Behind Corners

Starting a thread now to get my complaints out of the way. This map is ridiculous and I hope it has been changed.

Constant spawns that are actually HIGHER than the mission RSL, threat counter, high volume of initial walkers, tight corridors, empty boxes. This map is absurd.

The constant spawns should at least be changed so that they are 1-2 levels lower than the mission RSL. That would at least make this level slightly more playable.

    This map set is pure shit for auditions for NW.

    I was able to get 2350 on last map but I’ll be lucky to break 2k on this set

    Well it's the same for everyone so in a way it's good that everyone starts with a more modest number of round passes.

    Yep. Only way to beat this map at high levels is to run Eugene and two Bruisers. Stun, run, and pray you get the right crates. Total gold suck.

    @JayZ dont forget pray spawn isn’t on exit and you have to kill.

    Sucks to make dash for exit and boom spawn sucks up exit point. NG knows what they are doing I would have almost preferred assault start. Get first wave all in one attack and use scouts praying you get right boxes.

    I look at missions like this one as Push Brakes: I know at some point, probably DL36 or 37, I'll just be utterly unable to do it, even with my best nerds, gear, and badges.

    This map hasn't been changed or touched in any way. but the map can indeed be changed to a different one, it's not the most exciting map ever.

    We will have a look into it then.

    Swap it for inside and out. Been a while since we've had that. Autospawn tank RNG :trollface:

    To be fair, even without behind corners you still have nest and the loading bay to contend with. Nest is what, 8x8 map with autospawns and like 6 crates, half the map is filled with walkers after 2 turns. God forbid you have to open more than 3 crates at high level. The other is a 1 space doorway you have to open with a tank starting next to it, autospawns every turn and even if you get past that there's another tank on the other side ready to block you in :lol:

    @Vane man this is one set that really needs retired. I know I won't spend any money to push further this week because of the impossible mapset at high RSL. Yes, this is a "Challenge", but let's get something a little more doable especially since the update is delayed. Thanks!

    I think it's a fine map generally, but one of the five things I mentioned could be tweaked a bit to make it more playable! Lower level continuous spawns and a few less walkers at the beginning can make a world of difference.

    Awesome, thank you @Vane! Don't worry, you didn't make it too easy on us. As @WellyLuga said, there are still a few maps that are PITAs, but overall, I think this makes the map set a lot more balanced!

    Thanks Vane! The rest of the map set is tough but that one was ridiculous. I assume this is fuse box from the revamped kaboom challenge.

    I remember enjoying the river animation at the end of this mission.

    Can't see any reason not to bring it back. Maybe in some new compilation set?
