Something up with crap gear in crates

Ever since scrapping day yesterday, (which was appreciated) there's been a noticeable surge of brown and gray crap gear in reward crates. It's continued on today, several of my guildmates noticed it so I'm not the only one. Many of my silver crates contain brown gear.
These aren't the best examples but from the last two challenge missions I did.

    I'm getting loads too, and I hardly get anything but xp in deluxe challenge crates, I see loads of people getting decent legendary gear from them but 90% of mine xp.

    Everyone in my guild is reporting the same thing...tons of common junk in the end of mission crates.

    Even the gold crates are junk. I saw in another thread people saying gold crates shouldn't have green gear but that's what I'm getting. And the level is really low. Getting level 17 gear when my upgrade level is 20.

    I have noticed that once I proceed in the challenges where the RSL of the mission exceeds the level of my survivors the contents of after mission crates gets worse much like you are describing. It's almost like NG is punishing us for doing well.

    There's always a chance of common gear from normal crates, I see them all the time.

    I haven't noticed any increase.

    I dunno... Seems like more. The conspiracy theorist in me is thinking lower rarity junk got added when we had the free double scrap day so we wouldn't get as much XP and it didn't get switched back when it ended. :wink:

    It gets worse at the point supplies are no longer available in post Challenge mission crates. It seems tomatos are replaced with gear or components. Great if it's gold crate, otherwise it's truly awful.

    Disclaimer: Of course end-gamer won't notice that except when playing on secondary account.

    I’m not sure it was mathematically possible to give us more scrappy gear, so I tend to believe NG on this one.

    End gamers still often get common and uncommon gear from crates silver & below.

    Why are low level weapons and armor even in crates, why not just give the xp? Does anyone not on the beginning levels use anything but epic and ledgendary gear?

    What about the crap in the bundles. Seems like Halloween and Thanksgiving had much better bundles being offered.

    I don’t even pay attention to the quality level of crates...

    My expectations are, to only receive “ crap “...

    I’m always pleased and surprised, when I get quality...

    Thus, no disappointment....... ( see, happiness is just, low expectations dependency... )
