In effort to give melee a boost, I offer my latest suggestion.

VIGOR PERSEVERANCE - melee troop trait

Every time your melee survivor attacks an enemy that fails to kill, then he/she has (X)% chance to gain a charge point.

Level   1 - 20%
Level   2 - 25%
Level   3 - 30%
Level   4 - 35%
Level   5 - 40%
Level   6 - 45%
Level   7 - 50%
Level   8 - 55%
Level   9 - 60%
Level 10 - 65%

    Yes please! My beta with morning star would love that trait! HD too! Charge those melee survivors up! 
    Just to be clear this is a standard trait, like dodge and ruthless and not a leader trait?

    Yes that's my hope. Potentially replacing one of the "unicorn" slots depending on player preferences.

    Grab up some hero tokens and reroll tokens, it'll be worth it.

    No man. I'm 100% NOT trying to add another hero trait here.

    We've not had a new core trait in ages, and I think melee needs one or two.

    Simply put, the Leader slot is almost always going to a hero that can help you gain Charge Points.

    With this it opens the options up. A case could be made to make this trait available to all classes, because essentially any new hero that comes out will be automatically inferior to Sasha unless they can help get huge amounts of charge points somehow without kills. Adding this in and Sasha will still be useful, she just won't always be necessary. I suggested it being exclusively a melee trait for now since ranged doesn't really need any help at the moment.

    I rate this idea. 

    I’ve seen some far fetched ones. But this is entirely possible and when you miss that kill and are stuck with your pants down….. this can help heal that pain lol

    Definitely a really cool idea! I think it would have to stay limited to melee. Otherwise you would just see Princess and Mercer dropping a trait to get this and Sasha would be completely obsolete as you would have a solid chance from Princess' trait and an even bigger chance from this new trait.

    I think the numbers would need to be a little lower to realistically be considered, Sasha is 41% at level 8 where as this one is 55%. Typically regular traits are weaker than leader traits.

    Nice suggestion. Nobody mentioned bruisers yet, but this would obviously be great on bruisers, too, with their many low-dmg attacks this would help them get charged for example in the classic 2 bruisers + Srick GW team. And as it would be a trait, it would mean you'd have to switch out a unicorn trait - perhaps even opening up for regular survivors with their five traits being somewhat useful again!

    And @WellyLuga I did consider the higher % at first, but then you factor in that hunter & assault are targeting many enemies at once every round whereas it's often difficult for melee to target more than one enemy and still remain safe from harm. I think the higher % in this case, will be warranted.

    The more important part over the multiple targets …. Melee is hand to hand combat range is from a safe distance. So of course we need higher % to even make it viable.

    Managed to get it first try! On reading the description it sounds like this is limited to 1 charge point per turn right? I'm not sure if it will count multiple attacks using the staff or just count it as your turn on the whole. Solid trait but it is merely one step in a long road to get melee back on track!

    Edit to add: Just noticed the 'each target' part :lol:

    I don't know. Dodge and lucky are so important to avoiding damage, charging up from Sasha and this new trait, concussion etc. Punish is non-negotiable in terms of keeping walkers stunned. Retaliate a no brainer in my head but I guess we will see. If dodge works then he doesn't need retaliate :wink:

    anyone managed to perseverance on beta yet? Know a few people (me included) rerolling beta 5-10 times and not getting it, but are getting it on other heros.

    I understand the thinking. Definitely 

    It’s logical. 
    Maybe I’m wanting to think outside the box then follow the herd. Worst thing happens I reroll after 2 weeks from a solid test in GW :) 
    And I only play 19/20 so I’m sure it will be a very fair test as you know my style of play.

    Bugs aside, I'm actually really enjoying using melee again. Bruisers can actually keep a pack stunned on their own without needing Sasha in the lead. I found that it triggers quite consistently and I am charged up quite a lot.

    Hopefully NG has a few more tricks up their sleeve to get melee back up there. Or @ATLAS-Z has a few more solid suggestions, a certain armour trait maybe? :wink:
