Hey, lots of people did not know this. So I just wanted to make it clear,
"No. Using overwatch with a gun does not generate additional walkers to come out."
So you don't have to continuously have to walk back and forth to waste your gunner's AP just so they don't use "overwatch"

It should also be noted that weapon spread does not exist in overwatch. So hunters and assaults only hit one target on overwatch instead of their usual line and cone.

Also I would like to know how much less damage an overwatch hit makes versus a regular hit. Clearly you can tell that an overwatch hit always inflicts lesser damage and you need to take that into consideration when judging the closing distance between the zombies and your hunter.
So if a hunter would be able to kill a line of level 10 walkers... then in loose terms he is able to potshot a line of level five walkers (half in actual *damage* and not level
If the weapon is able to fire wide... should still be doing the same...
Note placement of walkers when overwatch triggered matters
Two hunters and a warrior killed 138 walkers on one of the two funnel missions (lake shore) on terminus challenge and I only went active when the overwatch charged up critical shot
I backed up the warrior when the level 14 walkers started showing up because the stragglers that came from above or below the conga line of death were getting too powerful for the warrior's overwatch, and the conga line walkers were starting to take three hits from overwatch fire to die
Note you have to be near the exit before the conga line starts to make it work...
Otherwise you ring the dinner bell.

One step closer to my fate. One step closer to my grave.
During the challenge with the walkers in a cage, I placed one hunter at each gate, and let them overwatch all the armored walkers till they were gone, and used the warrior to kill any walkers that spawned on this side of the gate. Those overwatch hunters at the gates definitely killed multiple targets while in overwatch.
I haven't paid much attention to using a shooter in overwatch, so I can't say. I'll have to check them out more.
I have seen a warrior take out two walkers in overwatch, but that might be because a walker came out of the ground, just as another came into range.
