This is worse than the previous Ultimate Challenge. Round passes every 5 rounds with fewer rounds to play. Significantly reduced TG rewards (because fewer rounds are completed). No improvement in post-mission crates. And I'll run out of challenge very early and have nothing to do this weekend. Thank goodness for The Distance!
I will be glad to get back to the regular version next week... except that I'll be hurting with fewer round passes...
I agree. I enjoyed the first ultimate challenge. The only complaint was "lost stars" which we all know is a non issue really. This second UC just proves the devs haven't been listening to the feedback at all.
If this challenge version becomes THE fix I'm out.
Wasn't it supposed to be not as hard and challenging so quickly for lower level players?
Got into a struggle on my baby account (my survivors are level 14 and 15) during the first round. I just had 2 or 3 round passes, it's not as if I had skipped tons of rounds.
And here I thought getting bruised during the second round was bad...
This definitely not going to get good feedback. But hey, it makes UC1 look even more awesome.

If they put that finger a little further south of Orion’s Belt, they’d hit Uranus.
NG, We asked for Ultimate Challenge. But mistakely you have placed Insane Ultimate Challenge Version. Can you please check and swap it with correct version
Here is a picture of Uranus, so at least we learned something because of the new improved UC. See - more time for research already! This pic was posted to let us forestall a tragic misunderstanding, which might let some of us think on other old scary things^^
After playing a few rounds I actually really like it how we are faced with so many tanks and fatties early on. It now feels a little more like a challenge instead of mindless grinding through the 1st thousand stars...
So far This ultimate challenge is a good week for many of us players actually be challenged early on which I think is a great approach and change from what we been doing.
Rememeber over the last few years we have been going through many different challenge layouts!
Remember those days we used to always start at level 1 every challenge?
Or the time we had that and two challenges back to back each week?
At least we know NG is listening and trying to take steps towards a better challenge.
Thank You and hope everyone has a nice journey through Memory Lane!
@Shteevie@Teeceezy@Kaz I was going to wait until the Challenge had finished but I can't now. Are you guys absolutely nuts or what ? This UC2 is too hard, stupid and not enjoyable. Normally my team lvl 23 2 x 6 star 1 x 7 star go to lvl 28.1 without dropping a star. NOW at 24.2 and 5 tanks smash me DEAD on first go with no choice. How is it a challenge when I spawn into game and I cant do anything and have no choice but to die ? All you did was load maps up with too many tanks and amoured (OVERKILL) and say oh here is the new UC2. IT SUCKS !!!!! Why so hard? The rewards are more frequent in star rewards and better but not to justify the hardness. MIssion crates at the end are STILL CRAP BADLY 1 and 2 star insta(s)crap junk. Your not doing anything better for the game, Challenge sucks, Badge crafting sucks, outpost sucks, no new story modes (players been asking and asking), no new missions (players asking and asking), rewards are useless and scrapped (players continually complaining), yet you want people to spend stupid amounts of money to pay to play. When are you going to start listening to the players and stop making bad decisions on our game. You are clearly NOT listening to the community at all. Do a poll in game and ask who is happy with the Challenge and get some REAL data. Next week we are all screwed as the grind will be huge due to lack of passes this week. If you think we will be grateful to go back to previous Challenge because this is soo hard, THINK AGAIN. People are on the verge of quitting and deleting the game from their phones and they are telling you this to silence from NG... . This is your only source of income and if you were a real store with goods I would accuse you of self sabotage. You would be bankrupt in 6 months as your customers would refuse to do business with you. Business 101, your customers ARE YOUR BUSINESS. Make this game fun again... PLEASE listen to us and work with us not listen to us and do what ever you were going to do anyway.. Yes I am ranting because I LOVE this game, am passionate about it and want it to be fun and great again. I've investaed 2 years on this and lots of money ... How can you expect people not to be vocal when you heavily invest your life in something and people wont listen nor seem to care.
Could it be. They intentionally make it like this so we stop complaining about the grind? So we wanted harder? Here you have some nightmare. Everybody will be begging for easier. They'll be saying: "You guys don't know what you want"
Not me though. I like it this way, but I know this won't work out for the majority of the player-base... smh.
I was considering make a poll thread towards the end of the challenge but I now realize that's pointless.
It seems most commenters made up their minds during the first round.
I'm enjoying it so far, which means I appear to be in the small minority here.
I'll withhold final judgment until I'm deeper in, but I'm not bothered by the ramp in difficulty. I wanted more challenge+less time, and that's what I'm getting. It might be a little too much, too fast, but I'll have a better idea once I get to RSL 27 or so.
I’ll just mention this once and I won’t bother saying anything else again:
Valid concerns expressed here by my fellow players; but perhaps we’re all looking at this from the wrong angle. For NG to justify/balance between shortened challenge formats versus generating $ revenue, this week is a test. Less grind, but increased chance might have to replay maps. If we’re one of the players that got bruised at a lower RSL and therefore spent extra gas/gold to replay for 3-stars, then we’re feeding into the data analysis. Maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong. But let that sink in for a moment...
At its core, this has been a wonderful gem of a game with a good mature community. I respect that. But I no longer find the Forums to be of any usefulness nor productive. Good day, all.
NG is trying to find a perfect balance for all players. They are hearing your complaints, and you must agree they are active on the forum. It might be just me, but i like this challenge.
Why are we to keep the conversation constructive if the result is (always) chaos? NG has problems with communicating changes; that's not new. I'm fine with one round pass every fife rounds or more heavy walkers, but both? And I'm still waiting for the better rewards.
i dont like it! im still new to the game and its way too hard for me! why couldnt we choose between challenges like in "the distance"? would be better..
I left my old guild because I was bored of the challenge grind - I only have a limited amount of free time, and spending hours and hours, bored, repeatedly playing easy levels is not how I want to spend that free time.
I have been playing a little bit since, but also started a second account. So as both a veteran player and a newbie, I was really looking forward to this weeks challenge. I had been hoping that NG had been listening and would make some positive changes. I started in a very optimistic mood!! But what has happened is really disappointing.
The significant increase in the difficulty of the levels is causing negativity. I am still in touch with my old guild, and everyone there is moaning about UC2, saying it is too hard too quickly. I am messaging them saying that the problem is not UC2, it is the extra fatties and armoured.
Why make two changes at the same time? It’s obvious that if you do, it’s going to be hard to tell which change has influenced opinion. Players are right now thinking that UC2 is too hard. It’s easier to work this out when you’ve been playing the game for 2 years, so I’m sure the majority will not realise this.
I want to be positive, but it’s hard to do so when this smacks of a deliberate attempt to get bad feedback on UC2. We will then be told that public opinion is overwhelmingly against changing the challenge format. So back to the grind.
The last two maps are pretty horrible. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to kill the initial pile of fatties and armored before at least one survivor is stunned for most of the round. In past runs of these maps you could generally carve out a safe side, but it’s not happening here.
I will be lucky to get more than three passes this week. Really hating this challenge.

No double rewards like last time
At least I got some legendary ones unlike last time

Now next week is gonna suck as far as grind since its not 3 rounds a pass. We ask to decrease grind....NG hears they want grind increased
Trying not to be negative or toxic.
Just hard not too. Sorry for that.
Or is it just me?

This is extremely disappointing.
A big mistake on a crucial test week.
Well played NG! Lol
