Kind of concerned about the soft caps as I am a manual farmer and would like to keep that as part of the game play. I don't know what auto-clicking is and I wish I knew how to do it; however, it seems to me that a simple fix would be to require a preemptive move on the players part after so many overwatches. I don't mind spending a few bucks here and there as I think it's a great game. At the same time I don't want to feel like I have to spend money to enjoy it either. Having that balance of having to actively play with optional purchase is what has won my loyalty. I'm looking forward to the update.
Unless you were farming in excess of 300 walkers routinely, you're getting a much better deal for your invested time after this update. Even if you were farming for more than that, you'll be doing it much quicker, albeit it with, yes, over more missions.
I don't see a problem in "Soft cap". My survivors are lvl 15 and I have finished all episodes. I farm on episode 13 - XP missions. After last update (1.9) I've benchmarked my daily EXP gain. First day it was around 510.000, the other day it was around 520.000 Well, I guess I had luck because of lots of golden crates with 25.000+ XP, but I think on a normal day I could get 300.000-400.000 I do not use XP exploit nor I farm on those missions: Just get in there, clear two waves until I open all 3 crates and I'm done.
I have 17 gas, I play around 18 missions a day (ever hour, in the morning from 6AM - 10-11PM when I go to sleep) I've got more than 1 million XP in 2 days, no money spent, but even if you call it luck, I could still make 600.000 XP on a "bad day". ----------------------------
Now, the problem I have currently is that I'm not getting much videos for 3 more free crates to open after mission. Is there a bug with that: I am on a mission, it offers me "Watch video for free" and I don't use it (no golden boxes - I don't spend video for that) On a next mission there's golden box, but I don't have "Free video" option any more. What's up with that? EDIT: What I REALLY hate about 1.9 is removal of deadly missions.
This update is going to be one of the best update so far. I retired some of my best survivors because they had reached their maximum limits and had become obsolete. Wish this update had come at that time.
@Teeceezy I have this understanding from the changes to be made
1) My training camp is level 15 and my assault is 16/16
2) if I update my camp to level 17, my assault would automatically become 16/17
3) For upgrading my Survivor from common to uncommon and so on, I would have to upgrade their abilities i.e. add abilities (1 to 2 and so on) plus improve abilities (from bronze to silver to gold). If I upgrade my survivor abilities from 1 to 2, my survivor would become uncommon and so on. If I upgrade my survivor 3 abilities to gold and silver, my rare survivor would automatically become epic.
4) Why don't you apply the same kind of update to the weapons???

While I agree on the length of the thread is too long, the issue is there is not a sticky that mods can add to. Say I ask a question and it has been answered. Someone would have to pour through 11 pages to see if that question has been asked and on top of that if it has been answered. As well as that, receiving some differing answers. Eetu's response to the farming issue wasn't quiet as responsive as OldGoth's. It's not meant as criticism, just an observation.

There is 11 pages only because ppl don't bother to read 2-3 pages before ask the question. If they were, here would be probably about 5 pages max including off-topic.
It is so funny to read through the thread and see people asking same question over and over and over again. No really, guys. Why don't you read the Announcement thoroughly and read the thread before asking your question? It will benefit us all: all questions will be answered one time and nobody will need to read 3 times more pages, or ask the same question again just because there are already to many pages to read.
We can ask @zbot to make such long important treads looks like FAQ and if there was a question and clear answer from devs or mods or experienced player - we ask to stick it to first or say second message of this thread. If it was re-questioned again for clarification and more details was released from smbd - we ask mods to edit the answer on 1st page.
Glad a kept some decent trait epic low level max survivors. Having 22 slots figured hold till got better. Cool. Heard it said that:

P.s. devs you need to create your own map editor so you can use stuff from any map to quickly create better and new challenge maps. Heck I have a map editor for GTA V on pc where I can create custom maps using any object from the game & download some cool maps to add in game. If devs had such maybe they can give us more unique new challenge maps easier?
@eBandit, XP will still be used to upgrade levels (17 to 18), but a new commodity, tokens, will be used to unlock traits and upgrade the class of survivor (i.e. rare to epic.)
I still can't believe that NG will allow us to change rarity of the survivors. Auto-leveling to match training grounds is already huge thing in my opinion
@Amiga I wouldn't get too excited. Although the changes sound promising, it remain uncertain until the new system is implemented. This is not pessimism, just the realist in me. Everyone was very excited about the new radio system, and you know how many were underwhelmed.

@ste Initially in update 1.9, the farming cap was going to be set at 75 walkers, then you would only get 1XP per kill after that (and it would show above the walker). Thankfully, that was scrapped. It remains to be seen how this is going to be implemented in the next update.
Just want to make sure that in the new system, a level 18 epic, trying to upgrade to level 18 legendary, wont be bounced back to a level 9 legendary that has to re class up. This would be super duper annoying.

But I would be absolutely shocked if survivors are downgraded in this update...again I can't say for sure...but I can almost promise NG wouldn't do something that would cause a bigger backlash than any other previous issue they've had

So each time It will be something new and unexpected so I will not know what survivers should I use and what to expect. In this way it will be more fun and challenging.
