Nerf again! Good not to have to watch so many ads but every 8 hours? And so far I’m getting less. Come on NG be Fair! If we want ads then let’s have them more often
@Vane@Fluxxx I think that if the cinema is left like this every 8 hours, NG could implement a minimal amount of gas on the walkers present at the camp fence, we say with the same frequency as gold. I think it's a good solution for everyone.
So two cinema ads so far. One gold crate (5 radios) and one silver crate (3 radios). I got a LOT more silver/gold crates under the old system. Doesn’t make sense to me.
I use the cinema to supplement gas for Challenge, Outpost and The Distance, as do many others..
I'm not speaking for everyone but the ads were "optional", so for me it's a nerf. I used to spend big, but now just occasional boosters since Guild Wars suspension/round pass fiasco..
I do not want to be "forced" (passively) to spend money to maintain the same level of game time...
Adding Gas to the Wall as per @Jankel suggestion above is a great idea and will keep many logging in.
Logging in less means this game will be on a backslide for me, petty as it may seem to some.
Hey, #1 Outpost guy here. Thanks for messing with chances at gas supplies. I watched all ads while at work so I could restock my gas for when I take a break so I can raid. Now it looks like I will have to play something else while at work for 12 hour shifts. This is a very unfair change to free players IMO and even big spenders. I pay for my gas booster every week to do challenge, sometimes 2. Now your telling me I need to pay money every day to play? 2 steps forward 1 big step back always. We will lose more players with this change. Why not have 30 gas available in tgs shop every restock? And change the mission car gas refills by decreasing the timer to a Max of 5 minutes if fully upgraded? Also maybe let us force restock the tgs shop with tomatoes so we have more chances at gas would be nice. And decreasing the frequency of adds to 4 hours instead of 8. Give people more of a reason to check in. Will also miss the components and gear chances. From 32 chances at gas down to 2 is not a good step and is very unfair. Thanks for listening.
While the ads did have there glitches after more thought I really dislike the new way ads and extra crates has been introduced. This change will really hurt those F2P members. Please reconsider this and fix it in a patch update.
There was heaps of gas available under the old system. During the guild wars fiasco while using the compo boosters I was able to save over 1000 gas by watching the camp ads, using trade store etc. Several hundred cans of which came via the camp videos (it was atleast a month until i saw my tank empty again). As someone who's work commitments have recently shifted and I'm not able to log in hourly I've really noticed the change in my gas tank. For dedicated f2p players this change is huge and will impact on their ability to compete in all eareas of the game with those who've the money to buy the boosters. Def a step back under the guise of progress.

I got 10 gas and 15 gold there's more gas watching ads every hour maybe NG should implement gas for poking walkers outside the wall not just on herd weekend
@Bill666@DrUnpleasant if you've had this happen (the XP instead of gold/phones/gas), please do send a Support ticket, and they will help you out - as this is not intended to happen (considering you have already upgraded your game to version 3.3).
Dear @Vane and dear @NG, let's say this ... since you wanted to reduce our time and our presence in the game, my proposal to have petrol accelerators of 6 and 12 hours becomes essential and real. I don't want to stay awake anymore to do 24 hours of continuous gas, because I know you care about me and you worry about me. I definitely don't have someone playing for me while I'm sleeping, thus losing some of the money spent upfront. If you are free to give us the gas you want with the advertising revolution, I also want to pay only for what I can play. You must make it possible.
@Vane I received XP for my watch this morning. I'm not bothered enough to submit a ticket but perhaps you guys could just look at it to check it's working as intended.
This has been frustrating without hourly ads, not enough gas is the main problem here. U can’t expect players to boost in a non challenge days. Let alone 8 hours of waiting is way too long. Bad decision being made here about the ad changes.
While I did get 15 gas / 5 radios / some gold yesterday I did notice what is going to be my pattern. 3 ads yesterday but probably only 2 today due to the timing and 3 again tomorrow. If I miss the refresh rate even by 30 minutes that makes the last refresh after I have gone to bed. I.E. I am up at 4:30am CST but ad was not available till 5:10...missed the refresh till 5:50 so next will be at 1:50pm and last at 9:50 tonight. I will have been in bed for at least 30 minutes. I realize you can't cater to eveyones schedule but this is a big step backwards since I use to be able to log in multiple times a day to watch ads for a little extra gas or gold.
I have to chime in here and echo several of the sentiments others have posted. In the spirit of transparency, I am not f2p - I'm not a huge spender, but I do spend money on the game. That being said, I also was an avid user of the hourly cinema ads, primarily for gas. Those of us who log in every hour or so to utilize those ads (many of whom have spoken up in this thread) know very well how much gas you can accumulate throughout the day. To be clear, I love the idea of "reducing the ad grind," but this reduction is massive overkill.
If you (NG) are set on reducing the ad grind, you absolutely have to implement a way to make gas more readily available - especially for the f2p players, I have to imagine this will be a big blow to them. I actually came on here to suggest putting gas in the wall walkers permanently (as opposed to being exclusive to the herd event), but @Jankel beat me to it (nicely done, friend ). I also really like @BloodyChainsaw's suggestion of reducing the mission car timer to 5 minutes instead of 10. Either of those should be easy to implement (I would think - I know nothing about coding). Bottom line, you (NG) have got to do something about this - you have to realize that less gas means fewer people playing, right???

