No Bodyshot Event Question for Kaz

The event description says on sunday there's still a small chance of a bodyshot for ranged attack or vs armored... if we use a weapon with gold piercing will that make it so there is 0% chance of bodyshots?

Unfortunately not :(. Even if you use weapons with piercing, Ranged survivors still have a minor chance of body shot, and it's slightly increased if it's against armored walkers. The percentage is something around 1% to 3%. However, Melee survivors will have a 0% chance in any scenario this Sunday. :)

So piercing basically has no effect during this event @Kaz ?

No, no, it's a bit more complicated (as everything is in this game, right? haha).

So there are two types of bodyshot chances, one is innate to your Ranged survivor and also to Armored walkers (against ranged survivors). The other is a general bodyshot chance that it's applied to every survivor you have.

During this event, we decrease this general bodyshot chance, so for example: If it was 50% chance of bodyshot before, now it's 30%. If your weapon has a gold piercing (-30%), you will have 0% chances of having a bodyshot.

However, those numbers, including the piercing trait, don't take into account this innate and small bodyshot chance of Ranged survivors and Armored Walkers.

To keep it short. Yes, Piercing is even better this week, but you might have some bodyshots if you are using Ranged Survivors and using them to fight Armored Walkers.

Huh? 2 bodyshot types is news to me @Kaz ... can you explain how and when each is calculated during a ranged attack?

    Sure!

So imagine every survivor has a 10% bodyshot chance against a normal walker, right?

Melee survivors will have this exact same chance against any enemy.

Ranged survivors will have this 10% +1~% (for being ranged) +1~% (if it's against an Armored Walker).

How does RSL come into play affecting this?

So the chances of having a bodyshot (if you are not a ranged character) starts when you are 3 levels lower than your target, once this difference gets to 5 or more levels it means that you will be facing a 100% bodyshot chance if you are not using a weapon with piercing.
During the guild week, we decrease all those chances, so after 5 levels difference, you will never have a 100% chance (The max is 70%).

    Hope it helps! :)
