I think I could be happy with 50% ROI with XP.
My pistol is 500k to upgrade first level, if I spend that decide for a change in weapons, I should be able to get back half. Plus that 50% isn't going to fill my coffers when the next pistol I have my eye on cost even more than that one.
@Lightfeet yes astonishingly high cost for the next lvl. I have so much hear doing nothing. Can't afford to upgrade it so I never get to try it out. Give me 100k for my old gun so I can try my new gun. My survivors wear lower lvl gear that has the traits unlocked instead of new higher lvl gear still locked. Almost all of my XP goes towards survivor upgrading as opposed to qear. The community reward pistol is sweet, and still fully locked. Useless since I've already unlocked extended range and luck on a lesser pistol.
I'm interested to see the cost of the boosters. If the cost can be earned in-game, that's reasonable. If the cost requires gold purchases, then that's not reasonable. I am also very interested to see the new XP drops and the increase in grind missions and really hopeful it's enough to make the game fun again. The XP event reminded me of why I used to enjoy the game so much.
So the boosters are cash only. While it's a small amount of cash, it's not an option for all players and half of it will go to waste as people have to sleep, work and have a life. They'll get the paying players to spend even more on gas unless both are purchased, but there are still the cool down times and hospital stays (more gold to heal faster). Definitely not a fair add-on to the FtP players and this is a FtP game. Or it was supposed to be....original intent seems to have fallen by the wayside.

lvl19-20 => 900K XP
lvl20-21 => 1.12 million XP
