@blynknz yes, it is obvious that you do not understand. Maybe your *spoiler* double post plus one more( just in case), while there is a ban in effect, was a bit irritating. That's why I stayed away. Also why I advocated one thread, opened by a mod.

I see no need to worry about days and time zones. Just have a Spoiler category (clearly marked as such) and, in that category, a thread for each episode. People can chose when they want to join the discussion.

    Very nice solution @Dale
  • A thread for the show, cool, should be up at the beginning of when it airs so there can be commercial discussion, if someone hasnt watched the show they shouldnt look in the thread

Thank you! We tech geeks like to follow the KISS rule: "Keep it Simple, Stupid".

We are all old enough to keep our spoiler comments in the spoiler category and to avoid the spoiler category if we don't want to be spoiled. As long as it is all labeled, it seems to me that it would work.

Unless NG has some odd agreement with AMC that the show won't be discussed here at all. Is there an official AMC forum for discussing the show? It is possible that our moderators have no choice here but I don't know enough about the agreement between NG and AMC to say.

Lol, with the exception of having a separate area for the shows, that's what I had suggested also.
Yes I accidentally did a double post. shit happens - I renamed one of them when I realised. The other one was directed to the admin of the site.

That's fine for it to be opened by a mod to stop multiple threads being opened

Heh heh, I don't think AMC can police the entire internet, let alone Facebook alone! Even Talking Dead is on right after the show, with-in minutes after it aired. So I don't think it much maters when a thread is started, as long as it's not leaked material for a show not even aired yet. If that's even possible, since the actors aren't even supposed to talk about it.

@Teeceezy, if there's a hide feature for posts on the forum, it should be activated so that for episode discussion it can be hidden so that there's no accidental spoilers.

Of course not. I'm talking about this site. AMC has an official agreement with Next Games. This is a Next Games forum. The official agreement just might say something about this forum.

Not watched?? Be aware of spoilers here. For me it's simple. I won't get here until I watch it.

Anyway you can find spoilers on every corner of internet ;)

That's exactly why I stay off the internet until I see the episode. I haven't even checked my email.

A clearly marked thread that's not allowed to spill over is fine. I know how to stay out of that thread. Don't put what did you think of "insert spoilers here" in the title

That's why it should just be 1 thread for an episode. Nothing else.

@Teeceezy is there anywhere (maybe on the activity feed) a position where comments are showed directly (without choice to enter the topic)? keep that in mind please.

Not sure I got what you said, but I agree.

Three things to consider if spoiler leakage is as bad as people seem to say @Teeceezy :

    1. In the forum entrance, the recently active thread title per section is displayed for all. I guess this is a reason to moderate a spoiler free title per episode. Another option would be to disable that for the spoiler section.
    http://forums.nextgames.com/walkingdead/

    2. Searching the forum you can select which sections you want to include. Default: all are included. The search results are displayed with both title and matching post text. If mods can change the default to exclude the spoiler section that should help.
    http://forums.nextgames.com/walkingdead/search?adv=&search=Glenn&title=&author=&cat=all&tags=&discussion_d=1&discussion_question=1&discussion_poll=1&comment_c=1&comment_answer=1&within=1+day&date=

    3. Looking at the recent posts for an active user shows thread title and post. Same as #2 could work, or maybe I'm the only one doing this anyway.

I still believe making episode threads is overcomplicating, but it's worth a try. I definitely agree with having a separate section, that should simplify for all and minimize risk of leakage.

I would like to do a poll of the character (show) that people miss most but I figured it would be removed even with a spoiler warning? Rule would be they had to be on for at least one season. Mods approve?

Yes yes yes! Haven't seen it - don't read the thread. I have to avoid spoilers for other such things myself.

But @Teeceezy I did have to smile - no spoilers, but we have a "Call me Jesus" bundle. Lol!

Yes. What @SistersOfDaryl_Gaga said. Is that not what we were talking about doing? I agree it definitely needs to be clear that spoilers are there. It should not be anything that someone accidentally wanders in to.

@JAG very good points. I guess there is a fine line between that and turning this inot a general fan forum. That line being, IMO, that often stuff from the game appears in the show and vice versa. And it's like "oh now I get where that came from". So in that sense they are very much connected. As someone pointed out the bundles come from the story.

the "call me Jesus" bundle.. i dont think it spoils anything that much. for those that havent seen the latest show or the comics, what does the bundle tells them? a new character named Jesus.. it's still just a name.. who this guy, what it can do, what it did, is it enemy or foe, and what its purpose in the show, all of this is still a mystery. the bundle just reveal a name, nothing more.. if you ask me, there are other thread titles in the forum that spoils more than this bundle did..

I agree about Jesus @AysatyoPet, but that's also why it's fun to make jokes about it. I even thought Carol Wolf pack was fun (as per joke, not as in sth I'd use)!

And I suppose the difference by forum threads and bundles is
    1) You can avoid forum but not in game bundle ad
    2) NG did the bundle to lure the die-hard-fans (but I guess not the threads you think of)
    3) spanking in the office sounds more fun than on the forum

I would love to see a thread for this, if watchers don't want to have the show ruined then reading an area that's open to those wanting to discuss new episodes would be their own fault, there are tons of articles and information online that At any given time people can read if they so choose to,so it would not be any different, if you read stuff that you don't want to see then your going to spoil it for yourselves, also love the new not related to NML forum thread!

Personally, I talk about the episodes on Facebook and in show forums. I don't really see a need for them here. If they do go on these boards, they should have their own board rather than just lumped in with general discussion. With a separate discussion area for show related content, discussions are less likely to get bumped by other posts about the game, people that haven't watched are less likely to get confused and accidentally see spoilers, and those of us with no interest in talking about the show here can easily avoid that area of the forums all together.

Yes! No harm, no foul... if you haven't watched the latest episode yet just don't read that discussion thread till you after you've seen it... Duh!

I'm an active member of IMDb I do not touch anything that says spoilers unless I've seen it to discuss. My partner won't even read the title of the episode as he believes that's a spoiler too!

Just mark the thread title with the episode number, that should be clear enough for everyone. It doesn't make sense to have an episode thread where every post would have to be tagged. Unless the thread is titled [fill in name here] was killed by a zombie horde... I don't see an issue.

I feel like we're trying to childproof (idiot proof rather)a house here. If people are too mentally deficient to sort it out.. Darwin. That's all I'm saying.

    Don't you think?

    Lorri,
    Jessie,
    Michonne,
Andrea ( in the comics )

Even though there was a time skip after the mid season finale it started not to make sense.
Rick is a damn playboy, it's stupid how Carl doesn't give a jakkk about his dad's relationship's.
