This Game = Insanity

I'm out. This game is insane.
In most other games I play, you work hard to gain the best characters and gear, often enduring the RNG as is common these days, and then spend months grinding to level them up. It's hard work, frustrating at times, but ultimately satisfying when you achieve your goals. This is a gameplay model I understand.
In Walking Dead, you DO that - and then your work is INVALIDATED every time you level up your council. Even if you reached the "end game", or spent hundreds/thousands buying "dice rolls" for a slim chance to get the ultimate survivor or weapon, it's all rendered pointless when a new council level is introduced, as was done today. I have no idea how they get away with a flawed model like this.
As well as that, the game is beyond broken with "reconnecting" issues affecting so many. Weeks pass and nothing is done:

This game is the ultimate waste of time, money and license. I'm nobody here, I won't be missed, but I have 15 "freemium" games installed on my device and I know when I'm on a hiding to nothing. I've got one less today.
Good luck to all those who struggle on, you truly are "survivors".

They really need to think twice before players will abandon this sinking ship...
--> Do you need a guild? ...send me a Private Message. My Recruiting den and my "Art Objects" in the Next Games Collection.
And NG wins with every iap. So go ahead and support your team.
Therefore you had to try and get those cards.
No difference here.
If they introduce a new episode - as I am certain they will soon - higher level survivors will be needed. You would need the council to start the process of upgrading so that you can play those new missions.
Why is that a bad thing?
The bugs, the game issues, the unresolved questions, the lack of answers, the non-responsive in-game help, the fixes-that-aren't-fixes, the fixes-that-break-other stuff, the lack of effective beta testing before upgrades, the hidden 'upgrades' that change the game play without any notice to players, the subsequent silence regarding those hidden 'upgrades', and the general poor communication .... all those reasons I understand.
But the council?
I've never seen another game that practically forces you to ditch everything you've grinded for and spent on to start rolling dice again at the Next Games casino.
Each to his own, you love it, I hate it. The game's clearly not for me. From some of the replies here, it sounds like this is the first/only freemium game many of you have played, so I guess you don't know any different. Either that or the IP is keeping you here.
Anyway, all the best.
I didn't really need lvl 18 survivors with lvl 21 gear.
It just starts the looong grinding process all over again, without any real goal.
Ok. I am not even close to your levels so it is very likely I am totally misreading this situation. So apologies in advance if this sounds noobish.
However, an upgraded Council would very likely lead to the ability to upgrade Training Grounds. The upgraded TG would allow you to boost your survivors. With a new episode in the horizon, you would need upgraded survivors.
Is it not probable that NG is simply giving you guys a leg up? I mean, chances are most players at your level have maxed out tomatoes and xp. By giving you the ability to spend some of your resources, it provides you with an opportunity to farm and collect more for the next upgrade(s) as opposed to just dumping everything at you at once.
Granted, if this is their intention (and it seems logical), they could have communicated it more clearly.
But is this not a good thing?
As I understand it, the question is: why expand and provide new stuff when the old stuff is broken?
No apologies necessary
The last council upgrade didn't offer any new content. It allowed me to upgrade survivors to lvl17 + some buildings in camp, and that's it. No new episode.
Levelled up my survivors and gear for no real purpose. Gear now 'obsolete'.
With nearly 10000 missions completed (half of those deadly), I'm starting to get bored grinding. Desperately need new incentive to keep me going.
High xp costs not helping either.
It's all getting a bit pointless.
Sigh*
Basically, I just need REAL new content and real goals.
Love this game and don't want to give it up.
Let's just hope there's a new episode coming soon.
Ahh. Ok. Did not know that. Well, then I certainly hope that they got their sh...umm... stuff together this time.
@Dale
Fix old stuff? FIX old stuff????
Are you mad?
If they fix the old stuff, what would I complain about on this forum? What would any of us complain about?
We'd have no reason for our daily jaunt here. Our social groups would break up!
What's wrong with you? Stop talking like a crazy person!
Say you have a lvl 17 warrior (all topped) then upgrade de concil and you have to find a new one at lvl 18 ! This is crazy !!
What if you could keep the same topped player but they would add 1 lvl thus keeping the same skill or perk put gainning hp point and damage ?? Would that be a good deal ? I think so
