hah, to bad i didn't screenshot the new traits, now i know some stuff others don't
must say it looks promising, but it'll be even harder to find a weapon with the right combination of traits
Out of the 4 equipment traits, I'm really only a fan of 1 of them. Mainly for the reason you stated; getting a great combination of traits on equipment is going to be even tougher now. Hopefully they will alleviate this issue by allowing infinite level upgrades on gear in the future...it's going to suck even more now to try to replace our equipment every couple months, when adding to our gear would be way less frustrating.

Referring to the now removed announcement on the new traits, under the heading "Traits progression", I think the 2nd paragraph was intended to be the first paragraph. After reading both, I read it to mean that you first need to fully upgrade all of a survivor's current traits to lvl 5, and THEN you are able to promote that survivor to the next star/rarity level.
I do appreciate that the mods and devs announce new things but I can't help but feel it causes so much more work for themselves.
I understand they're excited to tell us about upcoming changes and we're excited about hearing and discussing those changes.
But I think we should all just take a step back, wonder how the changes are going to affect our gameplay rather then piecing everything together. Like the joys of experiencing it for the first time and asking questions how things operate after they are playable.
When you're on a first date you don't tell her what to expect up front. When the situation comes about you explain things as you go.
Im curious how the token thing is gonna work but I don't need to know everything about it right now. I like the "first time" experience of it when it comes.

i hardly believe that even a common survivor has a trait which can or must be upgraded to Lvl 5, maybe they start with only one trait at Lvl 1, after upgrading the survivor to an uncommon one, they have two traits upgradable to Lvl 2 and so one
@Teeceezy just to clarify, does this mean you will be able to upgrade all of a survivors traits to level 5? Or will some of them (the older ones) be capped at a lower level?
@Teeceezy What about the other rarity levels? Will some of their traits be capped at lower than max level (i.e. 2 traits max lvl 5, 2 traits max lvl 3)
so a commen will have one trait, at lvl1 an uncommen will have 2 traits both upgradable to lvl 2 = 4 tokens a rare will have 3 traits upgradable to lvl 3 = 9 tokens an epic will have 4 traits upgradable to lvl 4 = 16 tokens a legendary will have 5 traits upgradable to lvl 5 = 25 tokens
so an existing legendary maxed lvl 18/18 but even a 9/9 legendary will get 4 traits at max already and will have to upgrade his last trait with 5 tokens. an existing legendary at 18/19 will need to upgrade his 4the trait to lvl 5 before getting his 5th trait.
or even worse, an existing epic maxed out has 3 traits, so he only needs to upgrade the 4th before can upgrade to legendary, but an existing epic at 18/19 who still needs to unlock his 3th trait (used to be when he hits lvl 19) will first have to upgrade his 3th, then his 4th before being able to become legendary?
so everyone who tried to get survivers with highcap 19 is screwed, as all survivers will now automaticly go up in lvl to 19....? Am i looking at this the wrong way? Or will the high lvl players get some form of compensation?
I just looked at the new traits and I know that a lot of people want silenced ranged weapons so I know this will be unpopular but I hope the silent trait is exclusive to melee and not ranged and melee or even worse ranged only. My reasons are
1) I'm used to walkers always hearing me so for me it would be weird to me 2) Melee survivors need something to help balance their usefulness and make them more relevant again 3) The use of silencers on the show is very limited and to me instituting this trait in all classes wound shift the overall game balance of survivors and walkers too much in our favor and I like a challenge 4) I have horrible luck I will be the last to draw such weapons as everyone else is bragging about how awesome their weapon is
Sneaking around dead ones is missing from the game but I hope they keep the dynamics of the game in balance.
@lmfgunnut Doesnt the act of walking up on them sometimes trigger their movement by others nearby? I got the impression from the description that it would include that.
@Shut_Up I took the trait description to mean that attack would not add to the next wave of incoming walkers. I suppose it could be interpreted that it would not alert nearby walkers. Ambiguity, the mother of confusion

No official word yet...maybe a week or two if I had to guess from the time and sound of the original announcement...pure speculating though
I hope.

Threat Reduction - Killing walkers has X% chance of reducing Threat by one walker
so in a melee group you have a chance of not spawing any walkers? or does the minimum stay 2?
So we can expect more details about update 1.10 soon, right?
