What do you think about the new challenge schedule ?

Some people in my guild (including me) don't really like the new challenge schedule with 2 challenges in one week, leaving us not enough time to really reach our max level. And you, what do you think ? Do you like it ?

I think two a week is too much and there's not enough time before the next challenge starts.

It is way to much to expect out of our guild also. They are losing interest, have no time to do chlgs, missions, get Srvrs ect... lvld up, stars are low. Hope they change this up. I hr in between chlgs is going to create burnout. & it's asking to much. We are concerned.

I wish challenges gave more experience, but other than that I like 2 per week

It works for me. It's not like my people can go through it that many times so having two a week means I can get more stars. But I can see how the maxed-out players would feel differently.

If they keep the same schedule, then they need to add more maps to the challenges. But I agree that the turn around time is too soon. It forces play instead of allowing people in guilds with a more busy schedule time to catch up.

Please change the weekly challenge back to one per week. 4 days of a challege (with some of the days falling on a weekend) and 3 days to gear up and prepare for the next chalenge, interact with other game systems or just chill out would be the sweet spot

I agree 2 challenges back to back gets a bit monotonous & gives nobody anytime to do anything else, if ng insists on the double challenges at least make them equal time with a full day or 2 to at least do other missions to farm xp & supplies or complete story episodes or even just take some time off whatever the player wants to do or needs to relax a bit before another challenge, a lot of people enjoy the game in their leisure time but also need to remember that people also lead busy lives & can't expect a game to demand as much time from them as it does & im sure the developers want more ppl to play then to quit

Yeah, it's harder to get a ton of stars with the shorter time, but they did change the reward levels. If you play the challenges, you lose out on the story missions. You have to pick what you want to do. I like the additional options, but I'm somewhat indifferent on going back to the one-a-week challenge.

Lol it's a good decision from the devs point of view.....
For all those players buying gas, you now have to do it for two challenges. Idiots.

    This is your own fault
    No one is forcing you
    No rewards for doing it
The guild challenge is in option that either you do or you don't.

    A couple of thoughts:

Yes, it's hard to get a ton of stars with the shorter time. Maybe that is the point. Maybe they think people are maxing out too quickly and they want to slow the process down.

People are saying how they don't have time to do two challenges a week because it takes so long to run through them multiple times. So don't.

I understand the addiction. I was away this weekend, in a place where I couldn't always get the signal I needed, trying to harvest my tomato cans, while people were laughing at what I was doing.

When I arrived here (late to the party), I noticed that people were upset about the exploit which apparently affected the stars which resulted in some guilds taking over the leader board. (or something like that.) This has lead to, or at least contributed to, people being very focused on getting their stars.

My suggestion: Wipe the leader board. With a clean slate, maybe some people will relax a bit and adapt to the 2 challenge a week schedule.

For me it's ok. I hit wall quick so no point to stay longer with the same challenge. Also difficult jumping quick so again no time for boring. Another plus - I don't have to spend 6 days with the same maps.
Improve the rewards and I will be really happy ;))

2 challenge per week is Ok for me , my opinion is Mod / Devs did very good for that , thinks 6 days for 1 challenge so boring , when gas cost decrease have more time to deal with challenge , but i admit need 1 day to rest or farming xp/tomatoes for upgrade , maybe Monday to Wednesday is first challenge and Thursday to Saturday is second , Sunday is rest time and enjoy weekend event

@tammy Maybe changing your friend twice a week as well would help. :#

We are actively looking at the way the challenges work. The feedback is valuable, thank you. Not announcing further changes just yet.

    I fully agree!

As someone who has a real life full of work and family (no friends, already lost them cause of playing this game..^^) and in terms of casual gaming, I need to say that 2 challenges per week in a row are too much.

Two challenges with the current effort is definetely too much for most people, especially if you can get 200+ stars, are in a guild, or want to maintain a real life. Of course any combination of these makes it worse.

I also prefer one challenge per week, but if you really want to keep two challenges, then I suggest that players can skip the lower level missions somehow, e.g. all missions which are recommended for a level which is at least 5 levels below the highest survivor level.

It's probably too much at the moment but if they improve the rewards from challenges then you'll want to spend all your gas doing the challenges anyway.
  • tammytammy Member Posts: 1,716
Lmao...I actually gave said friend my alt to play with the other week...he has no regard for the preservation of my survivors though so that as short lived

I'm not sure I'm sold on the 2 challenge per week system with lower gas costs. The lower gas costs are nice, but with so little time for each challenge you really need to use most of your available gas to max out a challenge without having to pay. I have a feeling this is going to lead to player burnout. Maybe one challenge a week with an intermediate amount of gas cost (between old system and current) would be better.

I also would have preferred that the difficulty scaled slightly differently. It would be better if it ramped up 2 levels for every 3 stars up to a point (say recommended level 15) and then ramped up 1 level for every star thereafter. Although this would make it harder for lower level players to participate in the challenges, they would still be able to get a taste of them. In any case, I think low level players should be more focused on completing story missions and advancing their characters than doing challenge missions anyhow. Higher level players would benefit from being able to more quickly get through the early missions. The slower increase in difficulty would also better discriminate between more and less skilled players.

You either have to not sleep or buy a lot of gold to catch up if you want to be top tier.

Is being top tier worth it?

i like it and after i maxed out my level plus played all episodes i will love it. ;)
but for now i'm focused on building the camp and leveling my survivors. the challenges are a nice change between the supply runs. :)

If Challenges were once a week and for only 4 Days, that is fine. Even better that are not the Weekend events. Gives us time to play the Challenge and participate as Guild Members and also work to playing the game to upgrade and the rest. I know there has been mention that the rewards may change for the challenges, which could shift things a bit. But in terms of XP and Supplies, which I need, the Challenges are causing me to leave chips on the table.

After countless level 13 Rare Scout and Bruiser outfits, all with poor traits and tossed, the rewards are not high incentive. Also I do not care about being a top player or member of the guild which is [#x in whatever chart] so gaining stars in and of themselves does not do much for me.

Though, to be fair, I did pick up a decent weapon today at 180 Stars. And I enjoy the Guild I am in, speaking to people in it and working to see if we can make it to the next level on any given week.

I think the challenges will be worth it once the rewards r revamped. Give it a chance.
