GW break time

Since we had 2 weeks off before war 4, I think we should only have 3 weeks off when this war season ends. I don't want to spend more than a month waiting for the new war season to start, since we've already taken a long break from this season

I wouldn't even want 3 weeks off, 2 would be enough considering the delay, and would be perfectly timed with the end of the seasonal campaign.

I don’t bother with the new last stand.  Far too much to do already and I have a life.

But I’m in favour of a longer break, spreading out GW more, say every other week in the GW cycle

also think 20 axes would be better, 25 was too many, 18 not enough

20 is good I agree, then one strong player can visit or hang with a weaker guild and do a difficult island's walkers without help that isn't coming.

The goal of Guild War is to play as a team. The fact that only one strong player can lead his team to the victory is a non-sens

I always feel the teams and players who want less of a break don’t play to the highest of standards and play to a set plan.
Players put in so much of their own time, not just organising but calculating directions and numbers.
I just don’t think some people realise that some of these maps are like 25 mins of solid game time, concentrating and swearing because so much rides on each move. At those levels in Island 19-20 you can’t make loose plays otherwise that can cost you the match.

2 weeks of war back to back is too much.

Yeah but more often than not it had nothing to do with playing as a team and more to do with one War Commander scratching his head trying to figure out how to stuff a square peg into a round hole.

Hmmm let's see if there's any of these casuals that can hit a couple level 47-49 KAW to help Grandmaster Badass compete island 20.

This is always the issue with mixed guilds.  We are all L75 but only a few of us can handle the top Islands.  The rest are L75 but haven't put in the time & effort to upgrade/reroll/learn tactics that the rest of us have.  It's not even a real money spending issue; you can do some high-level missions without spending cash.
Also the issue of some people saying they can handle a certain mission but consistently have issues.  I have to keep notes & stats on players to keep things straight, because there is no way you can take some of them at their word.
We've had people join as "enemies only" that worked hard, learned, and got to a point where they could be trusted.  Meanwhile, we have people that have been in the guild 3x longer that still get relegated to doing enemies once any lower level greens are done.

This is nonsense. In some battles this may be the case but it is part of competition. It's what the term MVP was invented for, many teams across whatever you happen to be competing in usually have one player who is better than the rest and might win matches on their own but you won't win all of them without a strong team to back you up.

I agree with Noiserating, although maybe not the wording. I think the game mode should be designed to favor teams with good communication and team work. It does do that now though, and one person can finish an island with 18 attacks 98% of the time with help from the team doing KAWs and human opponents. No need to change the max attacks.

@Winston457 i think i follow what you're saying and yeah I know what you mean. @Paste isn't wrong either, organized guilds should be rewarded for their ability to plan and maximize team efforts. But I'm one of those planners and maximizers and it gets to be an annoying chore sometimes... Players can be fickle and often last minute changes destroy huge amount of time you put in to planning. 20 attacks would make my life way easier with the math.

    Side note for @Winston457
I'm gonna help you with some lingo

    Human enemy missions = PVP
    (Player toons vs Player toons)

Walker missions = PVZ, PVW, PVE
    (Player vs Zombies)
    (Player vs Walkers)
    (Player vs Environment)
**these all mean the same thing, take your pick. I like PVZ personally**

I know the lingo, but I'm one of 2-3 that actually peruses the forums.
I try to educate as best I can but we have some people that just never learn.  We also have a few with English as a second language.  They won't use the forum lingo so I usually default to our Guild lingo without thinking about it.
With some members we have to say 'orange' or 'green' missions so there is no misunderstanding.
It's not my guild, I didn't start it.  I joined 2yrs ago.  I do most of the GW planning though, especially on the days I play.

Edit: I love my guild.  I did not mean to make it sound otherwise, not that any of them will ever see this.  The Leader is a good dude and we have a solid group of Co-Leaders, myself included.  The rest are good people, but there is definitely a mix of dedication to the game.  Most of the ones that haven't improved as much as they could are ones that have been in the guild as long as me, or longer.  We want to win, but we also want to remain loyal to long time members as long as they are contributing.

We don't have those issues at all currently, but we used to have some of the underlying issues when we had challenge based guild movements (and not being the top guild makes it worse).

Our plans are posted after inspecting the map and assessing our opponents, and we don't add the full plans to begin with. I have to do way harder math multiple times per battle.

I post a full GW plans right before the battle based on everyone's latest feedback and max abilities. Makes things clearer and smoother imo.
The only in-battle change we usually have is whether I should do 19 or 20 🤭

18 attacks works fine, but 20 could be much better for planning with new GW map. I'd welcome it!
Instead of 5 islands + 1 sector + 8 KAWs, it would make straight 6 islands + 8 KAWs for a team of 10. Easier to break down as well: 6 people all pvZ + 3 ppl all pvp + 1 person (12 pvp+8 KAW).

@Paste I imagine you're just doing that for your primary Guild yes? Multiple calculations throughout the match?

Yeah. I don't do that for the an entire guild family. Wouldn't be possible. If you do the GW planning for the entire family I don't envy you.

Yeah I do help several of my junior guilds, 20 would be so nice lol

It's not like I violently object to that anyway. Just don't want to spend more time, gold and tools in GW, but it's not like adding 10% more attacks means spending 10% more time. In your case it's seemingly the opposite.

I hope you can train someone else to help the junior guilds though. One person shouldn't have to do that work for many guilds imo.