Had full gas at 8pm uk last night and have not done any missions. Have watched 3 ads in that time and no gas from them. I’ve been unlucky and not got any gas from my trade shop either. I’m starting the challenge with that’s right 31 gas. Can’t remember the last time I didn’t have at least 50 to start it with. Ah well this week I get a free boost so that will help but next week is going to be a pain!
I will add that I buy a gas booster now and then & will continue to do so. BUT I usually only get them for my weekend play time. I use the cinema gas to get me through the week nights as time is limited. Without that gas now I will possibly farther behind come Friday night and either struggle to catch up if it is a busy weekend or just resign myself to having lower stars that week and save my money & not buy the booster.
@Vane@Fluxxx I know without a shadow of a doubt that you guys want to do what's best for the community on these message boards. I feel your hands are tied, and you guys are just the messengers...I totally get that...There comes a time when you need to fight on the hill and take on a battle of epic proportions to help protect the community you serve.
Some of the recent changes can be spun into positives. Most are just huge negatives for the experienced players that are on here, or may have never spoken on these boards but read the contents. I need you to fight for the changes that will keep the money contributing players appeased.
The 10 minute Gas wait is a joke. The Mission Car capacity is pitiful. The amount of gas required to do these missions is off the chain. There have been so many good suggestions made in the responses above me. Please take these and forward them to the people who can make the changes. NG will lose more players in the long run by nerfing the one thing that allows them to play the game which is gas.
Wouldn't it be more profitable for NG to go to the companies that advertise in-game and say "We can increase the frequency people watch your ADs by 100%" You are limiting the number of times people open the game during the day which makes it less desirable for advertisers. App open frequency should be paramount in your business model. The changes made yesterday are doing the exact opposite of what should be the intended outcome of this game which is profit for NG, and enjoyment for the user.
I will not, and will never again spend $1.99 for a gas booster just to play the game. Or, never again will I spend $4.99 for 400 Gold for Guild Wars, or $27.99 for a weapon that actually lets you advance in the game.
I actually really like this game and most of the aspects with it or I just wouldn't care. Please take things under advisement and make the changes that will secure the future of the game for NG.
Thank you the feedback guys! This is a new system and it helps to hear your thoughts about the changes. We need to give this change a bit of time to estimate the way it functions and get more understanding on how it can be improved, too. It is my job to bring your opinions forward and to understand how to make things more engaging and fun, providing the information and feedback further to the development/company.
The main idea behind the ads change, to put it very short, is to reduce tedious watching of ads, while giving players well-balanced rewards for doing it. If we look strictly at data and what it tells us, the majority of players really don't enjoy watching ads, which is a very reasonable and understandable thing - it's boring, it's not part of the actual gameplay, it's not fun. Plus, some parts of the previous ads implementation system were broken, causing players to get a fair amount of faulty ads (new implementation allows us to make this experience smoother). Now, from your feedback (of people who do watch cinema ads), one of the main thing that we are missing from ads after the change is gas, helpful to play more missions (and occasionally gold, even though the chance of finding it was pretty small). That being the case, I am sure there are other possible ways to go around the gas change, without coming back to high number of watchable non-fun ads and low rewards for watching them.
I also really like @BloodyChainsaw's suggestion of reducing the mission car timer to 5 minutes instead of 10
I really like this idea, too, and I have been actually thinking about it in my head for the last couple of months. Since we started the development of "4 free unlocks per hour" instead of "4 ads for post-mission unlocks per hour", I thought that this change would go quite well with reduced gas recharge time - now also that you receive a notification on your phone when your free unlocks are refreshed. This needs some more further consideration and analysis, but I believe it would be quite an interesting change.

Thanks for the feedback! 24 hour cycle (8+8+8) is indeed pretty hard to manage - that's a very valuable point which I think deserves having a second look at.

Sheesh
Cats lucky that bag smelled like food.
Although I did get 6 phones for my 1 watch today so maybe I’ll bring the torches back a notch.
Edit: apparently it’s not meant to work that way and it’s being looked at “.
Um, pass.
