The argument of replaying missions now falls flat because it works both ways (if there aren't enough missions on the difficulty you like, why not replay them😆)
For me, the biggest complaint was not being able to reach the challeging lvls (32 and up for me). Having 2 rounds in stead of 3 when getting there doesn't really concern me. I prefer current structure, but I don't want to take away from others.

Yeah I know, wasn't that long ago I couldn't clear RSL 30, however now I can, so screw the little guys! (Just joking) seriously it wasn't that long ago and once you are passed that point it's a relief to only have two rounds. I've said it before and will say it again I don't envy NG trying to sort this out as they have a tough job and really won't please everyone!
I am currently one of those that tops out at 30. Some weeks I could get to 30.3 and others I might not finish 30.1. Loosing the .3 levels at 27-29 hurt my stars & rewards but it is what it is and I understand why NG removed them. Once I am able to consistently progress farther it will be a null issue for me but for now it sucks.
So you want to give time back to the end game high achievers? Removing rounds that are NOT even a small blip, is not giving significant time back. I have lvl 24, 6* heroes, and round 27 is still a "one-shot" round for me without good badges or equipment.
The question that's stymied NG, "how do we get players to spend gold and buy more gold"? The answer is to increase the rewards. So, go to 2 rounds per level at high level, BUT, increase the rewards by at least 1.5x. Bring something new, maybe a guaranteed gold badge fragment for completing each level above a level you pick. I wouldn't think much gold is spent healing bruises. Give a reason (better rewards) for people to spend on the "go into struggle" rounds.
I feel the difficulty should be lowered back to where it was before. I am a lvl 70 player who has topped out most of my gear and I can barely get to 1000 stars now. This isn't making the game more fun but rather making it frustrating with less rewards.
@Construm I recommend playing Distance, sounds like you need some badges if you're max level with max gear and you're struggling to break 1000.
Now that we just had the first Guild Wars weekend, I think it's obvious these grind reduction changes need to stay permanent. I had my lowest challenge score in awhile because I spent a lot of time in GW. There's just too much to do in the game, especially on weekends now, so being able to max out challenges earlier is not a bad thing.
Just saying it again for the new ones in this thread: you're not getting less rewards. They were adjusted in the challenge so you should be getting pretty much the same exact rewards you always were even with some of the rounds cut. Use your extra time and gas to play other game modes to make up for missing post-mission crates.
@Construm I'd also recommend doing the distance and maybe watching a few vids on YouTube, my survivors are level 20, I can get to level 30 and have over 1k stars
I think examples like this show how the challenge setup actually hurts players in the long run. If you only have enough gas to play the challenge between Wednesday - Monday, therefore don't play the distance for badge components and don't have gas for outposts so rely on the challenge to buy your tokens eventually you will hit a wall.
A level 70 player who has made reasonable investments into survivors should have 7/8* survivors who won't even start to see body shots until RSL30/31. Even with just getting the green badges from the distance, maybe completing as far as mission 15, you should have solid sets of badges for your main guys and be able to comfortably get 1000*.
@crambert_nec I had my lowest score in a while also. Not only because of the time needed to play GW but also because if I played the challenge I was risking injuring survivors I needed for GW. It's not the easiest thing to gather half your guild at an exact time so I had to have my survivors ready, therefore no challenge played. Also, I would like to see a reward after each battle.
Speaking from a little guy I’m Not liking the double rounds rather than triple from difficulty 27 maybe the maxed players can start playing their harder levels sooner meanwhile getting your 3 rounds in but for the little guy game stops being fun much quicker and I don’t find any fun in scavenging
Are we going back to normal soon with triple rounds? Do the 30 gas for 1k each restock and let us play, please!!!

Woohoo! Got to my highest difficulty ever 35.1 and could have kept going if I had more time. Thing is Friday and most of Saturday I couldn't play at all! Don't think that I could have done that in the old format!
New personal best for RSL! 36.1 and a whole extra round pass. Now watch them make some change that makes it impossible for me to 3 star all my double rounds. @Kaz any tweaks being made to the next challenge?

I still like blazing through easily levels. It's not boring to me.
I also hate waiting on hospital when facing the "fun" harder levels.
My deal is when I crack my phone open to play this game, then 5 minutes later I'm sitting with nothing to do because my team got destroyed and I'm waiting to heal....?

Game Is definitely over for me way too soon on the plus side I’m Not buying a refill anymore, sadly because of my level I can’t compete in guild wars after 3rd stage, so that’s over too soon for me too and I can’t 100% complete the distance so NG how will you be keeping us mid level players playing the game too? It just seems that you’re only thinking on the end gamers that can complete everything and spend the time on it what about the rest of us?
@fahqbendover have you considered levelling you camp and survivors up so that you can go further in the challenge distance and guild wars? Yes I know this involves playing boring scavanges etc but everyone who is at end game has had to do this too.
