@Kaz it's hard to be harsh on the game and criticise choices NG makes without it spilling bad vibes on you. And I'm yet to meet a player that does see your importance on this community. So thanks, and sorry.
@Troublemaker , I think you've got a typo and meant doesn't? I hope so because I've never heard a bad word said about @Kaz
Quick point to throw out there, is GW gas necessary? Could the use of normal gas in GW provide a solution to this issue?
Keys would still limit participation to three battles, but players could fully participate in three (if they managed to get enough guildmates together.)
I think a lot more people would buy gas boosters on a GW weekend, even those who have never bought one before, thereby producing revenue for NG.
Or if that revenue isn't enough, (and let's be honest if the business isn't making money, the game will disappear) how about they sell additional keys? Everyone will have 3 Keys and the opportunity to play three battles (Fully if they have a gas booster). Those guilds who aren't afraid of opening their wallets and who strive for the top tier rewards can purchase additional keys and fight in more battles.
It's just an idea, and sorry in advance if I've spoken out of turn.
No pay for gas would even out the playing field. Then it really becomes team tactics. (As the mode claims to be...). Personally i think these kind of game modes shouldn't be susceptible to pay to win...
I don't mind though, not going to pay for the gas and I'm fine if people that do get to play with the chainsaw.
When our guild loses they still win. I'm fine with it.

I don't think relying on normal gas works for the wider community, with other game modes running concurrently. For people prepared to pay for boosters, it works for sure. It would end up becoming a game mode not playable without paying which a lot of people either won't do, or only occassionally do.
As leader of Dragons Weyr, And running a guild wide vote. We are onboard with the boycott of gas in the new season of GW. I hope this helps make a statement to this issue and it can be resolved by this action
Many in my guild are support the boycott and are refusing to make any purchase including gold and green gas. The biggest complaint is the removing of spectating red gas.

My guild is a low pressure, “play as you want, family first, life happens, if it’s not fun it’s not a game” kind of guild. We don’t get to play 6 games of GWs because, A) Who has that much time to spend on a game every weekend? B ) We are from all over the world and it’s difficult for enough of us to be on at the same time, but most importantly C) We choose to not spend money on red gas.
We’ve never discussed boycotting, but we’ve made the choice to not play rather than spend money. Sundays are usually spent discussing who has gas and who doesn’t. Decisions are made based on the amount of gas we have and the decision typically is, I’m out of gas, here is my key, and I hope you who still have gas can play another battle.
If you choose to spend money on GW, it’s your choice and have a great time! No judgements from us, and we will have no regrets. My guild will not win the big prizes. We see them there and would like to grab some of them, but we choose to not run after them.
We support the boycott because we really would like to play more. I suppose we have been boycotting all along.
from day -10 I point out NG made a big mistake by not focusing the game tactical side (can not review the battle, can not allow the defense choose) then it turn out to be obvious, they just want to make more money! Ya, I am 1000% boycott the GW gas until they change it with 300+ player
It's been strong with the challenge since forever, but we don't much mind because it wasn't really that big a deal.
The whales got higher scores in the challenge... Ok. Annoying but, ok. We can live with that.
In outposts, free to play can climb up the charts, not too difficult. Pay players have little easier time of it, no problem here. We can deal.
In guild wars, organizing, communicating, gathering, getting pumped up, hyped, drooling at delicious prizes... Only to get smacked down again and again by power guilds spending $$$ on red gas??
Not ok.
And now they will take away one of the few ways to gain a couple red gas...?
It's fine to say "Hey, don't give up! The VP multiplier gets bigger the higher you go up in tiers!!"
That shit don't matter unless you WIN!!??
In bronze the multiplier for losing to a big whale guild is x0
In silver 1,2,&3 the multiplier for losing is... x0!
In gold it's still... You guessed it. x0!!!
Wooohoooo!!
Climbing tiers don't mean squat unless you're spending to win, because the higher you go, the more likely you will be matched vs a $powerguild$.
My guys love playing guild wars... But NEXT has to address this.

