[Skill] Does "Overwatch" with a gun cause more threat?

Hey, lots of people did not know this. So I just wanted to make it clear,

"No. Using overwatch with a gun does not generate additional walkers to come out."

So you don't have to continuously have to walk back and forth to waste your gunner's AP just so they don't use "overwatch" :D

Right, which is also why interrupt is so strong on anyone holding a gun.

It should also be noted that weapon spread does not exist in overwatch. So hunters and assaults only hit one target on overwatch instead of their usual line and cone.

That is true a lot of the time but not all. I use my hunters in overwatch all the time, and there are times when my hunter does kill multiple zombies with one overwatch shot. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how I can make it happen all the time.

Also I would like to know how much less damage an overwatch hit makes versus a regular hit. Clearly you can tell that an overwatch hit always inflicts lesser damage and you need to take that into consideration when judging the closing distance between the zombies and your hunter.

That's why I don't like overwatch with guns when I hunt for experience.

    Overwatch does half damage, always.

So if a hunter would be able to kill a line of level 10 walkers... then in loose terms he is able to potshot a line of level five walkers (half in actual *damage* and not level

If the weapon is able to fire wide... should still be doing the same...

Note placement of walkers when overwatch triggered matters

between hunter and shooter, i prefer to use overwatch on shooter, and regular attack on hunter. my reason is, hunter's base damage and weapon damage is much much less than shooter's base damage and weapon damage. in this matter, shooters damage more than hunters in overwatch. During regular attack, shooters still damage more than hunters but only shoot 1 target. hunters can kill multiple walkers if they are aligned. So, i prefer to use hunters during regular attack because they can damage more and kill more compared to when they are in overwatch. i just recently got an assault, so im still looking at what he can do.

I routinely farm overwatch hunters on the funnel missions.

Two hunters and a warrior killed 138 walkers on one of the two funnel missions (lake shore) on terminus challenge and I only went active when the overwatch charged up critical shot

I backed up the warrior when the level 14 walkers started showing up because the stragglers that came from above or below the conga line of death were getting too powerful for the warrior's overwatch, and the conga line walkers were starting to take three hits from overwatch fire to die

Remember, overwatch only reaches as far as the hunter can shoot in regular fire WITHOUT moving for the shot

Two or three Hunters on overwatch rule the conga line missions

Note you have to be near the exit before the conga line starts to make it work...

BTW, the hunter and assault can kill multiple targets in overwatch. It does not happen all the time, but it does happen often.

They definitely hit multiple targets (just tested it)

    This is incorrect.

Hunters and assaults do hit more than one target on overwatch.

Nice! Playing 2 lvl 16 hunters and a warrior is my usual combination. I found that they can 1 or 2 shot lvl 17 walkers, 2 or 3 shot lvl 18, and about 3 or 4 shots for 19 in overwatch. The lvl 20 walkers seem to take more body shots, and require you to actually shoot them, preferably in the head!

During the challenge with the walkers in a cage, I placed one hunter at each gate, and let them overwatch all the armored walkers till they were gone, and used the warrior to kill any walkers that spawned on this side of the gate. Those overwatch hunters at the gates definitely killed multiple targets while in overwatch.

I haven't paid much attention to using a shooter in overwatch, so I can't say. I'll have to check them out more.

I have seen a warrior take out two walkers in overwatch, but that might be because a walker came out of the ground, just as another came into range. :)
