Is using an EXP bot cheating

Well, I'm the guy that caused this whole debate. I was using 'Bluestacks' to play the game from my pc. Then I was using 'Auto Mouse Click' to just press the End Turn button for me. Both programs are easily found via Google and easy enough to set up and run.

My defense for this practice is as such:
    First of all,
    Bodhi said:

When it was just Player against the system, whatever. With PVP coming it seemed to me a completely unfair advantage to those that play straight.

Well, to my knowledge, it still is that way. At least I was not aware that the Outpost update already came out. When it does come out and *IF* staying logged in does end up preventing you from being attacked, then I totally agree that that is cheating and I would not continue.

Secondly, if you are suggesting that using any method other than actually sitting there and doing the clicking yourself gives you an unfair advantage, than this is a "Pay to Win" game and is, itself,

I justify that, because currently in the game, you are able to use real life money to buy in game gold. You can then use in game gold to pay for missing resources (gas, supplies and guess what - XP).

Personally, I don't think this is a "Pay to Win" game. I don't think that leveling up one's survivors faster by acquiring XP faster (either by regular farming, farming with a bot or just busting out your wallet and paying for it) is going to help you "beat" other players.

I have to think that when the Outpost update comes out, there will be some sort of match making that prevents someone with maxed survivors from attacking a lower leveled outpost. But again, that update isn't even out yet. When it does come out, I will re-evaluate my use of the bot accordingly and make sure to keep it fair.

How do I set that up on my flip phone?

So you'll reevaluate your botting after all of your botting experience is spent leveling up your survivors and weapons to maximum.
    Gee....thanks.

@Bodhi Just curious, do you feel that using real money to pay for the XP is just fine? You simply abhor this because I was aware of a way to automate a repetitive task.

@jester Sorry bud, I'm not aware of any way to do that.

@jester Unfortunately there is currently no advantage to using an auto clicker for the game Snake

Paying real money to speed up everything gives much more advantage than farming xp. But this is ok right?

If EXP bot only works for Android simulator on PC, it's definitely cheating because it brings injustice towards iOS users. Otherwise it's only about personality. Actually I found 7-3 XP farming myself when trying nightmare mode, but I thought it's not an appropriate gameplay. I didn't flee after killed 100+ walkers and went to the exit to end this instead.

Oh is it 7-4? I can't remember as it's long time ago.

Of course not. People paying to get experience is why the game is free for others. They pay to have a competitive advantage that you take away by the simple fact you found a way to get what they get for free. You're too lazy to put in the work of actually farming, so you wake up daily with a free 300k experience bonus. And what's incredibly sad is that you sit there and justify it and advertise it like ripping off the same thing people have to pay for with a computer bot is ok.

Look, idc really if you do it. That's why I put no names and no league name in the original post. If you're ok with loophole excuses, kudos, that's on you. Knock your self out.

Btw I bet over 80% voted for No have benefited from EXP bot, especially those who have posted lots of reasons and are still trying to convince others.

Amiga, you actually equate people paying for experience, the product the game offer you to buy, which is why the game exists in the first place, with using a computer bot to get free exp? Really? SMH...
  • Ok I feel as an elder in the group that you left I should comment. Our guild in no way shape or form has ever condoned cheating! It was made very clear during the star glitch that using that would not be tolerated. We are a great group of people that play to have fun and share experiences. I feel as others have posted that it is a gray area. I asked you how you thought we should go about the bot issue, and you wouldn't listen to anything we had to say! And to clarify, in your OP you state we said do whatever you want if it benefits the guild and that is completely false we never ever said that and wouldn't say that. how does a player getting xp benefit the guild at all anyway!

First at all it is not free XP :) It's XP for killing walkers. How you kill them? It's our choice. I'm also paying for "expierience"

Hmmm, where can this "bot" be found exactly??? I would to see it in action, before weighing in on this debate. Strictly in the interest of science and fair play, of course :)

Amiga, sorry, I'm not going to debate the terminology of the exp you get from a computer program while your sleeping is "free" , earned, or something other verbiage.

Seriously? How does it benefit the guild? Gee, I don't know. Get further in stars than you should which leads to higher guild achievements? You don't think there will be guild rewards for PVP that start next week that he will win because his survivors are higher levels than they should be? Should I go on?

Look, I'm not looking to battle debate with a league I'm no longer with. That wasn't the intention of the thread. I was just curious what others thought. Again, that's why I didn't post names or what guild, so you are defending yourself needlessly If you feel I have spoken out of turn about what was said, feel free to post a pic of the conversation, and if I'm wrong, I'll retort. We apparently remember the conversation differently, and since I'm not longer in your line chat, I don't have access. But yeah, guessing that's not gonna happen....

I'm in this game since release date. You joined this month. I have my POV you have different. Thats the way it is. Even with farming XP I'm still behind me $$ friends.....
Like I wrote many times NG robbing us from XP which we get from scrapping gear. Still waiting for changes in this subject....

I think this is one of those cases where no one is going to convince the other side...

From a player standpoint a person using a bot or a person spending money.. the effect is the same.. they get max survivors/weapons faster...

The Devs on the other hand are the ones that might have to worry... how many people using a bot would spend money if they could not bot? Is the loss of possible revenue worth changing the game to minimize bots? etc...

I used $$ to buy bundles ect but if NG will force us to stop farming XP I will quit game instead of paying more $$. Now the question is - better to keep ppl who spend some $$ or better to force him to quit? I think the answer is one....every little counts

Ohhhh, sorry Amiga. I didn't realize there was a cut off date. Is there an area in the forum that posts this? Some chronological guide that says what you can speak up about and when? I mean you've played for an entire 4-5months, and I've only played for 2, so obviously I don't know the morality of game play versus the vast wisdom you've offered up so far. Please please please become the champion of the poor honest players until I become worthy of your wisdom if an entire 2 months more than me...

(This is where you Google the definition of chronological. Sorry, I tried to keep it to three syllables or less)

I'm sorry. I misspoke. I said that a guild member said"As long as it helps the guild get stars, who cares". It has been pointed out to me what was actually said was 'I'm probably to new to av an opinion on this but whichever way the guy levels up it all helps the group in the gathering of stars'.

I was clearly way off base in my paraphrasing...

of course using a bot is cheating.

    Step 1) Create a robot.
Step 2) Have the robot push buttons for you.

I'm still stuck on step 1). Anyone remember the episode of Big Bang Theory, where Howard has the robot hand? I think that could be used for this purpose.
