot to critical
so i focus there to begin everything else is a crap shoot

I use them all the time myself. And I see the issue constantly, though the cone above was off for the fringe. I have a 16 and 15 with good weapons. Love The Room on the current challenge :)

the damage dealt is different for each target walker. some may take bodyshot, some normal and others critical. no matter who your target is, the % damage each receives is random..