As everyone above said, the most broken part of Guild Wars is the gas economy. Plain and simple. I can buy a booster for all other game modes for $1.99 and play until my eyes bleed for 24 hours. For GW gas, I can pay $10 for 25 minutes of play. The fact that NG (as a whole, nothing personal here) tries to defend the GW gas balance is shameful to say the least.
A few from my guild have already posted in this thread, and I'll echo them. Army of Slayers will be wholeheartedly backing this boycott (a quarter of our guild is already ftp, and not all that do spend money on the game buy guild gas). The limitations put on GW by NG just does jive with the idea behind it: Guild vs. Guild, warring against each other, and the team with the best teamwork and better tactics wins. Not: the team with the most gas wins.
If you don't want to look at it as a boycott because that's a dirty word, look at it like this: Many players of this game are giving data for NG to analyze ahead of time. We all know that "looking at the data" means "looking at the money coming in relative to game mode/bundle type/whatever else". There is no reason why a special game mode should be hundreds of times more expensive than the rest of the game. I've read responses by @Shteevie to the community about already giving players, even ftp, enough gas to play... it's ridiculous (not to mention the condescending tone).
@Kaz@Shteevie NG has done an amazing job creating the best thing that could happen to NML, now please take off the cash barrier around not just those who want to compete, but those who just want to play without spending an arm and a leg.
If we determine were facing a power spender guild, we reign it in and save gas. If we vs someone we think we can beat, we go all out.
Shouldn't be that way tho. It's sad...
We are just hyenas picking off the weakest of the herd.

NextGames has every right to try to maximize its revenue. Players can respond to NG pricing any way they desire. It's as simple as that.
It's an ultra-competitive, social media influenced business world. Consumers today demand value, and if one company doesn't provide value, consumers will find a substitute very quickly. Consumers will let the world know what they think of a company's value proposition on social media. Most markets, like the game market, provide consumers plenty of choices.
It's hard not to tie GW gas pricing to the NextGames announcement on Jan 10. The GW gas pricing has provided the company some short term revenue, but you have to question whether the high price of GW gas will be good for the company in the long run.
GW gas pricing is just a continuation of the NG regular strategy of milking the whales. Given NG's financial performance, one could might conclude that the company has made some bad decisions in the past, and they might want to try some different tactics.
@colinat plenty of players love guild wars from a fun point of view, the problem is having enough gas to participate in a full war. I’m not paying $60 a week to play it on top of bundles and boosters.
@colinat I think we are all wanting support for this awesome game mode, thing is the support needs to come from NG. The amount of free gas given equates to 15 gas a key. Which is about 15 mins of game play. Seeing I spent around 3 to 4 hours (at least) trying to organise our guild to get as many people a chance to play as possible, I wonder if it is worth it. I want to support this game mode and have been but if NG don't support the players of the game mode then why should I support it?
@SCBMA Gave you an agree so you had a "full house" of responses in the first six! Grats...or something like that.
I beat you all to it. I knew from the onset that my spending on GW gas was going to be limited based on the dollar prices the first week.
When they added the GW gas for gold, I thought maaaaybe if we were close in a battle. And I actually did buy a 5/300 offer that second week. But, nope. I'm playing my 4-5 battles a week, usually the last one is with only 5 or 10 gas to contribute and I'm making do.
The RoI of money spent for time played doesn't make sense to me. So I opt to ignore it. Easy peezy, lemon squeezy!
I’m disappointed to see this as a viable option for the community and leadership of some big gunned guilds. As influential members of this game we all enjoy , it would be awesome to see support for this fabulous new game mode that is the epitome of Guilds.
Y’all! Lol this is a spam account and not their words.
GWs takes about 30 gas per key when you play all out, tell me where you can get 180 gas without spending your freaking but off. Just insane, not spending a penny....
I actually put up a post here at the beginning of these wars calculating guild wars is about 130 times more expensive than any other game mode.
I was very surprised people still bought it by the truckload since it's very poor value for money. To me it's clear that many people impulse buy, just to be able to win one war. Trying to get people to just buy without thinking raises some serious ethical questions.
You can feel how you want about GW (personally I had expected more) but the prices are absolutely insane.
Driving more and more people out of the game altogether, including whales and some of the greats - which should at the very least worry NG -.
@Kaz is a very skilled communications manager but I feel NG should position themselves very humbly on this matter because the facts are there for all to see, and they're not pretty, so at least acknowledge them!
Or as some would say: don't piss in my ear and tell me it's raining.
I am sick of the spoiled crybabies that whine every time things don’t go their way. Many of these whining “leaders” are the same ones who have no problem screwing their guild members when it helps THEM, personally.

Since NML is NGs cash cow, it would be a disaster for them if the money stops coming in.
